I've had this cooktop for 11 months now and use it almost daily. I bought it because my small apartment was crowded with the standard stove and fridge.
I have had no real problems with this. Rice and grains needs a little extra water to not burn before fully cooked. Once anything reaches boiling point, i turn the dial down past the low setting to the "WARM" setting and foods still simmer with a small boil. On the "WARM" setting, temperatures are sure to be still higher than the lowest flame, possibly due to there being a greater amount of surface generating heat than with a small ring of fire.
My only complaint is the small burner never shuts off, even in the off position. It seems to be stuck at "WARM" which i've learned to use when first plugging it in for toasting bread. After around 8 minutes it'll darken bread to black within 8 seconds, which is excellent when I need spontaneous toast.
On the small surface I can actually cook chicken on the "OFF" or "WARM" setting, even though the manual/instructions say it isn't possible
