Great GPS for the price
||Posted .I purchased this GPS a couple of days before leaving town, driving from NC to PA and back. It worked like a charm, giving accurate directions at the proper times. I LOVE the photoreal and bird's eye junction features that let me know at a glance which lane to be in (especially helpful when taking an off ramp with multiple lanes veering off in different directions). I found it easy to search for different waypoints (stores, gas stations, rest areas, etc.) and the whole system from the main driving/map screen to the menu to be very intuitive and easy to use. The traffic feature really helped me out a time or two with popping up, letting me know of traffic congestion and giving me a suitable detour. I haven't used the smartphone apps or the blue tooth connection, voice recognition or expandable storage yet so I can't speak on those features. The included mount works just fine for me (2011 Elantra) and hasn't given me any problems as of now but I have a back up mount handy just in case. All in all I think this is a wonderful GPS unit at a fair cost for all of the features that it offers and I have recommended it to several people.

Great feature; great price.
||Posted .This GPS was in the same price group with several others (well under $200) but was the only one with voice recognition. It's easy to use and accurate. The screen has great resolution. The only thing I'm not thrilled about is that I can't get the suction cup on the stand that came with it to stick to my dashboard. It's a very small suction. The previous owner of my car had something on the dash that has left a residue, so I am going to have to find a way to get the Garmin to stick. But the GPS itself is great, and I'm thrilled I got it.

Great GPS for the money
||Posted .I really like the Garmin - nuvi 2597LMT 5" GPS with Built-in Bluetooth but my wife loves it even more. With the 'voice command' and bluetooth it makes it easier to 'drive hands' free. The only problem I have is that she (when we are in the car together) makes 'her' phone compatible with the bluetooth. LMAO

Love it
||Posted .I love this GPS. The directions are very clear. I am able to see if the next exit is almost there. The landmark is a big plus. I would not trade a Garmin for any other GPS. Thanks!!!!

Q: QuestionCan this be used right out of the box?My husband and I need some kind of navigation and we're sick of printing out mapquest directions all the time. We are low tech and currently have "dumb phones", but considering upgrading to bluetooth capabilities for the new car we're getting. Can this product be used right out of the box, or do you need to plug it into the car to work? Does it have it's own power supply? what type: disposable batteries, car interface via usb connection? Does it need to connect to the internet?
Asked by smartlady113.
- A:Answer It CAN be used right out of the box, as when I opened it the battery was about 1/4 charged. They do however recommend that you install the latest USA map and device updates which took me roughly 90 minutes through my pc's usb port using the enclosed cable. You would want to charge it before using it extensively, by using the included charging cable that plugs into the 12 volt cigarette lighter charging ports in your vehicle. There are no replaceable/disposable batteries in it that I can tell.

Q: QuestionCan I speak an address and it will come on just from my voice?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I will be happy to assist you with your voice command question. The voice command feature will not bring the nüvi out of hibernation mode. You will first need to power the nüvi on, then you may use your voice command phrase to activate the feature. <MC>
