Perfect Size & Design
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This upright freezer is exactly what we have been looking for and so much more! The most important feature I was looking for was big wire shelves. I got that plus pockets on the door just like in the refrigerator. Now, instead of having to keep all the small things in boxes, you can open the boxes and put the contents on the door and easily see everything you have in the freezer every time you open the door. You can stack full size frozen pizza's, whole turkeys, whole chickens, whole hams, wholesale store size boxes of prepared foods like lasagna and chicken piccata and still have room for giant bags of frozen veggies, bacon and those fish you're going to catch next weekend. We keep a list and cross off items as we use them but unlike most freezers where everything is stacked on top of each other and you have to dig to find what's on the bottom - and you end up throwing away half of the stuff because it never gets used - this one is so easy to organize that a list is barely necessary. Best investment if you buy in bulk. I would never go back to a chest freezer again!

Nice Size Freezer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went from a 7cu ft chest freezer to this 16.6cu ft upright freezer and love it. The size is perfect and it is so nice to be able to see everything in the freezer now. So far the freezer is working without any problems. I’m glad that I didn’t go any larger as it wouldn’t have fit in my garage next to my extra refrigerator.

Frost-free freezer
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is replacing a 20 year old freezer that still ran great but I wanted frost-free one, and a freezer that will hopefully use less energy. It's too early to tell if it is using less electricity- I've only had this 6 weeks. Pros - the light makes it easy to find items in a full freezer - it seals VERY tightly - one more shelf than my old freezer - frost-free - no more defrosting twice a year Cons - runs almost all the time - not sure how that will translate into energy use - the motor is loud - the freezer is in the basement and I can hear it running upstairs. I'm getting used to it but it can be annoying - seals so tightly that the freezer moves if I don't hold it in place when I try to open the door, which means I need both hands free. I read another review that said they squeeze the sealing strip so it breaks the seal and can be opened with one hand. I've been doing that, but not sure how the seal will be affected years later. Bottom line after 6 weeks - it does what it's supposed to do - freeze food. Hard to open, but that means it seals well. Giving it 4 stars because it's noisy, but I'm getting used to it. If I remember, I'll update my review after I've had this for a year or more when reviews would be a bit more useful.

Exactly what I wanted
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking to replace an old upright freezer that was not frost free. After much research - this is the freezer I chose, and I love it! The light is bright, there is plenty of room for our needs, and I love the fact that it will stay frozen for two days without power should our lights go out during storms or what-not. The only negative that I see is that the shelf guards on the door shelves are a weaker plastic and if you put pressure on them they appear to "give". Keeping small items in the door is fine, but I'm leary to put anything that would put too much pressure against them. Overall I would purchase again.

Overall a great purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a new frigidaire to replace one i had for 9 years. I needed a certain size, frost free with shelves and light. Caught this one at the Black Friday sale bargain price. It was delivered promptly set up and my old one hauled away. It's currently filled with holiday food and goodies. This model doesn't have a basket drawer but I'm making due. I do recommend this item

Exactly as expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Freezer performs exactly as expected after reading other reviews. It's a bit louder than a refrigerator but it's also a good bit cheaper. I would easily pay $50 more if the door hinge was reversible but I knew it wasn't before purchasing. Only improvement I would recommend would be a door release as it is difficult to break the vacuum seal it creates when it shuts.

Q: QuestionDoes the freezer pull a vacuum when the door is closed? I know that some freezers have only a magnetic door seal and that some better freezers have a vacuum seal and the door cannot be opened when the vac is being pulled. Thank you.
Asked by CreativeMuse.
- A:Answer We purchased this freezer and when you first shut the door it's almost impossible to re-open it immediately, which would make me think that yes, it's creating quite a vacuum!

Q: QuestionHow long does this freezer take to get up to temperature after it is installed? Can I switch frozen food from my old freezer to this one right after it’s installed?
Asked by Rady.
- A:Answer Thank you for connecting with us, Rady! It is recommend to allow the freezer 36 hours to stabilize in temperature after it has been plugged in. We suggest not storing food inside of it until it has stabilized. Hopefully this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-

Q: QuestionWhat is the best temperature of operation? The Freezer has a 4 manufacture preset, but I am not sure if I should leave it at 4, or try higher. I am planning to storage deer meet, but not want to keep it unnecessarily higher, and pay more in electricity.
Asked by WorkingHusband.
- A:Answer I have had my new Freezer for a little over a month, Left at recommended setting of 4, moved my frozen food from my 14 year old 16 cu ft Frigidaire chest. I added about 10 lbs of freeze meat last week and it is slap full and it froze the fresh meat really fast. My ice cream that is stored in the door is perfect for scooping! I love my choice of sticking with Frigidaire!

Q: QuestionFreezer delivered today. The noise from the motor is fine but every time the freezer is opened and then closed again, it makes the LOUDEST whistling noise that can be heard throughout the whole house! Is ours defective or a bad model#? Reviews were great.
Asked by mbt4.
- A:Answer Hello mbt4! Since the freezer FFFH17F2QW only has one door, after closing the door, it creates a vacuum and draws in air through a small opening on the cabinet this is called the breather valve. The noise is not uncommon. We hope this information is helpful to you. –Thanks!-
