A beautiful mess. Volume 7 is just kind of there. It's got great episodes, it's got OK episodes. By this point the writers and creators had their cadence back, and naturally, the studio started juggling it's future.
2-disc set, paper backing, 1080p presentation, 5.1 audio, convoluted pop-up menu that's kinda small...yada yada yada. If you don't know the specs by now, you read too many reviews and not enough details!
Volume 7 has the distinction of making episodes that really have no plausible endings. Either a Deus ex Machina occurs, or they're just left hanging. This is not un-typical for the series, the early episodes don't always end on a definite answer, but when you watch the season you'll understand what I mean. There's also a lack of A and B plots, which are much better than A only plots, IMO.
Even then, Futurama on a meh day >>> than other series on a good day. Highly recommended.
