Picked this up on a massive sale. Very happy I did. Very powerful. Some have said too powerful for drapes etc, but I like the power. It’s both kind of gross and at the same time satisfying to pull all the junk out my carpets I thought I was getting with my battery powered Dyson. If you are considering this model make sure you understand that it has quirks. 1. The lack of filters is treated as a feature. It is, and it isn’t. In the case of this one it means the bin is only half the size it looks like it is. See my photo. Why? Because the fill line is absolutely NOT a suggestion. It is RED for a reason. The fill line on others is not. I wouldn’t even risk approaching it based on the reports from others who’ve had their motors burn out. And the instructions that come with this model reinforce this. 2. This vacuum cannot be used on fine particulate in large quantities ( drywall dust, too much pet/people dander). This relates back the lack of filters. Debris is separated via suction, not any sort of physical barrier. Dust can accumulate over time and lead to issues. If you have a lot of pets, like to woodwork and use your house vacuum to pick up any amount of drywall dust I’d suggest a different model. 3. I believe Dyson knows that they over engineered this model in the name of innovation, which has led to half of the dust bin acting as a pseudo air filter via standoff volume instead of just having a filter that never really gets that dirty to begin with. I’ve heard that this model is (or is going to be) discontinued and I’d bet it because of returns from consumers who use this like any other vacuum and fill it to the brim. 4. It’s huge and sometimes awkward to move in tight spaces. All that being said, Best Buy had an offer I didn’t refuse and I’m prepared to baby this vacuum and hope to get many years from it.

I've owned numerous vacuums over the years, and this is by far the BEST one I've ever purchased. The suction is phenomenal, and emptying the collector is a breeze! I was skeptical of the whole bagless/filterless claim, but it's very much true. My wife is the proud owner of TWO dusty and furry housecats, who both insist on shedding everywhere. The incredible amount of dirt, dust, hair, and debris that we collected on the first day of use was astonishing. It almost grossed me out to know that our previous vacuum left all of this crud beneath us. We also purchased the pet hair attachment, and it works as expected. We've been using it quite frequently over the past few weeks, and I'm happy to announce we haven't lost ANY suction. I'm definitely a fan, and regret not making this purchase sooner.

Dyson vacuum are great vacuum. I got this from Bestbuy during their sale. It is a powerful vacuum and does an excellent cleaning but it’s a little bit bulky. Personally it is just right for me but if your looking for a lighter one, this is not for you. Overall its a premium vacuum and for the price i got during Bestbuy sale i am happy with my purchase.

Second Dyson vacuum I've owned. First one was the little animal one with the purple ball. Still going strong after 7yrs. Finally I could upgrade to the bigger one. Used it today and it didn't let me down.

The Dyson vacuum works great, but my rating is low only because of the Best Buy website info: The Best Buy website claims the vacuum I purchased has a "retractable cord". I mostly bought it for that reason because none of other Dyson vacuums were listed as having a "retractable cord", so I bought that one. It does NOT have a "retractable cord". But I kept it anyway because the price was good.
