Nice emergency battery|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
I've had the Generatr for about 6 weeks and I've run it through a number of tests. For background, I've had several travel batteries with USB ports for powering phones and tablets over about a 4 year period. Basics. This is not as small as some other batteries to start with but it has more packed into it than the basic travel battery. It has two USB ports with enough output to charge phone, tablets and plenty of other devices. It also has ports with 12V and 19V output with adapters for devices like laptops. I've been charging it using an AC adapter which was included. More on charging later. Powering devices: I've run the battery through a number of scenarios. First i charged my iPhone 6+ and it took about 2.5 hours to go from 37% to 100% and it still had plenty of power left. I was on a driving business trip and while someone else was driving I used my laptop and got over 3 hours of use without touching my laptop's battery. I also have another laptop at home with a completely dead battery and used it one day for 3.5 hours before the Generatr ran out of juice. Since I love to camp I also tried out an electric cooler (will chill or heat) and it lasted for about 2 hours on the battery. That's not going to last through a weekend of car camping by itself but it has some good uses in a pinch. The ability to plug in a 2- or 3-prong plug into a 110V AC outlet really sets this battery apart from the run-of-the-mill variety that are all over. A big plus: As referenced earlier the standard AC input approach is not the only option for charging the battery. While not included this also has options for input from solar panels available from EnerPlex. I can't speak to them in detail since I don't have one but for real emergency backup I think I'm going to get one in case the power is off for an extended time. The solar option takes a while to charge but when there's nothing else it seems like a great option. Cautions: There are a few things that I don't see as problems but are worth noting. One, it beeps loudly when you turn it on/off and when it runs out of power. So if you are using this while camping and it runs out of power during the night it will wake people up. It also flashed bright orange capacity indicators every few seconds while charging and when it is charging something else. Again, if you are camping the light might not be great in a tent. My solution to that is to charge things before going to sleep and that seems fine. In a real emergency none of that would be the least bit of concern. One final point to be aware of, you can't charge from all output types at once. You choose between 12V, 19V and AC. I assume (but realize now I didn't test it) that the USB ports work with any of the options. Overall, I'm glad to have this for emergencies, camping and car trips.

More power = more charging = happy kids|Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
With the Blizzard of 2016, I set out to find the mother of all charging stations. The idea of spending hours in the dark without phones, tablets and laptops wasn't going to cut it for this modern family of five. Smaller batteries were great for a phone or two but not for a significant event. I settled on the EnerPlex Generatr 100 for more than a couple of reasons. It has full 2.4A USB ports for some of the faster charging devices, it has DC ports and cables to charge laptops, and it had a 110v outlet (which I've never seen in a portable battery). The 110v plug works great and even had enough power to run my sons nebulizer in case of an asthma attack. Its physically larger but not still surprisingly compact for battery of this size. I wouldn't have second thoughts about throwing it in my backpack for a camping or day trip. Overall, the EnerPlex Generatr 100 delivered what it promised and I feel safe knowing that the next time the power goes out .. our family will still have hours .. I mean DAYS ... of entertainment and peace of mind.

Out of Box Failure|Posted .No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I purchased this item very excited. Unfortunately I experienced an out of box failure. The kind folk at BB returned the item for me and gave me a full refund. When I had the product in my hands it was bigger and more bulky that the picture shows. Not recommended if you are traveling. Just my opinion.
