      I have returned it after a week. Why? It looks good and it does its job like any other GPS. Yes, but that was not enough for me as a truck driver. The things I dont like about it: first when you are approaching scale it just beeps and it shows scale picture in top right corner. Not enough to alert you. Second, it shows speed limit which is incorrect many times and it shows you how fast you go. Thats good but if you do speeding it doesnt warn you or do anything just the speed you go becomes red. Not enough for me to alert me. Third, when you are looking for gas stations it shows you all the gas stations that have diesel, including BP, 7 Eleven, Citgo etc. You have to waste your time going there and realize they are maybe not built for trucks. Fourth, if you want to see ETA or how many miles you have left or any other info about your current trip you can see only one at the time and if you want to see other you need to change it every time. The GOOD thing is when you start your trip you can change the route that gps gave you at the moment and pick to use some other street/highway by your choice. Its helpful because sometimes gives you some weird route so you need to take a look very carefully where the gps is leading you not just click and go. Overall, because of all those things I decided to return it and exchange it for Rand McNally 730 that has much more info about your trip at the same time and pretty much has everything I need for my job. GPS suppose to make our hard trucking life easier not to make it even more complicated! Sorry Garmin, I love you for car use but not this one for trucks. I expected much more from this one since its the newest model!

      At first it was hard to use but with some persistence and common sense with a dash of pressure to figure out how to use it because I was going to be transporting passengers that are elderly or have disabilities after my second day of mentoring (shadowing with someone) with a veteran driver was over which was 5.16.16. So, on 5.17.16 I was asked if I was ready to drive (on my own) and boy was I nervous. Anyway, the 770 gps got me through especially when the highways were crowded. I'd just click for the black left and right pointing arrows found somewhere while my gps was already engaged in navigating me on the highway. For the most part it worked, but when you're in Manhattan traffic sometimes there's just nothing you or the gps can do but wait it out with the stop and go traffic flow. It tells you also the speed limit on highways and local roads too which helps too. As for the truck navigation I cant, say much yet about it but plan to use it. The problem is I don't have the job i really want until I get my NY class A CDL. So, for now I'm just taking it easy. I hope my review helped and that someone puts a detailed review about the truck navigation for commercial vehicles.

      For example, I-80 at Sparks, NV. Exit 19 takes me to the TA, but Garmin wants me to take exit 20, which - because I live in Sparks, I know will route me into a Roundabout that trucks get trapped in all the time. If I don't take its recommended exit (which I don't), and stay on exit 19, and at the light that is 75 feet from the TA's fuel line entrance, it either tells me to take on-ramp up ahead (which returns me to freeway), or take left onto a street that will eventually take me back to freeway. I would say only purchase it if you already have a good idea how to get to your destination, though perhaps a bit hazy on details, but DO have the ability and experience to see what's in front of you and act on that instead of blindly (robotically) doing what the GPS wants you to do. On interstates and freeways, it's mostly good, but not always, either.

      Everything sucked accept the warnings.

      Real

      I drive 11-13 feet buses. A GPS that falls to the floor means something embarrassing has to be done after. The 7 inches 15.4 ounces is too much weight for it's suction mount. I'm done with the humiliation. Why are GPS not catching up with technology? The screen is nice but definitely not HD. The interface is also lame. Its a dinosaur compared to smart phones, HDR technology and apps like Waze. This devise is young but dying of old age. During rest periods, I'm forced to compare routes with my cell phone. The zig-zag and the on-off the highway routes that Garmin gives are grossly illogical. At first, I thought the gps was avoiding bridges, weight limits and the likes but even the routes I knew were botched. The reason this GPS did not get a 0-1 Rating is because the warnings are precise. But still the suggestions around those obstacles are worthless.

      I have been using Garmin GPS's for over 10 years. The ability to transfer all your info and saved places into another device is priceless. This Dezl version is great for several reasons. If you use moving trucks like I do, you can create a profile vehicle for each different one you may use, the gps will then calculate which roads that vehicle is allowed to travel on! Bridge heights, Expressway vs Parkway, etc. Works with any size vehicle, most of the time I use it in my car and select the car icon. Bluetooth app is handy too because when you link it with your phone, the GPS can get real time traffic and weather delays and updates your ETA accordingly. Pro truckers already know this is a great device.

      Truck driver and tech enthusiast here... It's hard finding a gps that creates the best route for every trip while taking into consideration your custom areas of avoidance and preferences but I'll let you know that this does that plus more. You have options to add a stop(or show the closest truck stop, parking or rest area) quickly and safely. The voice assistant for hands-free search and routing comes in clutch for me. I use the POI factory and download the user-updated list of TA's, Flying J's/Pilot's and the POI loader(for Garmin) to keep my essential places search at arm's length.

      The GPS does not seem to be accurate. When taking some exits it recommends, it recalculates. The full screen live cameras do not display. It cannot find traffic cameras on my route that is programmed in. Voice commands produce strange results. The smartphone app keeps disconnecting, the app says disconnected, but the Garmin still thinks it is connected. Will be driving a truck soon, hope those features work correctly. If these issues can be fixed, the review would be better. The traffic camera problem really annoys me because I had to pay extra for it. The live traffic is better than HD, but nowhere near as good as the Waze app.

        Thank you for your review and feedback on your dēzl 770LMTHD.

        If your dēzl is not providing you with accurate routes, you may want to check for software and map updates. The Garmin Express application will update the maps and / or software on Garmin devices. To download Express please click on the following link http://software.garmin.com/express.html

        The Garmin Safety Camera alerts have a feature in which they will only warn you if you are traveling within 10% below the speed limit or any range above the speed limit. If you are driving in the speed limit range and you have the latest safety camera update on the device but you are still not alerted to every camera, you can report the location of the camera on our website to be investigated. These cameras are not used by law enforcement and are only used for controlling traffic. These are often confused for red light cameras and will not provide an alert.

        To report a missing Garmin Safety Camera view the following article: https://buy.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.htm?caseId={9a49d730-1a06-11de-76c5-000000000000}

        Garmin offers three different types of traffic services in North America: Garmin Traffic, Live Traffic, and HD Digital Traffic. All three traffic services receive traffic data from outside sources. These are only available within designated coverage areas; for the Nationwide Coverage Map please see: http://www.navteq.com/hdtraffic/

        If the voice command feature is not working as expected, some facture to be considered are software updates, ambient noise and normal tone of voice. We have a FAQ article http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={00c3bb20-9ad2-11dd-f60b-000000000000}&kbName=garmin which covers some troubleshooting steps.

        The Smartphone Link app communicates via Bluetooth, please make sure the software is up to date on the dēzl. You may visit this FAQ article for troubleshooting step http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId={5d7cb200-3e38-11e2-e8a7-000000000000}&kbName=garmin If the problem continues, we encourage you to please contact Garmin Customer Support at http://www.garmin.com/support

      The only flaw that I find with this GPS is that It routes you the long way to get to your destination. When it routes me to a destination that I already know the best route, it will route me through the Highway, when all I have to do is take a 5 minute route locally. It;s very frustrating when you are in a location you are not too familiar with it would route me the long way. The only way I know is that once I arrive at my destination, I would bypass a street that I could have taken for a shorter route.
