Great Sound Quality, Very Impressed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Review Even E4 – Glasses for your Ears Best Buy Tech Insider Network Review Programs Summary: Great Sound Quality, Very Impressed, No Show Stoppers. Decent price. Initial Unboxing Impression: I was not sure what to expect, so I included a picture here. No, they are not real wood, just painted plastic. No there is not a cool wood desk stand as is shown on the main website. However, there is a nice enough case that will keep your headphones well protected, which is more than ample. I was happy to see included charging cord (12”), and headphone cables (24”). Sound Quality: This is the real reason you bought them, right? A quick sampling of streaming videos, music, gaming, I found them very well balanced out of the box. I have not played with their software to tweak the sound, I found nothing that needed improvement so far. My comparison, for every day use has been some high end compact in the ear noise canceling headphones that I use for travel and everyday phone calls. The E4 easily outperforms my other set, if for no other reason over the ear, vs in the ear, and the size of the speakers etc. It did a great job of blocking out the noise from my surrounding area by at least 90%. I don’t have other over the ear sets to do side by side comparison. But the sound is plenty rich, and I am very fussy about my speakers in general. This is “just right”. Comfort: Very light weight, I did have some minor throbbing in my ears (like when you sleep on your ear), but it is probably just that I’ve not used over the ear headphones since the 1980’s. Ease of Use: So far, I have paired them to my phone and my computer. I’ll try my home automation device and TV later. Pairing is exactly as you would expect. Turn on the device, discover it, done. There are “on the ear” controls for skip, mute, etc. They are on the left ear. I would have preferred them on the right ear. I can’t envision using them anyway, so it wont matter, but it is nice they are there. I did not find it pleasing for use on the phone for a voice call, but that is not really what I plan to use them for (mostly music). I'll have to load the app to see if there is a setting. It does such a good job blocking the outside noise I could not hear myself talking and there was no feedback in the ear. Hopefully the app has a setting for this. Price: I was not sure what to expect at this price point. The website makes them look more lux than they are, but they work well, and feel good. I think they are a good value at this price point. Conclusion: If you want something that is better performing but more affordable than the top end trendy headphones, I think the H4 strikes a very good balance between performance and price. You will probably have to shell out for longer cables. My charging brick makes a 12” cable not usable. Also, if I were to use these in a plane to watch movies a 24” audio cable is not going to cut it either. It seems they just wanted to check the box of “included cables” without really considering how they might be utilized, both should be at least 2X longer. Anyway, I would recommend these to others.

Great Sounding, Smart Headphones at a Great Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Historically speaking when it comes to Bluetooth headphones I prefer Beats headphones. The thing is. Eats products are very pricey, while they do sound excellent in my opinion, the cost makes them hard to recommend to everyone. These Even H4s sound really good and the best part is that they’re rather affordable compared to Beats Studio3s. This headphone is so smart and intuitive, it features technology that will create an “EarPrint” since everyone’s ears hear sounds differently, this programming will create audio settings based on how you hear/respond to audio. This can be done straight out the box and is rather simple. The look of the headphones is rather nice and stylish. The band seems like it might be easy to break, so be careful. They’re also rather comfortable on the head and not overly cumbersome. If you want a great sounding and affordable Bluetooth over the ear headphone, this makes for a great selection.

Amazing Ear Matching Technology
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upon opening the box and the case, the EVEN H4 Wireless headphones felt like any other set of Bluetooth headphones. The lightweight, combined with the plastic, wood grain, and leather materials presented a sense of quality found in a much lower-priced set of headphones. However, after using the EarPrint software for a hearing test which matched each side for each ear, the perception of low quality was quickly shattered. The EarPrint application (iOS/Android) presents an interface for creating a unique hearing profile for your ears. Multiple profiles can be created depending on the type of music and sound you want to listen to. I was basically blown away by the quality of the sound after stepping through the hearing test. The weareeven.com website reveals that the EVEN H4 headphones were designed by musicians for musicians. While it may not show in the quality of the materials, it definitely shows in the quality of the sound. Pros • The quality of the sound is mind-blowing amazing! • Individual matching of hearing profile for each ear. • 20+ hours of battery life. • Lightweight makes for comfortable all-day wear. • Jack for battery-free wired connection. • Uses Bluetooth 5.0 • Microphone • Frequency range of 20-20,000 Hz • USB-C port for charging Cons • Quality of the materials could be better. • The LED light on the left front shines forward and reflects off of monitor/devices. Summary The EVEN H4 headphones with the EarPrint application provides leading-edge technology for raising the bar on quality music individually fine-tuned and mapped to each ear. Initially, I was going to rank these at four stars due to the quality of the materials. However, the quality of the sound far outweighs any issue with manufacturing materials. If EVEN decides to add noise canceling and better materials, they could easily compete with the likes of Bose and Sony.

