    Synopsis

While transporting his runaway teenage daughter Zoe (Jordan Hinson) back to Los Angeles, U.S. Marshal Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) is derailed by an accident that lands them both in Eureka, a strange, top-secret town populated by geniuses and their families. As a scientist's experiment goes awry, Carter encounters some of the town's quirky residents, starting with the gun-loving Dep. Josefina "Jo" Lupo (Erica Cerra), NASA engineer-turned-auto mechanic Henry Deacon (Joe Morton), Department of Defense liaison Allison Blake (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), and the mysterious bed-and-breakfast operator Beverly Barlowe (Debrah Farentino). When the out-of-control experiment incapacitates Eureka's sheriff, Carter takes over the investigation to find the scientist responsible and, in the midst of mental giants, uses his common-sense approach to problem solving to put an end to the threat. Rather than return to the world they know, Carter and Zoe opt to remain in Eureka, with Carter serving as sheriff and Zoe attending the town's high school. While the residents prove to be quite capable of creating situations that call for a police response, Carter's biggest headaches are brought on by Global Dynamics, a massive research facility that creates technology for both civilian and military use. In the first season of the comedy drama, Carter must deal with a slew of unusual problems, including a crop circle's appearance, a reactivated Cold War-era weapons system, a house that thinks for herself, and rounds of verbal sparring with Nathan Stark (Ed Quinn), the head of Global Dynamics. ~ Michael Chant

I absolutely love this show! It's so funny and imaginative! There i just nothing else like it. I was so excited that I was able to FINALLY find it in stock and in the correct format somewhere! It makes me love Best Buy even more! The season came in good condition. Packaging could've been a little better, but they came unharmed and ready for viewing! Yay! Also, if you like this show, definitley check out Warehouse13! Easily two of my favorite shows ever!

An fun, imaginative Science Fiction series

This is a fun Science Fiction series about a town of geniuses and the inventions they create. The geniuses are high in intelligence but not so much in common sense. That's where the new sheriff, Jack Carter, comes in. He's not as smart but much more practical about things. If this doesn't sound like a strongly positive review then I'm not doing the series justice because it's very good although a little uneven in this first Season.

As uneven as the Sci-Fi (now SyFy) Channel's programming can be, they sure know how to create scripted shows. The best way to describe "Eureka" is "quirky" - and that is a major compliment. The characters, the plots, the absurd, yet entertaining situations make for wonderful family-friendly entertainment. And I laughed and (not quite) cried, which is saying they manage to touch the high and low points of what is best classified as a sci-fi comedy.

This is a show about a town full of science and technology geeks with one "normal" sheriff trying to keep the town from blowing up. The sheriff is the one regular guy among geniuses who some look down upon. Yet he manages to save the world repeatedly when yet another science project goes wrong. The main character is a very likeable guy that fits in although he is different and contributes to the town is his way. Very enjoyable.

We weren't quite sure what to expect from this show, but it was on sale for $10 for season 1 so we got it. It is funny, different, and relatively clean if you have small children. Great show! We went back and got a few more seasons because we enjoyed it so much.
