Description
Dyson DC65 Animal Complete Bagless Upright Vacuum: This vacuum cleans carpets and hard surfaces, with a deep-reaching rotating brush bar, strong suction power and an innovative ball design that swivels and pivots to help you clean hard-to-reach edges and corners. It also comes with additional tools, like the soft dusting brush and Stiff bristle brush, for a versatile array of cleaning options.
Features
Upright vacuum cleaner for carpets, hard floors and stairs
Tackles all your vacuuming chores with a special focus on pet hair that tends to embed deep into the fibers of carpets and upholstery.
Tangle-free turbine tool for targeting dirt and hair
Uses counter-rotating heads instead of brush bars so pet hair and other debris won't catch and wind around it. Suctions dirt from all directions for effective cleaning.
Motorized brush bar reaches deep for dirt
Stiff nylon bristles move carpet pile and get at ground-in dirt. The brush bar is more powerful than previous models, but can be turned off to protect delicate rugs and preserve hard floor surfaces.
Soft dusting brush for upholstery and delicate surfaces
Fine nylon bristles gently remove dust while a felt strip down the middle of the brush helps protect surfaces.
Stiff bristle brush for dried-on dirt and mud
Stiff and angled bristles work on carpet or upholstery to break up stubborn, ground-in dirt.
Strong suction at the cleaner head
Automatically adjusts to different floor types to improve overall suction.
Bagless Radial Root Cyclone technology for increased suction
No more clogged bags or filters. Flow efficiencies reduce turbulence and preserve air pressure while trapping microscopic particles in the inner cyclones.
Easy maneuvering around furniture and baseboards
The pivoting ball makes steering easier. Since more technology resides inside the ball, there's less external machinery to interfere with your turns.
Easy emptying features
Releases dirt and debris into the trash with the press of a button. The clear bin lets you easily see when it needs emptying.
Customers enjoy the DC65 Animal Complete Bagless Upright Vacuum's powerful suction and superior carpet cleaning capabilities. Many appreciate its ease of use, lightweight design, and the useful attachments. The long cord and overall performance also receive positive feedback. However, some customers find the price to be a significant drawback.

I love love love my dyson! I have 2 cats and everytime I vacuum I am astounded at the amount of cat hair it picks up. I did the test where I vacuumed my house with my old Hoover Windtunnel and then vacuumed with the dyson and oh my goodness! The dyson was picking up baking soda that I sprinkled on an area rug from MONTHS ago! And the cat hair that my old vacuum left behind...disgusting! (see picture...the aftermath with dyson!) I only wish the hose attachment was easier to use.

Never really realized how much debris was in our carpet until we started using the Dyson DC65. The clear container shows how much debris it picks up. Really easy to turn and move around to. Just don't use it on any small light weight area rugs. It'll eat it up. I was a little skeptical with how expensive it was at first. After using it the first time we decided it was well worth it.

This vacuum is beyond awesome. I've always wanted a Dyson as I heard so many great things about them and this vacuum did not disappoint when it arrived. This is my first Dyson and I'm never going back!
I have pets, kids, and animals on carpet. This vacuum can handle it all. It doesn’t clog. We have an apartment and it moves with ease around our apartment and gets into all the tight corners.
It glides easily on carpet and hardwood and it has a clear bin that you simply have to empty to clean. No bags needed! It's well worth the price of this amazing vacuum.

Over the years, cleaning has become quite the job for me. Being a work-from-home-mom, it actually IS my job. And one of my tools of the trade is the best vacuum cleaner I can get my hands on. There’s only one that cleans better than any other vacuum across carpets and hard floors and that’s a DYSON! After having tried so many different styles and brands, I can confidently say, I’ll never buy anything but a Dyson. Currently, we have three different models in our home used for various tasks but my favorite is the bagless upright, the Dyson DC65 Animal. Just as the name suggests, this particular model is designed for homes with animals.
Much like the 75% of US homes that have a combination of carpets and hard floors, ours does as well. I’d say that 70 percent of our home is hard flooring with the other 30% being carpeting and a few rugs. While most vacuums can handle the task of switching between flooring types, I prefer the way the Dyson does it. The specially designed cleaning head automatically adjusts for floor/carpet height without ever having to switch a dial. This means I can vacuum my living room hard floor and proceed right onto vacuuming the carpet rug. With the press of a button you can switch between turning the roller brush on (for carpet) and off (for hard floors).
Now for our carpet rooms. I find the Dyson DC65 Animal to be my best friend. Why? Well, we have a lab puppy and she can be quite the troublemaker. Just this week, she snagged a bag of Goldfish crackers, tore through the bag and apparently danced on them until my daughter’s bedroom carpet was covered in bright orange cracker pieces. It was quite the mess!
I pulled out the Dyson DC65 Animal and put it to the test. In a front and back motion, an entire strip of carpet was cracker free. The amazing suction power makes it easy and quick to vacuum a room because you don’t have to go over areas multiple times. One notable update to this new model is that the brush bar power increased by 25% for superior carpet cleaning. Also, a new configuration of bristles dig deeper into carpets to remove more dirt!
What really seals the deal for this vacuum cleaner is the results. After just one room, you can see how much fur was left behind by our 4 shedding pets and captured in the see-through Dyson bin.
The easiest part is the one-click emptying feature of the Dyson bin. It easily unclips from the main unit and a single button drops open the bottom of the bin so you can dump the dust, fur and debris right into the waste basket.
This vacuum is really an all-in-one cleaning tool when it comes to removing dust, dirt and pet hair from the home. It includes a cleaning wand and accessories to tackle hard to reach jobs like the dust bunnies that collect near the ceiling. And the 180AW of suction makes sure you get every last bit of dust lurking. Also new, the remodeled airflows are designed to help remove more dirt, dust, and allergens from the home.
Features I LOVE
35 feet of cord – I can easily plug in the vacuum into the living room and continuously vacuum through the living room, into the kitchen, down the hall and into my son’s bedroom. At that point I need to move the cord to finish the remaining bedrooms and bathrooms.
bagless technology – I’ve never been a fan of bagged vacuums. This one has a bagless bin so you can dump depris into the garbage can, clip it back in and keep going. No extra expense!
13-1/2″ cleaning path width – The wide cleaning path means I can vacuum rooms quicker and the edge reaching capability of the cleaning head means I can vacuum right up to baseboards without coming back behind with the wand.

