As good as could be expected
||Posted .i really wanted this watch but Best Buy really ruined the experience of getting it for me. The watch is really great and looks amazing but I'm finding the 2 things I'm not big on are A. No Android Pay option on this watch B. Android Wear is rather lacking in the amount of apps it has. The battery life is decent, but not amazing. Could definitely be improved there. The screen is another fail point in that it is so easy to scratch. I scratched mine the first day. All in all, if I was to review my choices, I would've ended up going with the Samsung Gear 3 instead.

Overall Great Smartwatch, but Not Perfect
Posted .So for me this is my second smart watch. I already owned a 42mm Asus Zenwatch 2 prior to this one. While the Zenwatch serves as a great starter watch (if you're looking for an android watch on the cheaper end), it can also still leave a little more to be desired (if you're serious about the little details). I purchased this smartwatch as a means to "upgrade" and take advantage of the amazing Black Friday deal. Let me just say that right off the bat, the craftsmanship is probably the biggest and best thing this watch has going for it that can separate it from other smartwatch makers out there (depending on which ones you're comparing it to). This particular model has a really good weight to it that feels good wrapped around your wrist, without suffocating it or creating that irritating itch after long hours of wear. The links in the chain and everything else feels really tight and cohesive altogether. I also have to say that, after having to remove a few links, this watch fits me better/tighter than any watch I've worn before--non smart watches included. It all speaks volumes to the product quality that you get when you purchase a watch from a company like Fossil or Nixon, which are watch makers primarily with added tech features as a bonus, as compared to buying from a company like Asus or Samsung, which are tech companies primarily...who decided to try their hand at watch making. That being said, as far as the tech side of things go though, the watch can still pretty much go toe to toe with any other "high end" smart watch out there on the market. There is a very noticably distinct resolution and performance difference between this watch and my Zenwatch 2. Much less pixelated and much smoother when navigating or switching pages, just the same as any other high end smartwatch. It's also worth mentioning that it has a pretty good IP waterproof rating as well. Now, this brings me to some of the cons the watch has, which though not many, are still definitely present. For those who may find it important, there is a noticable exclusion of a heart rate monitor as well as the "flat tire" screen feature you may have heard others mention. In addition, some of my personal quirks include the side button, physical charger, and the God awful charge time. You'll use the one and only side button to access your Google assistant, go to the apps screen, and power off the device. It works decently, but I do wish it was more sensitive. There have been way too many times when I've had to press it multiple times just to get it to acknowldge my press. Any slight decrease of pressure in your finger press could mean getting ignored. Though minor and admittedly nit picky, the next complaint is the wireless Qi enabled charger. It is a flat circular surface that is magnetized to gravitate towards the watch's undersurface when near. Once attached, it'll start charging automatically. Honestly, it's a nice touch, however, it's also really awkward since there's no stand or decent place to put it. What you end up with is this dangley cord, that awkwardly attaches to your watch to charge (you'll see what I mean if you get it). Considering the normal price of this watch, after having paid nearly $300, I'd like to think that the quality aspect would've been seen through, to include the charger and not just the watch itself. Lastly, the worst part about this watch....the darn charge times. I admit, the Asus may have spoiled me a bit with it's lightening fast charge times (about 45 mins, 0-100%), but at the same time, to say this watch charges slowly...would be a grave understatement. I've seen tree sap move quicker than this watch charges. Once charged, it'll last for about a good two full days (on average use & brightness). When needed though, it typically takes about a full 6 hrs or so to charge from 0-100%, so no last minute charging before you head out the door with this watch--plan accordingly. Maybe I'd be willing to just chalk this up to mine just having a faulty battery...if this wasn't my SECOND copy of this same watch. It's also worth noting that the watch actually gets pretty hot while charging. So much to a point where I had to turn off the "always on screen" feature in fear of the watch burning another permanent time stamp image into the screen (yes, this actually happened the first time). I woke up in the morning to find a slight, but permanent, "2:08" image burned into the background of my screen...so you have been warned. Overall, final verdict is that it's still a great smart watch all around with plenty of features to enjoy, especially if you have no smart watch at all, but just don't expect perfection. At its current price ($165 on 12/03/2017), it's a good deal. At it's regular price?...I may shop around a bit, while still keeping this watch in mind. Cheers!

Nice Smart Watch, esp. for the Price
||Posted .I was needing to switch from my 1st gen Moto 360 and missed out on the 2nd gen 360. The first thing I look for in a smart watch is the look. It has to have that nice watch look (something apples watch is missing, it isn't really a great looking watch). I wanted something sharp and "business" looking. I've gotten several compliments on how nice the watch looks. I went with the stainless steel, so it really does look nice. The glass got a little scratch rather easily, so that does bother me. I have a screen protector on it now, but the scratch is still there obviously. I don't even recall really hitting it on anything to get it. The metal itself of the band and watch are holding up great with just the marks for wear. Fossil can make solid watches, so that's showing on this. The screen brightness is just ok, it does look duller than the Moto360 that I had. The tilt to wake does seem to be delayed some or doesn't work great, but all other wrist gestures seem to be fine. Overall, a solid smart watch, especially when you factor in the savings over the Gear S3 or another top of the line watch. As for me, it was a no brainier as the Samsung or LG watches don't look like great time pieces. I really liked my Moto 360 and would have loved to seen a 3rd gen offering, but wasn't going with the 2nd gen due to the time it was out and not being able to find a decent priced stainless steel version.

Sleek and Stylish look, good featues for iPhone
||Posted .Purchased this watch knowing I was going to have limitations on what I can or can not do with it due to having an iPhone. First of all the design and build quality is just outstanding for a smart watch. Gotten ALOT of compliments about the looks of the watch. Second the touch response and screen brightness is pretty good. Like stated in the first line, features were limited because I'm using this watch with an iPhone. It provides me updates from my calendar and even gives me traffic information and weather all in one spot. Has lots of options when changing the watch face. Not too many apps to use in the Google store. but that may be different with an android phone user. With texting I am unable to reply by the onscreen keyboard but can review all messages and even give a preset reply if needed. I am able to decline incoming phone calls or accept a call on the phone itself. Obviously to unlock the full potential of the watch, you would need to pair with an android phone. But if you're fine with viewing information and text at a glance and want a watch that looks sleek and stylish, then I'd recommend this one.

Great little watch!
||Posted .My husband made the comment to me that he would like to try a smart watch but did not want a samsung or apple watch. Fossil is about the only brand that makes one that looks like an actual watch. This watch is missing some features that others may want but for my husband, it does everything he wants it to. Very attractive piece!!

Nice watch, best suited for Android
||Posted .Received as a gift for Christmas. The watch itself looks great. I’ve never been a fan of square faced watches or those with leather bands. I wanted a more professional looking watch and this fits the requirement. As far as functionality, I was a bit disappointed, but it isn’t the fault of the waych. I have an iPhone and apples restrictions limit the function of the watch somewhat. My biggest complaint is that it did not display my company mail messages. The only accounts visible were gmail accounts out of the box. I installed the MS Outlook app and set it up for work email and was able to work around this limitation. Bottom line: It’s a great looking watch, suited for pairing with an Android phone. I personally don’t know that I would respond to messages on my watch, so ultimately it’s not a show stopper for me.

Elegant and Functional
||Posted .The Fossil Q is a very elegant watch. The appearance of the band as well as the watch face are top notch. The functionality of the watch is wide ranged, and easy to use. The texting capabilities are fantastic, except for the voice-to-text. The microphone struggles to pick up voice in noisy areas. The screen easily scratches, so make sure you get a screen protector.
