Beware
Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendI have used these dvd's for a significant amount of recording. The first three spindles of 50 were great! I had may be one per 50 which ended up as coasters. The packaging was gray at the time. I had read reviews on other web sites where a lot of people were bashing them and I countered with an excellent review. That was until my latest purchase of three 50 count spindles (package was changed to blue). They were on sale and VERY cheap. Their quality, however, has apparently dwindled. I have had no problem burning data dvds, but when burning movies I have had approximately one out of five unusable coasters. Of those which were successful, only about 50% would play in both of my DVD players. Due to the wasted time in burning, I am no longer purchasing "cheap" DVDs.

Varying quality
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have bought 3 50-pack spindles of Dynex DVDs, and they have been of varying quality. I bought the first two when they were on sale. I have two DVD recorders and a computer with a DVD burner. I bought one DVD+R and the other DVD-R. I have a cheap DVD recorder that only records on DVD+R and I didn't have too many coaster toasters. I have a better DVD recorder that goes both ways and bought DVD-R discs for that one. I recently bought a third spindle that wasn't as good. I have used many brands in my recorders, and even the major brands have had quite a few coaster toasters too.

Buyer Beware
Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendThese are a really good price, but if you read my review on the Dynex CD-R's you will see a much different story. I use these often, and there are many times that my clients are unable to view them on their DVD player when I put a movie on it for them. However, I am able to get them to work in all of my personal DVD players. So I have no idea. I put their same movie onto a name brand DVD-R, and there is not a problem. Not a bad item, just procede with caution. I have never had a problem using these as Data discs however. (to store MP3/Pictures on)

Never, ever again!!!
Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendI actually give it NO STARS but the site wouldn't allow me to. I have used all sorts of brands of DVD's to burn media. High end stuff to the cheapest of the cheap... and this one takes the cake. This is the very first time I have used Dynex so I can't say that they weren't good at some point, but these are just garbage. You will end up throwing out half the stack by the time you finish these off. Too many times after you burn the info, if you look at the underside of the disc you can see actual spots that data wasn't burned to, thus causing skips and just non readable info. Even at the lowest setting possible. Before I used these I could burn my media and delete it off of my computer (Because of my low GB capacity... time to upgrade) but I learned not to do that with these DVDs.... very disappointing, time consuming and just downright unreliable. ***I NEVER review products unless they are really great or really bad.... this is the 2nd bad review I have given in my life!!!***

Absolute Junk!!! Do not waste your time and money!
Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendFirst of all, I burn a lot of DVD's so I 'm not just trying this out for the first time. On average I go through a 50-Disc spindle in about a week and a half so needless to say I have just about used every brand out there with no problems at all. But these DVD's are absolute and total garbage. They would make a nice and shiny coaster to set your cocktail on. Seriously, that is about all that they are good for. OK, here are the issues I had: as soon as I put the disc in my optical drive sounded like a mini-lawnmower, I really thought that my laptop was going to self-destruct. But the biggie is that they just do not work. I tried 10 different disc and out of all of that only ONE actually completed the burn. 1 out of 10= Not Good! I'm taking them back tomorrow for the memorex that they carry, it's a few dollars more but after that it will be money well spent!

Great Discs
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI haven't had any problems with this brand. Sure, there will be a few hit and misses with any spindle of discs. Some dvd players can't play the discs. I have 2 dvd players and 2 playstations that play these. When friends borrow my movies sometimes thier dvd player can't read it. You can sometimes trick your dvd player into playing burned movies by playing a burned music cd first.. If you have problems with something other than that, it's either your dvd burner, your software, burn speed, or PC.

Coasters Anyone?
Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friendI jumped at the cheap price and picked up 3 spindles...big mistake. The first 2 discs I inserted into my burner could not be written to / was not recognized as a DVD+R...tried these discs on 2 other systems w/ the same results. A total of 7 out of 150 discs went straight into the trash because of this. Of the rest, 1/2 failed during the write process or could not be read after a "successful" burn. What a waste! If you're considering buying these substandard DVD+R's...DON'T! Buy these and you're likely to end up with a stack of "coasters". You're better off spending a few bucks more for better quality discs.

Pay attention to the speed!!!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendYou have to pay attention to the speed limitation! I have used these discs on a number of occaisions and I have noticed you can flub a bit if your drive attempts to write faster than 16x but so long as you stay in that range you really have very little to worry about. The product is exactly what it says it is and you really can't fault it for that. A good cheap alternative if you use it properly!!!
