This egg cooker does just what it says. No annoying alarm or buzzing when it's done, just turns off silently, so must watch your own clock if you wish to know when that will be. Hard boiling: I tried blanching the eggs in cold water right after cooker turned off and the result was just less-than-hard boiled. Then tried same prescribed timing except just letting the eggs cool on their own for approx. 30 mins. This time they came out perfectly hard boiled. All parts are easy to clean.

put in eggs, add water, push the button and when it goes off you have hard boiled eggs. (or medium, or soft) This thing really works and it doesn't take as much time as the traditional way. You should buy it!

I love my little "egg spaceship"! It is great to never worry if my boiled eggs will peel cleanly. After two years this little appliance is still going strong. It takes some practice to get it to make soft boiled eggs but once you get the amount of water just right the eggs cook consistently.
