Fantastic Gear
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an absolutely fantastic piece of equipment. I switched from a Nikon D750 with a 50mm f/1.8, 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8. I switched to the Fujifilm X-T2 with two prime lenses, the 23mm f/2 (35mm equivalent) and the 56mm f/1.2 (85mm equivalent). I was quite nervous at first, very unsure, but after months with this setup, I've not regretted it one bit. I have plenty of reasons for this, and I will try to lay them out: For starters, I wanted a camera that's lower in cost (this, of course, is relative) but that has top-notch image quality. If I'm spending the money, I want to know I'm paying for something worthwhile. I refuse to pay $500-$1000 for something mediocre that I'm going to upgrade next year and spend another $1000 or more or not be satisfied with the images. Defeats the idea. I want something that lets me pull up the shadows a ton, maintaining details and that has great dynamic range. This limits my options to newer cameras, and middle of the line or better. The Nikon D600/D610, D750, and the Fujifilm X-T2 that I've had are all top of the line for this. Canon has a few good options, but I don't care for their sensors and physical layout. Even something as simple as grabbing the camera with my right hand and needing to use my left hand to turn it on. Never made sense to me. But these cameras that I've had are "ISO-less" and that's a huge deal for me. It's completely personal preference but it was very important to me. I need something compact, light and easy to reach the buttons. If it's too heavy, I won't take it out. If the buttons aren't easy to reach and/or the menu systems are too complicated, I won't use it. It need something that truly inspires me to shoot, not something that makes my life any harder. Something that is a tool, but also created with intention, with actual thought and is not just the next iteration of the same old gear that is only that way because "that's how things are done". I love being able to preview the image before taking it. It was weird for me at first, but an EVF, which I initially hated, is the only thing I'll shoot with now. And that's just for the body. For the lenses, small, light and SHARP are my keys. These two lenses are beyond phenomenal. Better than anything else I've shot with. I chose to stick with an APS-C sensor instead of full frame. There's literally no disadvantages anymore between my crop sensor and full frame. And I used to be all about the full frame (35mm equivalent) systems. And then with that, my lenses are smaller and cheaper and sharper. And so, for me, I was die-hard Nikon fan. But since I've gone with Fujifilm, I've learned to love the company. I like Sony and Nikon, but their tools just don't inspire me to photograph. The other thing is that the way that the Bayer filter is laid out on the sensor, it allows me to have much better color rendition, especially with skin tones. And the JPEGs straight out of camera cannot be beat. They are number one. Check the forums if you don't believe me. So if you want great images straightaway, that's the one to get. And they have a few models to choose from, whether you want a street-photographer's all-around great camera (X100F), a more classic camera (X-Pro 2) or this which is an amazing balance of both (X-T2), those are the best of the best. And then for a more beginner, with the same sensor but a slightly different layout, the X-T20 is a great option, and a bit less money. For examples of work from this camera, I lay everything out on my Instagram page: @joel_in_pnw

A Pro camera in a small body.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am no professional, but the Fuji XT-2 is enough camera for someone in my skill level to advance in the art of photography. The build quality is superb, and all of the buttons are easily accessible. Having dual card slots will come in handy when I shoot events. Weather resistance is also a welcomed edition. Combined with the 23MM F2 lens, the Fuji XT-2 becomes a very versatile camera that I can use for any situation.

Simply one of the best from Fuji
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The X-T2 is perhaps one of the top cameras from Fuji. It's about the same weight as a small DSLR, but provides great image quality. It is a bit more pricey than the Sony options but it's well worth the price. The glass (lenses) are also more pricey, but they offer better image quality in general than the competition. The dials on the top may be a bit confusing at first, especially for newbie photographers, so this is best suited for hobbyists and pros who know the basics of photography (ISO, shutter speed, aperture, etc) and/or those who are familiar with old film SLR cameras. It does have an auto mode as well for those who want to "grow" into their camera.

Exceeds all my expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the X100T and really liked the manual SS dial and aperture ring. The addition of the manual ISO dial on the X-T2 was the clincher. I was also impressed by the build quality, lens selection, and positive reviews of the IQ. Now that I've had it for a few weeks, I can say that this camera is solidly built, delivers on its hype, and just plain looks good. This is the perfect size for me. Everything about it says "precision." One concern is the battery life. I don't want to get the hand grip because that would offset its size advantage, so I need to carry spares with me. Thankfully, there are cheap substitutes such as Wasabi that aren't as robust but workable. The tilt screen may be handy, but it looks and feels like an afterthought -- ungainly with limited flexibility. Finally, the WYSIWYG viewfinder in these cameras is the best feature of all. It makes manual control a viable and extremely enjoyable option.

Love it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works with all my other Fuji X lenses. Several key improvements over the X-T1 which I also bought from Best Buy. The autofocus improved. The knobs lock now if you press the button (so ISO won't just change without you knowing it), Low light is better with ISO 256k still usable. I also like the tilt screen which tilts left to right (plus the up and down which the X-T1 had).

Everything I wanted in a Fuji X Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally got my X-T2 when Best Buy lowered the price to $1099. A price drop of $500. I own an X-T1 for over 3 years but I wanted faster Auto Focus and the new ACROS Film Simulation and the 2 SD card slots. It was worth the wait! I quickly felt right at home using the X-T2. I sent my X-T1 in to Life Pixels and had it converted to Standard Infrared. I have owned and used these cameras since my X-E1 about 6 years ago. They are just fun to use and easy to understand. I would describe my X-T2 as Comfortable!

Q: QuestionAre you purposely trying to turn FujiFilm camera owners from purchasing your products?
Asked by Ruibalman.
- A:Answer The reality is that no one has them in stock and if they do they go out like grease through a goose. One company, one of the largest had them for about two hours before they were gone. IT's worth the wait. I have a xt1 and a xt10 and I plan to sell them to buy another xt2. By the way, when I bought mine I checked back a few hours later and they were sold out again.
