Won't Play VHS Tapes Either
Posted .In short, neither the dynex or insignia 24" Tube TV's will display the video or sound from VHS tapes. Other than that, they are good TV's. The digital stations are really cool and it picks them up through my old antenna in the attic. But if you still have a large collection of VHS tapes, choose a different TV. Here's my story: When my old TV died, I bought the insignia equivalent of this TV. I was happy until I stuck a VHS tape into my DVD/VCR and found out that one wouldn't play VHS tapes. After spending 3 evenings at my local Best Buy and buying a new DVD/VCR from them, I took back the insignia one and bought this one since the dynex floor model played VHS tapes and insignia floor model would not. Now I get this one home and it's doing the same thing that the insignia did. It acts like it's picking up the copy protection in the tapes since it will display the video from stuff recorded a few years ago off the tv but not stuff from purchased cassettes. Also, it looks like both the insignia and dynex TV's are made by the same company since both the remotes are the same, the manuals look similar, the menu fonts are the same and neither will play *@#$.+)(@! VHS tapes no matter what VCR I use, yet my old 14" TV from the basement plays them fine. My theory is that they are using the same electronics as in their TV/VCR combos which picks up the copy protection "noise" in the signals.

Fuzzy
Posted .The picture quality is horrendous. After working the settings on the TV for a half an hour, the best picture I could get from it still made the TV screen look extremely dull and fuzzy. At one point, I had sharpness maxed out and I still couldn't read anything on the screen. A really depressing buy. I'm returning it tomorrow and buying an Insignia (which I should have done from the start)

Plenty good
Posted .I got this TV about 2 weeks ago because I was getting basic cable TV for the first time and needed something to warrant THAT expense. (Oy, why is life so complicated?) It's about 10 inches bigger than my old TV. I hooked it up and could finally see what I had been watching for years (so I'm saving on eyeglasses as well!). The sales guy knew what he was talking about. The picture is great. It offers very good viewing for the money, comes with a remote (so you'll have to do something ELSE for exercise now, bub) and will not become obsolete when the world goes HD in a couple years. A four year service plan was only $20, so I even got one of those. The channel changes are a bit slow, but I would recommend this set for anyone on a budget less than your dreams. It'll do just fine.

Just Average
Posted .Even though you delete channels (I deleted all the analog channels) the highest and lowest analog channels still come up. We don't get those and come next year most analog channels will be gone. I checked the menu and yes, those channels are deleted but still come up when you scroll through the channels that are NOT deleted (digital). VERY basic menu. Takes a long delete all the channels you DON'T want! Hopefully this TV will not experience any of the problems noted in previous reviews!!! Sound quality and picture quality is MUCH better than our old one (5.5 years).

Pretty Darn Good
Posted .Is this this the best TV I have even owned?..Well, not really. Is it a pretty darn good TV?..Yes. It has S-video and component inputs, as well as 2 standard A/V inputs and a standard A/V output, good picture and good sound (especially if you use the A/V output to hook it into a separate audio system), and all this at a reasonable price. I wouldn't recommend it for a large room or a home theater room, but if you live in an apartment or smaller house, the 24" screen seems to be the perfect size, big enough to see everything clearly without being overwhelmed. If you are looking for a good TV without having to cash in your IRA to pay for it, this would be a good choice (and you don't need a PhD to set it up).

Good for the price
Posted .I bought this TV a couple weeks ago and I'm pleased with it so far. I was on a limited budget and this TV definitely meets my needs. I have digital TV and the picture is very clear. In regards to the sound, I'm not sure. I have everything hooked to a stereo. The only down side is that my universal remote, which is less than a couple years old won't program to this TV because the TV brand is newer than what was programmed into my remote. I also can't seem to get the zoom feature to work, but that's not a big deal to me. If you're limited in your resources and need to upgrade what you currently have, I recommend this product.

ok tv
Posted .I just got this TV last night. I was looking for somthing that was cheap and to succeed my needs. One problem I have with it is the color when I try to play my xbox360 or xbox it does not pick up the color red(ish) very well. But when your watching regular TV on it the color and picture are great for being so cheap and a unheard of brand. So I guess you get what you pay for all in all. I mean its not the best but its ok.

Great PICTURE
Posted .The picture for this TV is fantastic for the price. Get the MOST for your money and take advantage of ANY deal or promotional that might be offered. The TV is very good for starting out (like myself), or as a second TV for a bedroom or den... just the right size. It also already has the DIGITAL converter (or so I was told in the store) so in 2009 you will not have to buy a converter to see broadcast TV - thats good.
