    Synopsis

    Earth to Echo
A group of young friends come to the aid of a mysterious visitor from a distant planet in this kid-friendly sci-fi adventure in the tradition of E.T. and The Goonies. Shortly after a massive construction project begins driving out the residents of their serene Nevada neighborhood, best friends Tuck (Astro), Munch (Reese Hartwig), and Alex (Teo Halm) notice that their mobile phones are being flooded with a series of enigmatic, encoded messages. Determined to discover the source of the code as their families, too, pack up and prepare to go their separate ways, the trio venture out into the desert and find a diminutive alien they nickname "Echo," who needs their help to get back to his ship. Although their quest is complicated by a group of sinister construction workers on a mission to reach the ailing extraterrestrial first, Tuck, Munch, and Alex soon receive some unexpected help from their classmate Emma (Ella Linnea Wahlestedt). Together with Emma, these three friends might just have a shot at getting Echo back to the stars before he's captured and imprisoned by the shadowy figures who are closing in fast. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Like many movies previously done, Earth to Echo is filmed in a first person point of view from a group of kids who discover an an Alien Map and follow it to discover an alien in need of assistance to get his ship fixed and get back home, while the government tries to track him down to study him...of course. The movie is ok, not the best. Its kind of a simplified version of Super 8, which was an excellent movie. The acting in this by some of the boys is just terrible. The storyline is serviceable and the alien itself is pretty cool. The Blu Ray boasts excellent HD quality and includes a handful of special features. Worth at least one watch.

I bought this movie with my grandkids in mind. It is a family friendly movie that centers on 3 friends who discover an alien trying to return to his own world. The main themes revolve around friendship, kids making difficult decisions on their own and the importance of helping others in trouble. It is essentially an updated ET and it has some aspects of The Goonies as well. The style in which it was filmed is somewhat distracting and there are some parts of the movie that are rather far fetched but it is enjoyable for both kids and adults.

Earth to echo is a family aimed film that follows four teenagers who live in a neighborhood which is going to be flattened to make way for a brand new free-way. Things start to go odd since the construction workers arrived, like mobile phones going crazy and electrical devices malfunctioning. The teenagers suspect that there is more to the 'so called' construction workers and go on an adventure which uncovers more than they would every imagine.

I was soooooo excited to get this game for my daughter. I was bothered when she didn't want to watch it after I had already paid for it. But once we started watching it, she really got into it, and has requested to watch it again and again. There are some scary moments for the kids but I wouldn't even call it scary, maybe mildly intense, but that's only because the movie draws you in in the way they filmed it. A good family movie in time for the Holidays.

My 12 year old daughter likes this movie. The characters are interesting: all young teenage friends who are about to be separated when their neighborhood is demolished to make way for a new highway. Their last night together they encounter a cute little owl-like "alien" machine and help it to rebuild its ship. There's nothing outstanding about the movie, although the special effects are well done. But it's a good story about friendship.

can't really think of anything positive to say about this; the child characters aren't interesting, the kid that narrates the story does a terrible job and sounds bored as he's doing it, the story was a complete rip-off, which is fine if it's at least interesting or entertaining but this wasn't. and the cute little robot/alien? he's not even in it that much. even after the kids find him, he spends most of his time hidden. failed on every level.

"Earth To ECHO" ~ Fun through the eyes of a group of teenagers that are fast friends in an ever changing society full of technology (present day). Story line premise is fun and quirky...you can't help but like these awkward and geeky teens as they are guided to an Alien being that has crashed it's space ship on Earth! Great special effects in the last 1/2 hour of the movie...before it's all about the teens... Enjoy!

In the vein of E.T. but smaller emotionally

The plot follows the basic framework of the classic, E.T. (i.e., children help a stranded alien to return home). While the effects are pleasingly modern and the "found footage" conceit adds an interesting lens, the overall impact doesn't hit the emotional marks of that earlier touchstone. But, preteens should enjoy the action. We like the flexibility that the DVD/Blu-Ray/Digital combo package offers.
