Great features and performance for the price.
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this power supply to replace one that died on my HP Desktop PC. The dimensions were the same and it was a perfect fit. The main power plug fits both older 20 pin ATX type connectors, as well as the newer 24 pin type on the motherboard (20 pin + 4 pin). It comes with a 4 pin ATX 12v power cable, 4 SATA device power cables, 3 of the older AT device power cables, a floppy drive power cable, PCI Express 6 pin power cable. The cables are fairly long, and are enclosed by sleeves. This unit is quiet, with a very large fan located at the bottom of the unit to provide efficient cooling. At 400 watts, it provides ample power for my needs. The instore price was about $13.00 higher than the online price of $49.99, but I just asked for the online price, and they complied. All in all, this is a great deal for the money!

|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMy original computer power supply "bit the dust". I had the Geek Squad repair my computer only to find that the issue was the original power supply needed to be replaced. Therefore, they replaced my original DELL power supply with this one which is stock at Best Buy. So far, my computer has been running great, so for the price, I can't complain. It certainly beats having to buy a completely new tower as all of the other hardware was fine. Bottom line: I see no cons with this power supply.

Does what it should.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis power supply does exactly what it should and isn't too noisy. It is a little higher priced than it should be, but it is very convenient to be able to swing by a Best Buy store and pick one up without having to wait for one to be shipped from an online store in order to save about $10. Good basic power supply that should work in just about any modern PC unless you have one of the latest, high powered graphics cards.

works great and quiet!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI liked this product especially cause it was so quiet compared to the old one I had, it gave me a headache every time I turned our computer on! It was so loud!! This product not only is compatible but not expensive as well.

Works perfectly for a value power supply
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was forced to buy this because my power supply crapped out and I needed a quick (and temporary) replacement. My intention was to buy the cheapest power supply I could find to tide me over until I bought a replacement quality power supply. Well, this one has been working fine for a few months now with no issues I don't think I will spend any more money on a fancier one. Also, fan is silent. I measured the sounds coming from the various fans and my chassis fans are a lot noisier than the power supply's fan.

Nice replacement part
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendMy dell vostro won't power up at all talked to the geek squad guy and he mentioned likely either the power or the motherboard. This was the cheapest power unit in the store and pop it in a few min, it did the job nicely. There are plenty connectors.

Excellent value for the price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendGood 400 Watt supply with all the connectors one could need, including an innovative ATX 20+4 setup with a 20 pin main plug and the +4 separate plug so whether you have an older motherboard with a 20 pin connector or a newer one using the 24 pin connector, this supply will work. Also has a good mix of older 4 pin molex style peripheral connectors and newer SATA plugs.

Great replacement power supply
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a great power supply to have around the house. Imagine it, your power supply just cut out and there is no resurrection. The stores will more than likely be closed, but if you had a power supply like this around the house you can at least get your computer running again. The one caveat I have with this power supply is it being only 400 watts. Not bad to use in a older pc. But if you have a huge machine with a graphics card to match.. you may want to make sure this would be able to power it on.

Q: QuestionWhat's the maximum amps available on the +12 V rail?I've been thinking about purchasing a GTX 750 Ti video card. It requires a minimum of 20 amps on a +12 V rail would this power supply be sufficient to run it?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It depends on the rest of the system. The Dynex 400w PSU, if you dissect it, is only rated for 250w continuous power. See this review: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2008/05/13/getting_best_buy_on_power_supply/2#.U1kcY1VdXHo If the rest of the system has anything more than basic components, then the answer might be no. Best Buy carries a Thermaltake 430w PSU that would be better, and is only $5 more: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/430w-tr2-atx-power-supply/9827301.p?id=1218179698427&skuId=9827301&st=categoryid$abcat0507009&cp=1&lp=3 Alternatively, you could go for the Corsair taht is only a little more and is a really great PSU in terms of quality: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/cx-series-modular-cx750m-750w-atx-power-supply/8324202.p?id=1218872214205&skuId=8324202&st=categoryid$abcat0507009&cp=1&lp=1 It will also allow further upgrades down the line, and would easily go into your next system.

Q: Questionwill the Dynex™ - 400-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply work with a Dell Optiplex 740
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It should not be a problem but to double check, look at the back of your powersupply and make sure the plug port which protrudes from the back of your DELL chassis will work otherwise it should not be a problem. On the upside, Best Buy will replace it if it doesn't and give you full credit.
