This Mesh Router System is a BEAST!
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. After extensive research, I went with this Mesh Router System. Less than 2 years earlier, I purchased a Linksys Velop, dual band mesh router system (2 nodes). I should be able to download 700mbps through xfinity. The day before I purchased my Eero pro system, I was only pulling down 70mbps (it was dying). Obtaining a DHCP lease from my Xbox and Ecobee was nearly impossible. I should have gotten a few more years out of it. I’ll never go Linksys again. The app on the eero system is MUCH better. The Linksys App was duplicating my devices. I can group my devices associated with my kids. I no longer need my Disney Circle to pause connectivity with my children. I think my only gripe is Eero wants me to pay for ad blocking, and spyware tracking. It just provides stats without any detail. I am on a month long trial at the moment. Not really worth it in my opinion (no justification for me to pay 2.99 a month). It is a bit pricey, but I had a hundred bucks in coupons from BB and NewEgg had it listed for 40 bucks cheaper. BB matched the price, so do some price comparisons before purchasing. My wife originally balked at the pricing. Now, she sings it’s praises. I can easily pull up my ring cams without the wait I had with my Linksys Velop. You won’t be disappointed with this system!!

Wifi issues fixed!!
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. My son started complaining about being kicked off his Xbox One when playing online. Keep losing wifi or not enough speed. So I bought a high boost/high range router but couldn't get it to work. To that back and picked up this system. With this system it came with 3 boxes. I hard wired the 1st box to the router in the basement, put the second one on the main level, then the 3rd box is in my sons room and hard wired to his Xbox One. Since then he has had no issues. You can wire up to each box for internet or use the wifi. So now we use the comcast wifi for our home network and use the eero network for all of our phones, tablets, gaming & guest use. Highly recommend buying this system if your having wifi strength issues! Also you download an app in which you can monitor which devices are the most data etc. Can even do restrictions and turn off times for the little ones (devices) that want to play online all night!

A+++++ Product
||Posted .I live in an old 4700 sq. ft. house that has thick plaster and metal lathe behind all the walls so I got so tired of having multiple routers throughout my home and the struggle of trying to hide ethernet cords. I bought the eero pro, and subsequently one additional eero pro and one becon, and the internet works exceptionally well now! Awesome product, 100% recommend.

Extreme Quality, plus Apple HomeKit!
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.I replaced a Netgear nighthawk combo modem/router which worked pretty good for speed and coverage but would not reach into corners of garage to connect some smart switches/plugs. For a couple days, I had the eero system connected to the this original modem/router combo (and didn’t even shut down the two 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz WiFi signals from original and eero worked fine. Picked up an Arris Surfboard “modem only” with 3.1 docs for future faster speeds (currently we get 200MB download speed From Mediacom) and connected to the eero Pro wi-fi system. Works great. While this is an expensive system, the quality of the eero hardware is exceptional. Looks like a product you’d expect from Apple (iPhone, Mac, etc). We use apple HomeKit for home automation, so is pumped I’m the worst-if system ties into Apple HomeKit. The quality of the app that is used during set up is excellent. Very easy to set up and helps you optimize placement of each of the three Wi-Fi hardware units. I have one on each end of the house and one in the garage and the mesh system works flawlessly. It’s really great being able to quickly check your Internet and Wi-Fi output on a smart device. The “far away from original modem/router” smart switches and plugs that previously did not work, now work great. I highly recommend this system.

