wifi based
||Posted .I had to buy 2 units, as the first one had a faulty wifi adapter and would not connect. Frigidaire helped me determine the problem very quickly and approved me for an exchange. The top buttons of the unit are very easy to press, they take very little pressure to engage power turning on etc, in such, that when my cat lies down on top of the A/C to look out the windows, she ends up turning the unit on. Frigidaire had never heard that complaint before, I asked them to add a cat owners feature to make a quick double tap of the power button the way to turn it on if enabled.. they are looking into that for me. In the meantime I have put a paper towel folded across the top to prevent my cat from operating the unit on her own. The app is great, the scheduling function could use a little work. You can't edit the schedule directly, you have to clear the whole thing and setup a new schedule instead of editing a day or so. We live in a small Manhattan apartment and I wanted a way for my wife to cool down the bedroom before she arrives home to go to sleep, so this unit is perfect for that. I would have preferred something smaller like 3000-5000 BTU but this is the only wifi enabled one on the market. It's quiet and does it's job well, I went for the purchase of the frigidaire stand as well, so I can completely control the angle in which the A/C sits out the window. Lots of people complained about leaking A/Cs on this model, but one of the first things in the instruction booklet is about how you need to make sure it has a downward slant going outside so condensation doesn't collect and drip inside your room. Airflow is UPWARD this is apparently more 'green' from what I read. My 2nd unit is perfect, I would recommend this for anyone that wants to have the benefits of central air scheduling control but lives in an apartment.

Frigid "Aire"
Posted .Decided to buy a new air conditioner a couple of weeks back. I was going to transfer the one from my room to my daughters room. since she is only here on ever other weekend. It is an old Haier ac. It worked fine, I wanted to find a new one with wifi capabilities so my room would be nice and cold when I would go to bed. I did research online and decided on the Frigidaire Model. Im glad I did! It puts out cold air, cools my room down, and I think its quiet. Plus the WIFI really puts it over the top. I had some issues with the WIFI app but I think the kinks have worked themselves out. I would've gave it a 5 star.

Smart design with beautiful asthetics
||Posted .The design is beautiful. It accentuates the room rather than stand out as an eye sore. I love that you can control it via wifi.... Your home can be cool after a long day out. If you like the latest technology, this is for you.

All looks no function, it's doesn't work
Posted .My old AC unit of 5,000 btu (not frigidaire brand/ I have had it for 7+ years) was no longer cooling to my comfort. So, I decided to go to the Bronx Terminal Best Buy and get a new one. I'm into interior design and this unit is the most beautiful one I could find. Sure it's a little pricey (almost twice as expensive as getting another 5,000 btu model), but it's modern, pretty, with app features, and at 8,000 btu it was surely going to be the best AC I have ever had, right? WRONG!!! When I brought it home at 10 pm, I noticed it had bent coils but I wasn't going to go through the trouble of returning it for that. So we mounted it and in the moment of truth it REFUSED TO TURN ON!!! I had to sleep with no AC in a 90F room!!! I returned to the store first thing in the morning and asked to exchange it for a new one. To be cautious I also asked that they please test it out before I take it. They plugged it in and turned it on for a second saying they didn't have the power to actually test it. I noticed that, like the last one, this one had bent coils (they must not be very careful with their products). I asked if they would give me a discount for first selling me a nonfunctional unit and now selling me a second one with bent coils. The manager, Eleina (I think) said no. She said my only option is to keep exchanging them until I found one with no bent coils. I thought "fine, I'm sure phone customer service will see my point (they didn't) and what's important is that I get something that at least works even if it's not in perfect condition (which I used to expect from a brand new product but it's hot and standards have been lowered)". A functioning AC is all I wanted, I didn't even get that. I noticed at home that the coils were much worst than I had noticed in the store. Even worst than the first one I got which are shown in the pictures I upload with my review. AND THE AC DOESNT COOL!!!! IT HAS BEEN 3 HOURS AND MY ROOM IS STILL AT 72 DEGREES!!! WHAT DID I PAY SO MUCH MONEY FOR?!! It's pretty but it is not THAT pretty! This product is beauty over function. I'll most likely have to return it.