Incredible Looks, Sounds and Tech
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Even H4 (glasses for your ears) Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones are the real deal. Wood grain outside ear cups, an assistant named Sarah and special technology that caters to each ears response to music, provide the most all around complete headphones I have tried. Easy to use controls on the outer left ear cup and Earprint make this Even H4 the headphones to own. The title says it all with “Glasses for your Ears.” Much like glasses for your eyes, right and left are independent of each other. These headphones provide the best atmosphere for listening to music while the Earprint technology seamlessly puts sound in balance between the right and the left ears. The Even Earprint app will aid you in getting the best sound combination you could possibly listen to. • Earprint technology is advanced tech that make listening to music more enjoyable. You should set up your first Earprint without the Even H4 app. Then open the app and you will be able to create more Earprints and save them too. • Gorgeous looking wood grain on the right and left ear cup will make you double take a look at the Even H4 headphones. Left and right ear cups are labeled inside the ear cup foam. All the controls are on the left ear cup and are easy to operate. The Even H4 headphones come in a protective case that will easily fit into your luggage or backpack. These headphones fully charged with bring your music to life for 20 hrs! A red LED light on the ear cup tells you the headphones are charging, while a flashing red and green light means low battery. You only have to charge around 1 ½ hrs to get that battery full. A USB-C connection on the headphones to a charger (regular USB) is how you fill up the battery (this cable is pretty short). • There are only 4 buttons you are able to use making these headphones simple and a breeze to use. The 4 buttons are: Play, Volume up, Volume down and The Even button (white). One touch of the function buttons, will allow you to do what you the basic commands. If you hold down the function buttons you can go different things. Hold a command button to change tracks and press play to pause. The play button also allows you to answer, reject or hang up a phone call. • If you would like you can connect your headphones to a 3.5mm jack from the music source to the headphones. The cord is a little short and doesn’t really allow for movement but can be used when the battery is used up. For a Bluetooth connection, turn off your headphones and then hold down The Even button when you hear Sarah say “I’m looking for something to pair to.” Next turn on your Bluetooth to you want to pair with and link to “Even H4.” If a password is required enter 0000. Bluetooth will be in action when Sarah says “Yes, connected.” The way to make sure you are connected is to observe the LED flashing green. • Make sure you press The Even button to turn on the headphones. Sarah is your guide to starting and completing your tailored Earprint. Once you hold down The Even button the power will come on. Tap two times to have Sarah introduce herself and help you get on your way. There are 8 musical settings for each ear. Tap the The Even button when you first any sort of sound or music. This will happen 16 times (8-right, 8-left) that Sarah will encourage you to do. If you want to try again to put your Earprint together, no problem. Just start again with The Even button. The whole setup for the Earprint is about 90 seconds so its not hard to retry or redo. • Download and open up The Even Earprint app. The app can help you with Sarah’s direction to make multiple Earprints. Just select the one you want to hear. The app is very cool showing the 16 points of Hz (8-right,8-left) in a circle with the Even symbol. An LED light will flash or change colors depending on what you want to do with the Even H4 headphones. A green light means the headphones are on and working with the Earprint. A green light flashing means the headphones are on without the Earprint in service. Pairing mode is red and blue lights, while a blue light is your setup Earprint mode. The Even H4 (glasses for your ears) Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones are truly unique, comfortable and tech forward for a pair of headphones. They fit nicely over the ear and are lightweight. Once you try the controls, they will seem easy to use. The musical balance that is achieved in the Earprint mode is simply amazing. There is also the Even H4 app to help you do more with the headphones. I like and have had many head/ear phones over the years, but the Even H4 takes the cake!

plastic on headset broke 13 months after purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones had good sound but a piece of plastic broke that holds the ear piece onto the head band and the earpiece can no longer sit over my ear effectively. I bought them in Nov of 2020 and they broke at the end of December 2021.

