Bought 2 of these mouse pads for home/school use. The surface has a course texture but it's not abrasive or uncomfortable. On the contrary, I find the rough texture very pleasing and it works very well. The dark color should hide stains and dust very effectively. This does feel like a very high quality mouse pad.

We have the corsair mouse pad so in comparison I would say that this pad is slightly thicker. Overall construction is very good.

I love the texture and the size, however, my Razor mouse (still new) sometimes does not response well compared to my old mouse pad.