nosy, rusting after 2 moths, app unreliable
Posted .I would give 0 if possible. to summarize: Noisy, less powerful than regular units, the "smart part" of the appliance is not reliable (continually disconnecting from wifi), and after 2 months of use is rusting out. First and foremost the noise: unbelievable! I noticed that right away, but I thought to exchange that for the convenience of the smart appliance and the reliability of the brand. After some use you realized that the app is not always reliable and that the appliance drop the wifi connection and you have to reset and pair it again for the AC to work. After 2 (yes TWO) months of use the bottom is rusting. I have other AC unit for years installed on the windows with no issue. I called Frigidaire and a less than pleasant representative explained to me that their policy in these cases is to send out a technician and if it is a warranty issue they will pay, otherwise the customer is responsible for the charge, that buy the way you are not allowed to know. Another note for the customer service: they give you an appointment window and the number of the technician encouraging you to call them right away, once you call the technician has no clue of the matter. I had similar issues with LG and Kenmore that admitted the item was defective just sending them photos of the damage and replaced it. A personal not for who looks for smart appliances integration, there are accessories out there that can make you AC unit smart and App controlled that are 100 times more reliable and dependable and have Smartthings integration (that this one do not support) and this solution is actually cheaper than buying these units.

A real advancement in AC!
||Posted .I got this after doing a search on air conditioners that I could control via an app. There weren't many to choose from so thankfully this one turned out to be a great purchase. While a bit more expensive than a typical, small room AC I think its well worth it for two reasons: the aesthetics of how the AC looks (this one looks like it was designed by Apple I think) and how well it would function with the app. Despite some problems setting it up to connect to my wi-fi, an issue I think was specific to my router (as this AC hooked up fast and easy to my phones tethered internet on the first try) this ended up being a great purchase. It really cools my small room extremely well and I love the fact that you can schedule it via the app to turn on and off when you need it (or turn on remotely so when you arrive its nice and cool). I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a bit more of an advanced AC!

Amazing
||Posted .This product is a little pricey than most 8000 BTU air conditioners but worth it. The good: Eco mode is amazing. It will turn itself on and off to regulate the temperature to whatever you set it at. Much better than other units that continuously run and will cycle in hot air if it gets too cold rather than just turn off. 2 I was concerned due to the vent pointing up it would not circulate air very well but it does circulate very well! 3. The app is convenient for remote control..... 4 sleek design The bad: 1. when you turn it on it will ALWAYS turn on to Eco mode and ALWAYS at 72 degrees. Regardless of prior settings. It's factory set this way wth no possibility of changing. 2. The companion app to remotely control (turn on off schedule or Change temp) is awesome..... That is when it works. It's availability is very spotty. Even if I'm at home on the same wifi.

Good a/c
||Posted .Using it in our bedroom, it's a nice lookin AC except at night when the light comes on because you change a setting it's very bright. Noise level is fair. Cold air flows well, except that it only shoots up from the top. So our blinds bang against the window frame unless we tape them down. If you have a ceiling fan working with the ac, it works much better. The wifi control is spotty from the app. Sometimes the app times out even sitting on the same wifi network. I bought it because we have a smartthings hub and wanted to somehow connect it in. Currently not using it on home automation because it doesn't connect to the ST hub, however a work around would be how we have it setup with an aeon switch. When using a switch the ac saves the settings. So you could basically "control" turning it on/off with triggers but it's kind of pointless as you could just log into the app remotely and set exactly how you want to use it. One nice feature is the "turn off later" setting on the app. We have it run until 230-3am then it shuts off automatically.

Q: QuestionWhich is the best direction for the cooler to be pushing, upwards in your room like this one is doing or facing straight as the main ones do or is there no difference plus is this pretty quiet on low settings for a 10x10 room?
Asked by StrixZ.
- A:Answer Up because heat rises and cold air falls. Quietness is subjective. It seems quiet to me but my wife says its a bit loud. I can say this though, this is no more loud than any other AC this size.

Q: QuestionHow frequent is the beeping and how loud?
Asked by Tona.
- A:Answer It only beeps if you have horrible wifi which instead of purchasing this air conditioner you should upgrade your internet and then purchase this product. Its wonderful, I can turn it up and down off and on from anywhere.
