Great Sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this digital optical audio cable to work with our Toshiba Soundbar and wireless subwoofer. We chose it because it was fairly well priced for what we were looking for and it ended up working perfectly with it. I had it plugged into our cable box at first and it worked well sound wise but the surround sound feature really did not work with a soundbar. Then hubby plugged it straight into our Samsung Flat Screen and now the sound is crisp, clear, and loud! I feel like it would be silly to spend more on a cable if the sound quality is this good with one of the affordably priced cables.

Happy to use this one. The reason why i consider this is very durable and it makes the quality product at a great price. Yes! I highly recommend this to all of my friends.

Great optical for basic connection

I used this to connect my other tv which has a horrible built in speakers to a sound bar. It performed as advertised. I have another more expensive optical cable which I tried too and there was no discernable difference, quality of sound was the same. I gave it 4 stars for durability because I have not used it that long yet.

Reliable Cable

Do you research and you'll discover that there's hardly any noticeable difference between the $8 HDMI cable from Amazon and the $350 "premium" cable from Best Buy. This is no different. Light passes through a fiber optic cable or it doesn't. I get wonderful 5.1 sound using this cable and it's 1/4 the price I've paid for optical cables in the past.

For optical cables I don't believe that you will hear any difference from a lower priced cable and a really "high-end" cable. Save your money for other things.

- A:Answer probably not, usually this connects mainly to surround sound equipment, unless the cable box has a direct optical input.

Q: QuestionNumber of optical output/input.(2 parts)Although noticing a connector for fiber optics, I haven't used, or seen fiber optics and advantages. Is this something holding me back because of a mere cable that I should be using, or do I need extensive digital back up to run? At most optical fiber has one receptacle on a computer, the another on a sound module (perhaps the same said for non-proprietary Home Theater setups). Is assuming the input and output transmits and otherwise responds through the same cord correct?

Q: QuestionConnecting to a Samsung DVD playerI am having trouble using this cable to connect and separate use age of my samsung DVD player, a Visio tv thru a AT&T uverse box. It won't allow me to use the DVD separately from the tv. When se Witching from the pre set channel 3 to the comp link both the tv and DVD player come thru the Sony sound bar.
