One of the Best Seasons Yet!
||Posted .Those who were let down by the previous season, which felt more like a setup for greater things, well, here are the greater things! Fans of the show are going to snap this up, so I'll focus on the packaging, which is the only decision that true fans will need to make. The slipcover is nice, and when you take it off, you still get the awesome lenticular Faces of the Faceless picture. Unfortunately, that's about the only difference between it and the standard version. Kind of a disappointment from Seasons 1-4, where the inner box reflected the chosen sigil as well, including the house motto. Then, only with the innermost packaging, where the discs themselves resided, did things get the same. Not that the normal packaging is bad this season; it is actually quite nice. It's just that too much of it is the same as what everyone else has.

Superb 90mm f 2.8 macro OIS lens
||Posted .I have a 36 MP Sony A 7r and a 12 MP Sony A7s bodies. I have an older Leica 90mm f 2 lens and an older Nikon 105mm f 2.8 macro lens which are great for portraits and macro shots with manual focus, but I needed AF for a video of a lecture, where the speaker moves around. I then tested it for still photos both as a portrait and macro lens on the 36mp A7r. Its image quality was comparable to my Leica and Nikon lenses and the OIS meant I could hand hold it and get relatively sharp photos at 1/30 sec whereas for images without OIS, I needed to shoot at 1/250 second, so the OIS was good for 3 shutter speeds slower. Then again, I usually us a tripod, remote cable release and manual focus for macro shots so... Its a great lens! Best Buy matched internet prices and I didn't have to wait or pay extra for shipping.

Winter Is Here
||Posted .While no good deed tends to go unpunished on Game of Thrones, my patience (and that of many collectors) was ultimately rewarded. While we didn't get a sigil cover with the initial release of the bluray, we are finally getting one now. Like may out there, I have been collecting the Best Buy Exclusive covers since Season 1 and was beyond glad to get my hands on this one. Season 6 itself was quite memorable with episodes that were not just cinematically stunning but certainly helped propel a variety of narrative plots. When the time comes, I'm hoping that our loyalty to Best Buy will be rewarded with sigil covers for Seasons 7 & 8 on the initial day of release.

Exclusive sigil packaging for the collector
||Posted .Not much more you can say about Game of Thrones s6 that hasn't been said already. Either you love the show or it's just not your thing. This packaging is for the collector like me who has been buying the Best Buy (BB) exclusive sigil packaging since s1. A little disappointed that this wasn't available upon initial release date (BB seems to favor the steelbooks suddenly), but better late than never.

The Saga continues...
||Posted .At this point I'm kind of pot-committed with this show. For each previous season I've gotten one of the Best Buy exclusive house sigil covers and I've continued this year with the Seven Pointed Star sigil cover. If you haven't seen the show yet you must start from the beginning but each season is worth watching and keeps you wanting more once you reach the finale.

You Need Season Six Like A Sword Needs a Whetstone
||Posted .Similar to other long running series like the Walking Dead, you are never exactly sure who may die and who may survive. This is especially true in season six of Game of Thrones and adds to the intensity of the drama.

Setting the stage for a grand finale
||Posted .Season 6 of Game of Thrones doesn't hit the heights of the show's first three years, but it's a definite return to form when compared to the hit-or miss fifth season. Better yet, as the show moves beyond adapting the George RR Martin novels, it takes some necessary steps to advance several characters' plots in ways that are necessary for the entire story to come to its conclusion. While the character development and dialogue might not be as sharp as it once was, the acting and plot twists remain strong, and the action sequences are some of the best ever seen on television. Episode 5, The Door, episode 9, The Battle of the [apparently inappropriate language for the Best Buy website], and the season finale The Winds of Winter are among the best the show has ever offered.
