While working at a Peaches Records & Tapes store in Ft. Lauderdale, FL when this debuted, I was floored when I heard this in-store. I was already a huge fan of The Eagles, Poco and Stephen Stills-Manassas music and here was this same vein but with a new voice. It was fantastic and still is today. I was already familiar with their root bands (Spirit, The Byrds, etc.) but this was so fresh and polished. Sure, it had some popular hit songs, (You are the Woman, Livin' Ain't Livin' and Cinderella) but the entire album is great. "Mexico" is fantastic and their cover of Chris Hillman's "It Doesn't Matter", previously done by Stills' Manssas band is even better than the original. This is certainly one of the best "debut" albums by a new artist that I enjoyed during my 15-year music business career. Great lyrics, tight musicianship, and an upbeat sound make it a MUST for anyone serious about 70's musical heritage! P.S.-I saw the band in 2006 and with only Jock Bartley as an original member and they were absolutely phenomenal and so true to the original sound! Check them out.
