Great vacuum for our challenging home.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am amazed by the performance of this vacuum. I has great suction and maneuverability. We have a cat and a German Shepherd/St. Bernard mix dog (or pony :-)) that sheds constantly and this machine has no problem collecting their fir. It works equally well on both hardwood and carpeting. No complaints.

The best keeps getting better
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We owned our first Dyson 22 yrs ago, a second 15yrs ago, and they're both still running but it was time for a new one given the best buy deal of the day for this model. Very strong suction and operation. The best so far. Most products get cheaper and less capable over time as cost reductions and profit demands take over. This Dyson gets better which is the right way to look at product evolution. Maximize design effectiveness. This is it. Only caveat, still heavy. All 3 we have owned over the years weigh about 17lbs. They really need to lighten these up. Were not getting any younger.

Good Vacuum
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When using the hand held attachments the hose is awkward to keep straight when used in close proximity to vacuum unit. That is the reason I have given 4 rather than 5 stars. Dyson should supply a storage container for additional parts. This particular unit came with 5 attachments. After vacuuming, if you leave residue from vacuuming in holding tank until next use, I have yet to smell a normal "vacuum stench" from dirt, dander, and animal fur. I purchased as Deal of the Day, however, I would not purchase at full price. Suction is great straight from the box. After using make sure to clean filter and holding tank prior to it becoming full. Suction has not been the same since first use. Still has good suction but not great.

Powerhouse and Versatile
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dyson Ball Animal is a powerhouse of a vacuum. This vacuum leaves noticable areas of clean carpet. We love how the arm detaches and gives you a suction hose, thereby eliminating the need for 2 differing vacuums! The ball design gives you incredible manuverability making this this the perfect household vacuum!

Best Vacuum Purchased
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had multiple vacuums over the last eight years I’ve lived where I live, I had my carpet replaced three years ago and I had some standard vacuum and I thought it did the trick, no. Once I started using my Dyson it pulled up so much dirt/sand/dust in the first two times vacuuming my common area, and my carpet looks and smells new! Definitely worth the invested!

Q: QuestionWhen i use the attachments the hose wont stay stretched out and is a constant battle. I wish I'd never have bought this vacuum I dont understand how I'm the only one with this problem.
Asked by Bl522.
- A:Answer I HATE our Dyson and its vacuum hose, it is the most difficult thing I've ever tried to use. We've had this vacuum for three years now, so I'm irritated that their "help" person says it should stretch over time. It doesn't. And the vacuum won't stay standing vertical either, it keeps unclicking and falling over, meaning I have to constantly stand it up again. If I had known three years ago that this vacuum would cause me so many headaches I NEVER would have purchased it, and I will never touch another Dyson product because of it. What stupid engineering! If and when you can get the hose to stretch out even a little bit, then it kinks over where you hold it with your hand. All the suction is then gone and your wand is useless. I just finished using it this morning to vacuum the tile floors of my bathrooms and I had to stop because I'm so frustrated with it. What a joke!

Q: QuestionWhat is the gray button next to the power button used for
Asked by Lori.
- A:Answer Hello Lori, this is Kelly with Dyson. The gray button on your Dyson Ball Animal, located next to the power button, will disable your machine's brush bar. When your machine is powered on and reclined, the brush bar will automatically be on. If you are vacuuming a more delicate carpet or bare floor surface, you can turn that off to vacuum with just suction power. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

Q: QuestionWhy do pet owners incure a $100 price difference from the multi floor technology? It makes no sense to me... pet hair is like any other debris to be removed.
Asked by previousDysonowner.
- A:Answer Hi there! Thank you for your interest in the Dyson Ball Animal. The Animal version and Multi-Floor version are the same. However, the Animal comes with more tool attachments one of which is great for pet hair. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Service

Q: QuestionI have this vacuum & love it but it smells so badly no matter how much I clean the filter. Any suggestions other than replacing often which is expensive. Also, what's the diff bet the replacement pre-filter for $29.99 and the post motor filter for $50+?
Asked by Bulkylvr5.
- A:Answer Hi there, its Tameka with Dyson. I am very sorry to hear that your Dyson has an odor. Along, with washing the filters, we recommend cleaning the cyclone with a can of compressed air and checking the unit for an obstruction. The pre filter is inside the cyclone. The post filter is also the HEPA filter and is located in the ball near the motor of the unit. Both filters are washable and can be reused for the life of the machine. If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please feel free to email us directly at [email protected]. We are happy to help! Best wishes, Tameka Dyson Customer Service

Q: QuestionWhen you empty it, how do you clean it up and insure that those little spouts are kept open?
Asked by barb.
- A:Answer Hi Barb. It's Vince with Dyson. We normally recommend using a can of compressed air in tandem with your brush accessory to keep the part you described clear of any dust build up. We will be happy to provide additional maintenance tips via email at [email protected]. Best wishes, Vince P.