Q: QuestionFor the eero Pro system, how do the satellite boxes get their signal? Are they required to be connected via an Ethernet cable? It looks like the beacons are similar to powerline adapters. Am I off base?
Asked by DuaneL.
- A:Answer The EERO Pro, like the EERO Home Wifi System, both transmits and receives over WiFi -- no Ethernet or Powerline adapters necessary...essentially, your "main" unit (with Eero gen 1 or Pro, it can be ANY unit) connects as the "main" router to your modem...every Eero Gen 1 and Pro comes with two ports which can be used as incoming, or outgoing. With the beacon system, the main router is the non-beacon. You can then add on Eero Gen 1s, Pros, or Beacons to your network...any (logical) number of Eeros can be set up in tandem and, furthermore, a box of three EEROs is NOT a married pair. I've installed anywhere from 1 to 9 in a single home, depending on your needs...if you get a 3-pack and only need 2, the third can be used at an entirely different location as a single unit or added onto a different set (I.E. - 1-EERO studio or 4-EERO office) They all communicate over WIFI, however, in pre-run wired homes, each one can be plugged into the ethernet network. Albeit, this is unnecessary. Likewise, PCs, TVs and other devices can be plugged into an EERO (satellite or main) and will act as if it is on LAN. Think of satellite EEROs as range extenders / access points, HOWEVER, due to their smart appliance nature and chipset, there is essentially no handoff delay and your entire network is seamless. Furthermore, they adapt to their unique install environment to best utilize each device. Tips: 1-Make sure that you ping the install locations and each unit has a strong connection to one another. 2-Don't cheap out and install less than is necessary 3-Likewise, don't overdue it and add too many, as this will cause interference. 4-The Gen 1 or Pro system is, in my professional opinion, far better than the beacons in terms of versatility -- the beacons are designed almost exclusively for hallways / staircases. 5-You can add multiple powerline adapters onto an eero network if you really need to....only in cases of metallic flooring / walls or a concrete basement was this necessary. Expereince *5+ years of in-home and business technical support, smart home, AV, security and network installations in the LA / OC California area.

Q: QuestionFor this 2nd Generation EERO System, if I wanted to add 1 more EERO unit to work with the other 3 (I bought the EERO - Pro Wifi System), what Item or Product number would I need in order to purchase this additional EERO compatible system unit? Thanks.
Asked by Phil.
- A:Answer From my understanding they are all compatible across all their products so you could even go and just buy a beacon with an addition eero and pair it with your current system.

Q: QuestionHi- We have a home out in the country where our only option for internet is a local ISP provider. DSL is our only option and 10mB is fastest we can get out there. Will this WiFi System help ensure we have solid connection and wi-fi throughout the house?
Asked by ConfusedHomeowner.
- A:Answer Yes, the Eero Pro's do a great job of making WIFI available throughout my house, which is 2700 sq. ft. The 3 Eero Pro system will supposedly cover up to 5400 sq. ft., but I can't confirm that. Where the Eero's shine is in setup. It's SUPER easy and automated once you setup the first one. I will say that it did tell me once that one of my Eero's needed better placement, which didn't make sense to me, so I left it as it was, and told it to try again, and it said I "placed like a pro". My only point there is that there might a little lag when they are setting up and so if it tells you the placement needs to be better, you might try again before moving.

Q: QuestionWill I still need a modem for this?
Asked by Sonzon.
- A:Answer Yes, you will still need a modem. This is just a router that needs to be able to communicate to your ISP.

Q: QuestionWe live iNC. Company is frontier. I have terrible connections so I bought a Netgear extender. I We just had guest and they could not get phone calls or email. It was very stressful. Would the Eero system give us a stronger WiFi signal?
Asked by Mla.
- A:Answer I also have Frontier. I was having a problems getting a good single at the other end of the house with Frontier, but when we purchased a smart tv and got Netflix we had a lot of buffering and where the modem was we could not hard wire and ethernet cable. I also could not get my phone on home network from the back of house it was always on LTE. We purchased the Pro WiFi System (3 eeros), 2nd Generation and had geek squad set it up. They enable bridge mode on the modem device. I also use the Ethernet connection for my tv with one of the erros (the erro has and ethernet port the beacons do not). So far it works great. I'm not a tech person that is why geek squad set it up.

Q: Question1) What is the difference between the new second generation and the 1st generation? 2) What is the difference between the beacons and a regular unit? 3) Does the 2nd generation have a 2nd hdmi port on the back to plug in an internet phone?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer 2nd gen has 3 radio bands instead of just 2. Go to their website to find a comparison. No HDMI ports.

Q: QuestionSo I must have an established internet in my home to setup error?
Asked by Bebe1.
- A:Answer The cable company did not want to drill any more holes and install more cable to our home because it was so expensive. They recommended a more suitable wi-fi product at Best Buy’s that had more signal reliability and they saved us a lot of money by selecting the”eero” which worked beautifully.
