Black Magic
Crazy Love director Dan Clores crafts this two-part, four-hour documentary following the progression of the Civil Rights movements as experienced by the black college basketball players and coaches who witnessed this unprecedented societal upheaval firsthand. Exceptional documentary. Saw the movie when it aired on ESPN and could not wait until it was released. Covers the history of college basketball. Places NC at the center of that history. You realize that a lot of the guys you see coaching at the College and NBA level are "disciples" of Coach McClendon. For example, Avery Johnson sort of came out of nowhere to become a sucessful NBA coach. But the documentary tells you that he did not just come out of nowhere. That he came out of a circle of established, successful coaches, with Coach McClendon being their mentor
