Goodnuff For The Kids
Posted .This is the perfect HDTV I was looking for to pair with the PS3 I got for my kids for Christmas. The features on this TV are comparable to your other budget brands i.e. Insignia, Memorex, Westinghouse, Olevia, Sanyo etc... What sold me on the Dynex 32" is the extra HDMI input (2). Although I don’t have a need for it right now, it won’t be long until I have another HDMI component to hook up to it. The TV does a fair job with displaying the correct color hue after making all the adjustments. The colors are sharp and HDTV picture quality is as good as other brands in the $500-$700 price range. It’s also able to reproduce the eye candy you'd expect from any PS3 games. The game shown on the picture is College Hoops 2K7. As other reviewers mentioned, connections are ample for the average user. The speakers aren't something to be desired but enough for a quiet environment. This shouldn't be construed as a negative as most, if not all flat panels have this issue just because of how manufacturers cram the components inside a flat panel to keep the desirable TV depth consumers are looking for. The menus are straight forward though there is not much adjustment flexibility. The design of the TV doesn’t look cheap either. Black on black is perfect to hide all the imperfections and the grand piano black bezel was a nice touch in my opinion. There really is nothing much I can complain about for the price I paid for this TV. All in all, this was not a bad purchase and will hopefully serve the needs of my kids for years to come without denting the bank. Mission accomplished until next Christmas! PS: I don’t know how reliable this information is but the salesman who sold me the TV said that the Dynex HDTVs are manufactured by LG for Best Buy.

Great Value HDTV
Posted .This HDTV is a great value for the money. The quality is pretty good. I looked at the other ones at BestBuy and if they looked better it was minimal. Definitely not 100+ dollars better. I hear this is made by LG or Emprex so its likely a reputable company manufacturing these. The specs are good. 2 HDMI inputs (which is more than the 37" dynex) Brightness and contrast looks good. Menu could be a bit more advanced but its not hard to use. Remote is fine but could look better and have light up buttons. Mounting options are tricky. It requires a 400x200 VESA mount so mounts with a 200x200 square will work but not correctly as it will mount on one side of the screen. Don't over tighten the screws for the mount. One of mine, luckily in the center where I don't need it, started spinning and won't come out now. This TV is definately worth the money. It's a good HDTV on a budget. Get the extended warranty and you have nothing to worry about. If the TV is less than 500$ the warranty is only 60$

Great TV
Posted .I purchased this unit when it was on sale for $449.99 due to an error in the weekly ad, which Best Buy was still honoring. That price alone combined with a 12% coupon from the Reward Zone program, and $10.00 in Reward Zone money, and $70.00 in Gift Cards left over from Christmas made it an ideal time to replace my 27" JVC tube tv in my bedroom. Since I did put this unit in my bedroom, I cannot verify what the other reviewers state about sound, because for my needs it does a superb job. I watch a lot of tv when I come home from work at 11:30 in the evening and it gives me the ideal volume without waking the Mrs. I have it connected with just the cable line from my wall with no converter box, and get 99 channels of analog programming(which is of acceptable quality, still a lot of "noise" in the picture though, but that it to be expected). My digital channels look great on the HD feeds - NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, PBS, and if Time-Warner ever opens up more basic level HD feeds I "MAY" get a box for them. Channel setup was a breeze, with the digital channels beginning at 101-1 and up. Picture quality tweaking gave me a fine picture, and sound adjustments made everything complete. I have the unit on a stand, and have debated mounting on the wall but haven't done so yet, as I have so much space with the old tube tv gone. If I do get a cable box I will most certainly use the HDMI connection, but for now have a DVD player connected using component cables, and a VHS player connected using composite cables. Yes I did say a VHS player...after all, it is in my bedroom and I am 43 so I have some "classic" titles that aren't on DVD. ;-)

Posted .I just got the DYNEX 32in LCDHD and I have to say I love it. Some of my co workers have spent 300 400 dollors more then me on there tvs. And we watch the Game at my house and there were very suprise at the picture . and when they found what i paid they were mad.But the only thing i recommend is a New surrouned sound lucky I have one so everything is perfect. Cause i saw the reviews before i got it and most people said the only thing bad was sound ,and its not bad but its not good. so upgrade your sound and you in the game and saving Money!and not spending 1000s for a tv

