Peter Brotzmann is the most frantic Sax player alive today. I've seen him play live and have no idea how he keeps his head from exploding. His cheeks expand, his face turns crimson, he sweats. I kept expecting him to drop from an aneurysm. The sounds he gets from his sax are unearthly and scary but beautiful. his live energy transfers well onto his records. I would recommend any of his, this is a good starting point. Dedicated to the man who invented the saxophone, but I doubt Adolphe ever heard it played like this.
I would recommend this to a friend
