Customers are impressed with the SuperClocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card's performance, price, and cooling capabilities. Many users have noted that it offers better or similar performance to the GTX 980Ti at a more affordable price. The card also runs quietly and efficiently, making it a great choice for gaming enthusiasts. While some users have mentioned that the card is quite large, most agree that it is well worth the trade-off for its impressive performance.

When I heard that the 10 series cards had arrived I had to get my hands on one since I wanted to replace my GTX 970 in order to keep up with games at 1080p and 1440p for max settings with at least 60 FPS. I had originally bought the Founders Card and while it is a great card, I couldn't squeeze as much performance out of it as I would like due to high heat output by the blower style cooler and having to increase power to the fan which took away from my overclocking headroom. Since I bought this EVGA model I have been fairly satisfied with it. The card runs a lot cooler and quieter since it has an open air design. Due to this I am able to have the fans run at a lower RPM thus reducing overall noise and power consumption. Out of the box this card has the fans set to not spin until about 60 C, which is more than safe for this card. However I was able to apply a custom fan curve using MSI Afterburner to increase fan speeds, core clock, mem clock, temp limits, and voltage targets. On the Founder's Card I was able to run the core at 1988 MHz and memory at 4500 MHz (9000 effective) at 75-85 C with a very aggressive fan curve. On this EVGA SC model the card runs at 2050-2088 MHz on the core and 4700 MHz (9400 MHz effective) at roughly 66 C. All of that means I was able to push this card farther at lower temps thanks to the design of the cooler just being changed. The only downfall of this card is that it uses the same PCB of the Founders Edition card so there are no extra VRM and Mosfets to help increase power the memory and GPU die so I am at the limit of this card electrically. If you want to push this card harder I would recommend the ASUS Strix, MSI Gaming X, EVGA FTW models, and Zotac Amp cards. In games I am able to max out all settings at 1080p and 1440p with 60 FPS or higher. Battlefield 4: 144 FPS avg 1080p ultra preset Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: 83 FPS avg 1080p ultra preset Hairworks On Overwatch: 165 FPS avg 1080p Fancy preset Crysis 3: 54 FPS avg 1080p ultra preset 8x msaa Overall this is a good card for high refresh rate gaming for things like CS:GO, it's actually overkill for that, or higher resolution gaming. This card is beautiful. Has a nice backplate, white LED lights that can turned off or on and no coil whine. I paired it with a 1080p 144hz monitor and currently get 90-144+fps on all new AAA titles at 1080p with ultra settings. I am also able to connect it via HDMI to my Samsung 65 inch 4K tv where I can get 30 fps playing games in 4K with most settings on low-medium with AA turned off. This card can achieve 4K at 30 fps, 1440p at 60 fps or 1080p at 120+ fps. It's quiet, stays under 70c at full load and plays everything you throw at it. If you want 120+ frames at 1080p or 60 frames at 1440p with almost all settings on ultra than pick this version up.

Although I am just a casual gamer a couple new titles I was interested in came out this past year and my old 7790 just couldn't get the job done anymore, even at low settings. This 1070 provides outstanding performance with smooth game play at the highest settings for my games. I had no issues with the installation and the card runs quiet with no coil whine and the fans can only be heard when running stress tests for an extended period, silent during gaming. I am very happy with the results of this upgrade.