Best Buy for the Buck
Posted .This is my first LCD HD TV, I love it! It was easy to setup and the picture is awesome! I'll end up getting another one to hook up to my PC. If your on a budget like most folks, And do not use credit cards,This is the set for you. I first purchased another one at Wally World and it cost me $620.00 and only had a 1 year parts and 90 days on labor. I bought this one for a total price of $558.00 with a 4 year plan. This TV even has more features than the Wally World one. I say "Buy it!"

starter hdtv
Posted .i bought mine on sale for 479.99 i was looking for a 22in but all the name brand ones were more exspensive than this one. its a been a welcome upgrade over my old 19in tube tv. playstation3 games look great but i fail to see the difference between dvd and blu-ray movies. i would still recomend this tv. i plan on purchasing a plasma tv of at least 50 inches to experience deeper blacks. the cabinet is nicely designed except for the "DYNEX" on the front. i would have prefered a better known brand.

What to expect for $449 bucks ?
Posted .We bought this HDTV, model DX-LCD32, 5 days ago, during last week's Black Friday Sale. I hooked it up, that same evening using the S video connection, and the RCA audio ports from our Direct TV reciever, Yup (Simple enough ehh). Every thing was working good, it had a good picture, and good enough stereo sound. The menu was easy enough to navigate thru, All was great, till this evening. We got home from work, turned it on. and saw a thin (verticle red line from the top to the bottom,,just left of dead center in the middle of the screen??? I called The Best Buy store where we purchased it, and pressed 2 to talk to some one on the Geek Squad, about what the problem could be, to make a long story short, He said the return policy is good for 60 days, and bring your receipt. I guess I got a bad one. ( I'm sure glad I followed my instincts and didn't throw the box in the garbage on Saturday) ! Wish me luck on the second one !! With the price of gas these days I'm wondering how much of a savings, it's really going to be?

Decent HDTV for the price
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI wanted a television to replacing the aging 32 inch tube in the bedroom. I didn't want to spend a ton of cash for something that I watch maybe an hour or two a night a couple of days a week. I stumbled across this set and utilized my reward zone membership to get a great deal on it. I knew it was a Best Buy house brand, but was willing to give it a shot. The price was too good to beat. The biggest mystery is who actually manufactures the television for Best Buy. No one at the store knew, and one sales rep went as far to say "They won't tell us when we ask". The audio is not the best, even for broadcast television. The bass response is pretty weak, and the speakers sound sorta high and tinny. It's adequate, but if you're an audiophile you're going to notice it right away. I found that by turning the bass all the way up and the treble down considerably, it helps. If you do this you'll need to compensate by turning the volume up higher. The picture quality is pretty darn good for a house brand television, both SDTV and HDTV broadcasts. I was genuinely impressed with the picture after I played around with the color and brightness settings (if you have a DVD that is THX certified, run the video tests to help you adjust the picture, you'll be glad you did). The factory defaults, in my opinion, resulted in too bright of a picture (turn the bulb brightness down) and too deep of color (turn the color setting down). The remote feels cheap and flimsy. It neither has light-up buttons or glow-in-the-dark buttons as most televisions I have purchased in the past have had. My universal remote for my cable box did not have a code specified for Dynex, but I eventually found a universal code in the remote that worked. It controls basic power and volume settings, and thats really all I need it to do. If you're bothered by this, you can purchase an aftermarket programmable universal remote. All in all, I'm pleased with my purchase. I am not quite sure I would consider this (especially the size) television for my main viewing tv, but for a 2nd television in the house, it performs adequately for those needs.
Q: QuestionThe picture only fills the middle of the screen. I have cable tv service , no hdtv, no cable box. How can I get the picture to fill the screen?
Asked by jinxmd.
- A:Answer You may use the Zoom feature to change the display aspect until it fills the screen. Alternatively, you may contact your cable company for a box and adjust the signal through the box's display options.