My best looking–if not best sounding–headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am super picky about my audio equipment. I have written other reviews before about headphones and earphones I have that probably singed the eyebrows off of the manufacturers reading them given that I did not pull any punches about my dissatisfactions. With that preamble through, I can honestly give these headphones a 100% recommendation for purchase. Feel free to stop reading here and buy them if you just needed a quick summary, but if you want more, here it goes. First of all, I am wearing these headphones right now as I am writing this review. I just have not wanted to take them off. It has become routine for me to grab these suckers and put them on right away when I am ready for a good audio experience. What I have on hand for good comparison is the headsets I wear for gaming. I am currently running a Logitech G Pro wired headset and previously was running Razer Kraken Tournament headset. While I do wish for a bit more of the bass that the Logitech G Pro headset has as well as the comfort of its headband, these Even H4 headphones are much lighter weight and seem not to need the additional bulk of the padding as a result. The mids and the highs are just stellar on this headset, as well as the sound separation between the speakers in each cup. I am startled with the clarity that I can pick out the left versus right balance with these headphones. On that note, an additional cool feature these headphones have is a feature called Earprint, which prompts you to listen to a series of 8 different music clips at gradually increasing volumes and directions in order to get an idea of what balance your ears would best benefit from. I want to play with this feature more, but when I used it, I definitely noticed that the balance was higher on the volume in the right cup–in which I am admittedly somewhat deaf from my middle school days of walking around with an earbud blasting in just my right ear. Sigh, I was so uncool. On the note of setting these up, they have built in a personal assistant called "Sarah" who verbally cues you through the ear print and bluetooth connection set up, all of which was EXTREMELY smooth and seamless. This lands Even another kudos since there is a lot of expectation for setup to be easy in these fateful days of AirPods and Dr. Dre devices that link up to Apple devices in the blink of an eye. I like Sarah and I found myself impressed that they built that extra little bit of cool into a headset at this price level. Aesthetically, these headphones are gorgeous. As you can see from my pictures, I really love wood themes on technology. Maybe it was growing up around grandparents with wood paneled station wagons, but I just think there is something so cool and eye catching to high quality, modern tech that has wood incorporated in the presentation. Somehow or another, they even managed to get somewhat of a grain feel on the "wood" material of these headphones. The only ding I am going to give them is that on the included USB-C charging and 3.5mm headphone cable, I would have liked to have seen braided cables at this price level given how chic the rest of the setup is. On that note, however, I really appreciate that these can be wired and that they boast a 20-hour battery. I have not yet reached the limit of the battery, but thus far I am impressed. I also have to compliment them that, unlike some manufacturers, Even sent these H4's partially charged out of the box and ready to go for some listening. I doubt that the first thing anyone wants to do with a new set of headphones is charge them, so Kudos to Even for thinking that detail through. The case is also a thoughtful inclusion, almost as if they know that the kind of people who would appreciate this level of audio technology would equally like to travel with it and keep it protected! Overall, I would definitely recommend these headphones to anyone who is interested in a cool, away from the normal aesthetics set of headphones with great sound and great features. I have had a great experience using them and I am certain you will be happy if you try them. Good luck with your purchase and thanks for reading!

Comfy and great quality!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these headphones; they have great life battery and personalized sound settings and you can load different audio profiles which makes it great if you are sharing them with someone. Some of the pros: + The controls are placed on a very convenient spot and allow you to take/end calls and manage volume very easily. + Crisp sound regardless of volume. + Quick charge. + Very comfortable. + The app is very easy to use and allows you to manage your headphones very easy. + I wore them in an airplane and could not hear absolutely anything going on around me at all, I love the noise cancellation! Some of the Cons: -They can’t fold in, so they are sort of bulky. -The audio cable that comes with them is not the best, sound is not as good as on Bluetooth connection, which is weird, it feels like it is loose.

Superior Audio Quality & Exceptional Comfort
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones aren’t merely a homerun, they’re a grand-slam! No need for complicated comparisons or wordy reviews - these headphones are simply better than any other headset within its price range. They are the most comfortable (even when wearing glasses) and they sound undeniably better once the custom Earprint technology has been applied. The company understands that all of our ears are different. Each person hears differently and their individual ears may have different levels or types of hearing loss on the left or right side. Typically users turn up the volume to overcome the limitations of what they hear - but because nearly all other headphones maintain a constant balance and volume between the left & right earcups, users are often over powering one of their ears (which may contribute to further hearing loss). ...EVEN creates an “Earprint” which is a process that maps out how each ear is able to hear 8 different frequencies. Listen to each of the 8 frequencies with your left ear, then listen with your right. Tap a button as soon as you are able to hear the frequency and the software adjusts the frequency level and volume played in each ear. This ensures that the music is played in away that is perfect for each individual ear. The result is a sound that is undeniably better. Pros: + Superior audio that is customized to each user and each ear (left & right) + Ridiculously comfortable - even while wearing glasses + Light weight + Affordable price + 20 hours of continuous playback + Only requires 90 minutes to charge + Charges with USB-C (cable is included) + Easy to set up Earprint customization with or without the accompanying app + The Voice Assistant “Sara” is easy to understand and provides clear instruction and status messages + Can be used for phone calls + Can be used without any batteries + Sleek and stylish + Earcups pivot/rotate so they can lie flat on a table, or hang comfortably around your neck with the earcups flat against the chest + Comes with a carrying case + Bluetooth 5.0 allows for more than 30 feet of wireless range Cons: - No active noise cancellation feature - Not the best choice for use during sports or high impact activities as they do not squeeze tight to the head - The default bass level may not impress fans of Beats Audio, or Skullcandy. (But levels can still be adjusted with an equalizer.) I enthusiastically recommend these headphones to everyone. They are the only headphones that remain comfortable after hours of use (even when I have my glasses on). And, the Earprint technology is a night & day improvement over any other headset. I sincerely glad that I stumbled across the H4.
