    Aweful fridge

This fridge is a awful, and Frigidaire customer service/ warranty is equally as bad. For starters, this thing is LOUD! It sounds like a loud motor running every time it kicks on. My old fridge i replaced was much, much quieter, and aside from now having an ice maker I regret getting rid of it. Which brings me to the ice maker.... Secondly, the ice maker is garbage. Had two of the collection/dispenser trays break apart already, and had to buy them myself as customer service wouldn't replace even in the first year. The ice maker also thumps loudly for about 10 minutes it tries to eject ice into the collection bin. I did get a warranty claim on the ice maker itself for this loud knocking noise it makes, and the repairman who came said its supposed to sound like that when it is trying to eject the ice from the maker. I doubt that. This stupid thing is so loud it wakes me up at least once a night due to its near proximity to my bedroom door. In summary, I have had two ice dispenser trays break apart and did not get free replacements, and the fridge is horribly loud. Worst product I have bought in long time. I hate this fridge and the monumental waste of money that it was.

DanD, I know how frustrating it can be to adjust to a new appliance. Our appliances come with an industry standard, one year limited warranty for functional repair actions from date of purchase. Today's modern high efficiency refrigerators use high speed compressors that make a humming / pulsating noise. These refrigerators will run most of the time and only stop when a defrost cycle is needed to thaw ice buildup in the freezer. Some hard surfaces like floors, walls, kitchen cabinets, and open concept living spaces, may make sounds more noticeable. The normal sounds your refrigerator will exhibit are listed on page 24 in your Owner’s Manual. If what you are hearing is not addressed, or you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reconnect with us directly for assistance. We are here for you. *Ruth Frigidaire

We had an LG French doors fridge. Compressor went on it. We've always had a side by side fridge in the past. Decided to go back to it. We have not had any regrets so far. This fridge is big & stores everything we needed it to do. We're able to place a large pizza box in it. Holds our thanksgiving turkeys (2) with no problems! Costs less than half the price we paid for the LG frenchdoors fridge, which lasted us exactly 5 yrs & 7 months, just beyond our 5 yrs warranty period! For the price of the other fridge, we could buy 3 of these! We're very happy with this purchase & even after adding another 5 yrs protection plan to this purchase, it's still half the price of our previous fridge! And, did we mention how we love this purchase?!?!? And @ a much better price ?!?!? And, this included delivery, set up & removal of our old fridge! We're extremely happy with our purchase @ Best Buy! They offered the best price! & the sales rep's in their home appliance section were very knowledgeable & very eager to help ! (Tyrone store in St Petersburg, Fl)

    Clicking and Dryer Buzzer Noise

    Posted

I purchased this fridge open box at Best Buy because I needed a fridge immediately for my new home. My intentions were to keep it in the basement after my kitchen renovations were done, however, I've had this fridge now for 5 months and it's still sitting in my kitchen. No complaints on food cooling. Ice/Water maker isn't connected, so I cannot comment. Upon setting up, I immediately noticed a clicking noise about every 30 mins to one hour. Annoying, but livable and for some reason it wasn't concerning. Fast forward to appx. 4 months into owning this fridge, it now wakes me up in the middle of the night with this loud buzzing noise! The best description I can give is that it sounds like my dryer buzzer when my clothes are done! I guess it wouldn't be alarming if you're doing laundry, however, this happens randomly a few times a day (that I'm aware of) and its LOUD! It wakes me up in the middle of the night! Wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing. I'll be calling Best Buy and Frigidaire to figure it out. No wonder it was returned!!!

Hi Ancobb11! Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on your purchase. We understand that some sounds coming from your refrigerator may sound strange. Your refrigerator can make a buzzing sound as the water valve opens to fill the ice maker during each cycle; which is normal. You are able to view any normal operating sounds in the Use and Care Guide on page 24. Should you experience any unusual sounds that are not normal per the sounds in your manual, please feel free to contact us directly at 1-888-203-1389 Monday-Friday 8am-8pm EST and Saturday 9am-6pm EST at your convenience. -CiCi Frigidaire

    Horrible experience .. continued

I bought another model in 2013. After just a year when the warranty expired, it broke down. But Even before the warranty expired, it was making strange noises... like a fan was Hitting ice. I got the extended warranty and since then I've had repairmen come to check its issues about three times already in 5 years. Very disappointed with the brand. I've had cheaper brands in apartments I've rented which lasted longer and they weren't new! There was always ice issues...it wouldn't defrost properly so ice would accumulate in the walls and keep air from circulating. After writing a review, Courtney responded and asked me to call their warranty center but when I called, they were just unapologetic and unsympathetic. They even cancelled my warranty after I spoke to them Because they said there were already preexisting conditions. But the problem is that this has been happening even when it was new. Apparently they don't replace the product until after years of repeated problems and paying their warranty. It's an inferior quality to begin with

    Frustration

I bought my first Frigidaire Refrigerator in April of 2016 and have major problems with it the minute the 1 yr warranty expired. My Whirlpool refrigerator i had for 17 yrs with no problems and only bought the Frigidaire because it was stainless steel and went with my new remodel kitchen. The frid came to a complete halt and stop operating and i called customer service and they had no answers other than spend $200 to have someone look at it. It started making whining noises about 2 months ago and customer service had no answer. How does a new Fridg have problems so soon. I read the consumer affairs board and i was floored with all the complaints about Frigidaire from other customers. Stay away from this line of appliances.

Very Good Fridge Minor Issues Cost 1 Star

Pros Easy setup, got cold fast after delivery, good lighting inside, excellent ice maker and water dispenser Performance is just fine so far Cons They wrapped it in sticky plastic wrap and we cant get it all off. Its stupid the way it was wrapped we have spent a long time trying to get the bits off. Too much blue tape inside like the plastic wrap outside the plastic drawers do not have rollers to slide easy and they stick a bit. I used some veg oil on a paper towel on the edges of the drawers to reduce friction and now they slide fine....the bottom toe kick piece is plastic junk the way it fits Minor annoyances but worthwhile to note The Cons cost 1 star

It makes quite a bit of noise with random squeaks and buzzing. The fridge section is well designed, very roomy and can hold a lot of food. The freezer section is small with wider-spaced wire shelves. The ice maker overfills itself so that cubes sometimes fall out of the access door, and if you open the access door for any reason, cubes cascade out all over your floor. In evenings, if your kitchen is dark or in low light, you have to turn on a light to use the water/ice dispenser because the light for that is manual only, and it is hard to see when your glass is full.

Thank you for taking the time to share your refrigerator experience, Andy. It appears that the sounds you're hearing is part of the water valve opening to fill the icemaker, which is normal. I recommend checking your Owner's Manual for other normal operating sounds that your refrigerator makes. If the icemaker overfills, I recommend making sure that ice is not frozen on the wire signal arm to prevent it from lowering/raising. The light is designed to turn on automatically when ice and/or water is
dispensed. I hope this helps! Kindly, Courtney Frigidaire

Got a great deal on excellent condition out of the box refrigerator. I read the other reviews and found that many people complain about noise. The ice makers does make a loud noise when the bin is empty and ice falls in. That is the only time I have noticed noise. If the drawers that were missing from the fridge would come in it would be a really nice refrigerator. It has been a month since the appliance manager ordered them - haven't seen them yet. So I wouldn't recommend trusting the manager to order drawers that should have been in the refrigerator in the first place. But that is Best Buy's fault not Frigidaire.
