Excellent Solution!
Posted .I have to tell you I've had horrible luck with technology lately--everything's been failing on me. Suddenly my NEW computer is rejecting my gadets that use the USB cables. After trying everything I could think of and everything I could find online to fix my problem, I finally consulted to Geek Squad to see if they could fix whatever they found wrong. It was suggested that I just buy a USB internal card which I didn't even realize existed--makes sense, I just wansn't thinking outside--or even inside the box! I installed it quickly. It took a little time to get the card to lock correctly in place, but once I did *POOF* problem solved. It's a fantastic solution if you're having problems with your CPU's normal USB ports or if you just need more! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SOLUTION! FAST, EASY, AND INEXPENSIVE!!!

Hey, it works with Apple Mac's
Posted .I have an old Apple Mac (c1999), G4 Yikes model with 1.5MB Ram. I wanted to buy an extra external DVD burner, but they all required a USB 2 port. Well, my old Mac doesn't have a USB 2 port. So, I saw this Dynex USB 2 PCI card, but none of their product said they were Mac compatible. Anyway, I said "what the heck, its only $34." I bought both the burner and this PCI card, got home pop the PCI card into my last PCI slot, plugged in the burner and 10 minutes later, lo & behold everything worked - I didn't even have to add any software drivers. I've got to say the old Mac is slow at encoding, but I did successfully burn two disks (a DVD-R & a DVD+R DL). Dynex is losing out on a niche market by not listing their products as Mac Compatible.

Plug and Play
Posted .Works great on my Windows 2003 Server system. It installed easily and didn't even need custom drivers - the OS automatically recognized it and installed the appropriate drivers. Note that the perspective of the image makes the card look short. It is a normal standard height, half-length card, just in case someone's looking for a particular form factor. One thing that would've been nice is if it had an extra internal USB header to connect chassis USB ports to, but I knew it didn't when I bought it, so I can't really complain. Installing this card and connecting my Western Digital MyBook to it made a HUGE difference in speed. Where backing up files to the MyBook took ten of hours on my system's built-in USB 1.1 port and frequently caused pauses in the system behavior, the same backup over USB 2.0 took less than an hour with no impact on system responsiveness. USB 2.0 is over 40 times faster than USB 1.1, so if you have a Hi-Speed USB 2.0 device and don't have USB 2.0 already, this is a worthwhile upgrade.

This One has Saved Me
Posted .Desktop that I'm using doesn't have any PS2 ports anymore. All connections, such as mouse & keyboard are connected only via usb ports. Upon returning from a vacation, the pc wouldn't boot up. Must have had a power surge at home. After replacing the power supply, it fixed that issue but I couldn't login anymore nor move the cursor. Come to find out, all my usb ports have fried and both mouse & keyboard aren't responding anymore. This Dynex pci usb pci card had saved me. Mouse & Keyboard are responding and I am able to login to Windows again. Yes I have done everything else after I have logged in to Windows. Uninstall/reinstall usb drivers, chipset, & updated the BIOS. My original usb ports are just history.

USB Problem(s) LIFESAVER!!
Posted .I was having issues with my Older 5 year computer. I was having a hard time with my USB ports recognizing my IPOD Touch, and my new Toshiba Portable Hard Drive. Both of which I was really excited to enjoy. After spending the entire weekend searching for drivers, downloading the new service pack, and getting ready to throw my computer out the window, thinking it was “only” the drivers, and not my older hardware. I was ready to go crazy with 500$ in unused toys sitting on my desk. I found this after searching everywhere in my area for one, and after reading the review felt confident, and made sure to buy the 4 port! Compared to others you can order, and that other stores used to carry, price wasn’t so great. But I was not ready to wait weeks for shipping. So what the hay, wasn’t bad either. But at the same price, you get a 4 port USB hub, so its fair. It took minutes to install in my (windows XP/ SP3!) desktop, Turned in on, and immediately windows recognized everything and it was ready to go! I cannot tell you how relieved and happy I was to have my new devices finally recognized. This piece of hardware is a life saver!! Fixes near and USB problems you are having, especially with older hardware. BUY IT!! This product was my life(and frustrations) saver. …. Oh, it also charges my IPOD. J 5*s!

Works just fine
Posted .the card is very easy to install as with most pc components you can buy retail it is just plug it in and go i used it to upgrade and old computer with usb 1.1 to 2.0 does exactly what its supposed to do and you can't ask any more than that. Even if you have usb 2.0 already it is nice to have the 4 extra slots if you have the pci slot available i know that it made it easier for me being able to leave all of my cables like my mp3 player, joystick, and my camera plugged in all of the time so i don't have to keep changing them out all of the time

simple to use
Posted .I bought this card over 2 years ago for an ancient ( 2002 ) Compaq Pressario 6000 series desktop which only came with USB 1.0 ports on the OEM motherboard. This card was plug and play and all periferals worked, but, not in 2.0 mode at first, even after loading the driver CD. I kept getting an annoying " this device will perform faster..." message. Then, after owning the card for over a year, I found the instructions....AND ACTUALLY READ THEM! It turnes out I needed to go into the device manager to activate this cards full capabilities. No more message. I feel stupid for not figuring this out sooner and is certainly not a fault of this card. Five stars for the product, one star for my ineptness, lol.