We had a Bissell vacuum before and we thought it was a pretty good vacuum and had it for about 4 years. It then quick sucking and picking anything up except when you use the hand tool part. We decided to look for another vacuum, especially one that picks up dog hair and decided to see what all the fuss was about the Dyson vacuums. Well this vacuum sucks... literally! We have never known how much dirt was actually in our rugs until we used this bad boy on our carpets and WOW did it pick up so much more than the other vacuum! Thoroughly satisfied with this vacuum! Now we know what all the fuss is about with Dyson vacuums!
It is a good weight, not too light or too heavy. The hand tools work very well. It is easy to clean. Great vacuum!

I'm beyond impressed. As a guy, I don't do a whole lot of vacuuming. I hate it... almost as much as mowing the lawn. It takes forever, it's too much work, and seems like I'm going over the same place way too many times. Maybe we just needed a better vacuum. My wife wouldn't tell me anything she wanted for Christmas, so she gets appliances! Anywho, turns out she loves it, and I kinda do to. I've cleaned more with this Dyson in the last 30 days than I have in the last 8 years with her. Maybe I'm a horrible person, but at least the review is honest.
Pros: Washable filters. Super easy dust bin removal and emptying process. Extremely powerful cleaning, so you're not covering the same area multiple times. Very easy to maneuver and handle, twist you're wrist to change directions with the machine, no more pulling back to yourself just to move over and attack a corner. Fairly lightweight so no complaints about getting it out.
Cons: I only have a few minor complaints about this thing: They give you 4 attachments for it, and there's only two places on the machine you can store them... so you have to find another drawer to cram those into. The cord really should be auto retracing at this price, if you read the manual you're only supposed to wind it up counterclockwise, and the little tab that you loop the cord around at the top feels flimsy. There is no release switch/latch to tilt the machine, you really have to force it back which makes me feel like I'm going to break it, which consequently makes me feel like it's not going to stay upright when I put it back upright. And for some reason, I don't care for the hose/handle extension setup, it works... but it's inconvenient.

I've heard a lot about Dyson vacs and they really do deliver results!
Pros: the most powerful suction; I actually used a Sears high-end vac first and then used the Dyson on the same carpet and still pulled up more dirt and dust! This upright is incredibly agile and using it throughout the house was excellent. The dyson products are also very light for their suction power.
Cons: I'm concerned about Dyson's use of plastic in regards to wear and tear, although it seems to be very strong plastic and of a very high quality build. Prices are still very high, but you get what you pay for.
A:Hi it's Joe from Dyson,
Thank you for your inquiry. The main difference between DC41 and DC65 is that DC65 has 25% more power in the brushbar motor to remove dust and dirt from carpets. The cyclones in DC65 have been re-tuned, meaning that the geometry of the inlets as well as the diameter of the vortex finders have been modified to allow more airflow to pass through them.
Best wishes,
Joe

A:Hi it's Joe from Dyson,
The DC50 Animal is our compact upright vacuum.
The DC65 series is available in multiple variants, including the Animal and Animal Complete. The difference is in the cyclone color and the included tools. The Animal Complete features the same tools as the animal along with the multi-angle tool, stiff bristle brush, our Zorb carpet maintenance powder and an exclusive tote to store the extra tools.
If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
Best wishes,
Joe

A:Extremely easy. Pullback isn't that bad. Most vacuums make you feel like you're fighting the power head just to get back for your next swipe, this just seems to flow. It will work on hardwood, but Dyson cautions the user in the manual not to leave it in one place to long, or you could damage the floor. There is a button which turns off the brush for hardwood floor, so you're cleaning with suction only. That's how Dyson recommends you clean the hardwood floors with this model.
A:Simply the number of tools/accessories included. You get more with the "complete" version. I have the complete and don't use half the tools. In hindsight I would just purchase the NON-COMPLETE version. It's all marketing.
A:Yes, it can reach under these areas with a decent amount of clearance. I can vacuum a few inches under the couch with ease and picks up at the edges as well. It can be used on carpet and hard floors, it automatically adjusts the height of the cleaning brush and there is a simple easy to push button that turns the beater bar on and off.
A:Hi it's Joe from Dyson
Thank you for your interest in our technology. Our machines are safe for use on multiple floor types and the brush bar on the DC65 is designed to be turned off for use on bare floors, delicate rugs and looped carpeting.
Of course, we always recommend contacting the manufacturer of your flooring regarding the proper care and maintenance of their product.
Best wishes,
Joe
