It Does MOST of what I need it to

What I need: 1. GPS to track race times and accurate mileage. 2. Waterproof (or mostly) 3. Time display 4. Inactivity Alerts 5. Step counter 6. Heart rate monitor. 7. Cost less than $250. 8. Sync with my phone. (Garmin Forerunner 15 lacks this feature) I did A LOT of research before I decided on the Forerunner 15. I had a FitBit that bit the dust after I accidentally got it wet. That was a bummer. The Fitbit is a glorified pedometer that syncs to your phone. Although it's small, you still have to wear a watch and check your phone constantly to see step count. The Garmin Forerunner 15 does have a nice watch display. It is easy to use and understand. The battery life is stellar. Much better than the Fitbit. My only gripe is that I wish it would sync to my phone app. The step display is clear, easy to read, and the light is great. Mileage is the most accurate I have seen thus far. (I compared it with an "old school" step counter). Fitbit is a bit generous (usually registered 10% more steps than what I actually took). I like the look and design of the new fitbit Surge, but with the battery life issues, and bugs in the software, I am going to hold on to my Forerunner for another year or so.

I have participated within the sports world from the very time I can think back to as a young child. I played Basketball at OSU for two years, and finally decided it was time to hang the jersey up and throw in the towel. For any person whom has dedicated a large portion of their life to a highly competitive physical activity, and came to the realization that it was time put it down, knows how devastating it feels. It was like I lost a part of me. So, I dabbled in various types of exercise, even joined a small basketball league. For years, nothing satisfied my inner self competition, constantly striving to go harder, faster, and smarter. I was never fully involved nor familiar with the aspect of solely just running. Long story short, I am now, absolutely in love with lacing up my running shoes and taking off. Sometimes not even knowing what type of workout I was going to engage in OR other times, I end up just lightly jogging with a smile on my face and two dogs running right along with me. The Garmin watch is currently assisting me significantly in my daily training, in preparation for my very first Triathlon! The applications on my Garmin are extremely beneficial along with very accurate in feedback on my workouts. The battery life is amazing! I love how I do not have the worry of having to one, change out a battery, two buying the appropriate battery replacement, and three losing any data should the battery life completely give out!

I have been using the Forerunner 15 for a couple months now. My wife and I liked it so much that I also purchased one for her. My wife and I started 5K training in the Spring. I found that most of our trainers used GPS watches to aid in training. This model was highly recommended due to ease of use, performance and price. I first purchased a Forerunner 15 for myself which was a huge aid in training having the ability to track pace. My wife seen how much this was helping me and wanted to purchase one. This is a relatively inexpensive model, so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive models. The following really aren't complaints (mostly nitpicking): It supports heart rate monitor, but you have to purchase separately. It doesn't support bluetooth, so you must use an adapter cable to sync. Display options are limited, as it will only display two measurements at the same time. No biggie, but it won't let you select every combination, only "preset" options, but most combinations are covered. Like I said, not complaining because it works great and the Garmin Connect application syncs and works well with other websites/applications such as Calorie Counter, myfitnesspal, etc. I would definitely recommend the Forerunner 15 if you're looking for a basic GPS watch that is reliable, easy to use and works great.

I previously owned another Garmin from 2009 and finally needed to get a new one. I am satisfied with this watch, it does exactly what I need it to do. Track my runs and biking with GPS. It easily downloads to the computer through its USB connection and only takes seconds. This watch is smaller and be more appealing for a lady to wear but I wanted this color so it will do. When I do a mud run like the Spartan Beast, I just tape up the band with electric tape for added support. I will keep my eyes open for a larger band versus the small band (it does say small when you buy this). The battery life is also impressive compared to my older Garmin. If I forget to charge this up it will still be good for a run or two on the following days. I average 25 miles a week. So my runs are any where between 30 minutes to an hour average. So the battery is pretty good for this type of runner.

I purchased this watch after trying and returning the forerunner 220, which I found to be far too complicated. I've run competitively for more than 20 years and have been resistant to watches other than my faithful ironman, but the stats this watch gathers have been so helpful with my training. And I like being able to track my sleep too. The technology works great with my Mac and I check the stats on my iPhone too. Though it seems I can only get my sleep stats on the phone app. But the best thing was that it was easy to figure out. Instructions were simple and I had everything set up within one short evening. Gps is sometimes slow to connect, and I do miss having a countdown timer, but other than that I love this watch. Plus the color is great and size isn't too large.

Great GPS Watch for the Price

This is my first experience with a GPS watch and I have been very happy with my purchase. The watch face is large enough to read while running, the buttons are easy to press to navigate between screens, and it fits really well. Sure beats having to use my phone for every run! The only thing I don't love about it is that I'm unsure of whether the auto-pause actually works or not. Truthfully, I haven't researched the issue on my own because it's not a deal breaker for me, but I've noticed when I'm at a crosswalk and have to stop, it usually doesn't pause for me. Overall, excellent GPS watch for the price. I'm very happy with it!

I am a first time GPS watch user and I was a bit nervous about it. It has nice features: timer, pedometer (it usually gives me a little more steps than I actually took), split times per mile, and an option to have a time set to run for a certain time and then walk for a certain time if you are doing interval training. I also really enjoy how small it is compared to many other watches I looked at. The only down sides I would say is that when using the GPS setting, the battery drains pretty quickly and the over-counting of my steps by a little. But then again, it's pretty easy to pop it onto the charger. Overall, I am very happy with this watch.

This is my first running watch, and I am pretty happy with it. I'm currently training for a half marathon and it is mostly meeting my needs. Only complaints are that the GPS can sometimes be slow to connect (especially in big cities with tall buildings), and that with frequent runs, the watch needs to be charged fairly often (~once/week). Good things: Good functionality for price Simple watch/interface, does just what you need No battery drainage from bluetooth syncs. Must plug in to sync Settings for what is displayed while running are very customizable Size is great for an average to small wristed female!
