Fitbit Zip Wireless Activity - Great Product!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would recommend this to anyone that absolutely cannot find the time to exercise, this counts steps walked, calories burned and much more. Being able to see this makes me move around alot more!! I've lost 5lbs without even trying.

My Little Fitbit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the two things I make sure I wear everyday. I always try to get 10,000 steps a day. It's great paired with my iPhone. If only it also tracks sleep, that would be the best. But overall it was a great buy!

Perfect for my Technophobe Husband!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband comes home from work every night complaining that he's the only one that gets out of his chair and does anything: "I must have walk 2 miles today!". So, I made a mental note: Perfect for Father's Day! Before that, I heard quotes like: I am NOT wearing any of that stuff on my wrist! And, I don't need any of that technology! This thing is tiny - a little bigger than a quarter! The pictures online don't do it justice. I was shocked when I picked it up (I did in store pickup - Love that!). When he saw the belt clip, his eyes lit up - but still skeptical! On the first day, he just shoved it in his pocket and left for work. When he came home, he checked it - he had walked over 6 miles and burned over a day's worth of calories. Now he checks it every day (to validate how hard his day was) and now competes online with my college grad sports coach daughter who is losing miserably. I could never have imagined that this would even be possible! Great tool for anyone!

Good solid activity tracker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every review, everything I've read about the Zip is accurate. It works well and gives you a basic level of activity for the day. Since I have a bum leg from a car accident, my stride is a bit shorter than what Fitbit thinks it should be. So, as soon as I purchased the Zip I set it to the actual length of my average stride. I've read numerous reviews where the people say they've lost their device. I guess if you aren't using the neoprene case (which has a belt clip on it), I can see you may lose it. But the clip on that case is very tight, in fact I have a bit of a time getting it clipped to my pocket. As a precaution I clip it on my pocket with the Zip on the inside, but I can't imagine this thing coming off a belt, waistband, etc. The only reason I've rated this at 4 stars instead of 5 is the difficulty syncing the Zip. If I navigate my laptop to the Fitbit dashboard, the Zip syncs very quickly, without having to 'wake' the device. The app for iPhone/iPad seems to sync fairly fast, however it prompts you to tap the Zip to wake it up, and once you do that it syncs within a few seconds. The first app I installed was for the Android, and that app doesn't prompt you to 'wake' the Zip. In fact, you wouldn't expect you would have to 'wake' the unit since it's bluetooth connection is always on and the manual tells you it automatically syncs whenever it's within close range to a device you have setup to sync with the Zip. And even after tapping the Zip to wake it, the Android app takes a long time to sync, many times reporting it can't find your device. OK, so I realize I've reduced my rating of this device because of a third party app, but it seems that bluetooth syncing has been an issue with many users. So if you're syncing only with an Android device, expect it to be slow compared to what we've come to expect from devices. If you're using an Apple device or syncing via the online dashboard you will likely experience very satisfactory response.

Works Great!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, my friends have talked me into keeping a fitbit on me to track my daily walking/activity. Well, first thing you will notice is that this thing will hurt your feelings. Everyone says a normal active person should be taking 10,000 steps a day - well after a day with just 2000 steps - you realized it is either going to become your new best friend or a specter that will haunt your days. I decided to befriend the little demon and now I am getting over 10000 steps a day on average. Side effects include weight loss, better sleep and more energy. Also, when you convince your other friends to get one and start using the fitbit app on your smartphone - it becomes a tool for taunting and bragging to all the other people you know who think 2000 steps a day is a lot! The device itself is extremely simple and easy to use. The Android app can be at times. You use your smartphone bluetooth connection to sync/track your steps - creating a daily activity log. With this app you also can make friends (social media aspect and bragging tools!) along with setting challenges and completing goals. It is all about fortune and glory - so get one and get walking! PS: I washed mine by accident once - still works fine - so it is really sturdy!

Great device, but USE A TETHER!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the device, but I should have figured out a way to tether it. Especially after I realized that it came loose from my belt on a somewhat regular basis. Yesterday, I discovered that it was gone. Must have dropped off when I was getting out of my car. Anyway. The software is easy, and the device itself is ingenious. It tracks number of steps taken, as well as distance and calories burned. You get a little face that shows how you're doing. It sticks its tongue out if you've been inactive, a simple smile if you're doing pretty well, and big grin if you're doing great. You can wear it clipped to your pocket, or your pants (front or back work) or at the front of your bra (for the ladies). It comes with a dongle for syncing with your computer and once the software is installed, your laptop will prompt you to sync up the fitbit. The dashboard shows a graph of how active you were during each day. You can upgrade the basic service for more involved tracking and fitness management. I'm on my way to pick up a replacement. <sigh> Maybe I should have gotten the two pack.

Fantastic, easy-to-use activity tracker!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Fitbit Zip as a birthday gift for my mom, who just so happens to have recently gotten back into the habit of going for a daily walk. She had tried some cheaper activity trackers prior to this one and even bought a Garmin (which she sent back). However, nothing she tried had the right combination of ease-of-use and features that she was looking for. Until now. The Zip is an all-day tracker that logs your steps, distance, calories burned, and total active minutes. It features wireless syncing, an easy-to-understand touch screen that displays data when you tap it, long battery life, and it clips to your belt or pocket easily. Or, if you're like my mom, you can toss into your pocket and just forget about it. So, does she like it? You bet. She loves how easy it is to use, how light it is, and the fact that she doesn't have to worry about resetting it every day. The Fitbit Zip might be the cheapest tracker of the bunch, and it might not have all the bells and whistles of its higher end siblings, but it's more than adequate for your average user. Highly recommended.

Q: QuestionCan this be carried in the pocket instead of worn on the belt or pans?I don't think you need more details than the question above.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I clip mine on my pocket, but keep it on the inside most of the time. Works just fine. Tried it once in my pocket (unclipped) and I'd say it was only 47-64% accurate.

Q: QuestionDoes it work when I use a treadmill - I have heard that it does not?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, it does for running, just as accurately as normal running. For walking sometimes it may miss a few steps, but it is surprisingly accurate.

Q: Questioncan it track distances and calories burned while riding a bike?
Asked by Mary.
- A:Answer No it cannot track distances you burned cycling. It counts each pedal rotation as a step and calculates the distance and calories burned as if it were a step.

Q: QuestionIs it waterproof?
Asked by Sue.
This question was asked about the related product: Fitbit - Zip Wireless Activity Tracker - Lime
- A:Answer This Fitbit tracker is not waterproof. I opted for the bright lime green color so I wouldn't accidentally leave it on my clothes and toss it in the wash.
