Worked like a champ!!!
|Posted .I looked over tons of reviews on tons of different GPS units and thought they were all a bit ridiculous. People were moaning that it would not update fast enough. MINE DID!!! It would not read out the turn by turn. MINE DID!!! It was hard to pick up a signal. MINE DID!!! And in the middle of nowhere America none the less. Bottom line, for the price I paid for this unit. It works perfect. We drove from one coast to the next and it did not let us down once. When it gives you an estimated time of arrival, it is spot on! It even let me know when a school zone was approaching in a town I did not know even existed. It is a great size as well. This is a great GPS. BUY IT!

Easy to use.
|Posted .I love how I can just search based on topic or specific thing. Works out perfect when we travel because it makes it that much easier to find things such as shopping, food & so on. Easy to use. For the price it is definitely worth it. The only thing I do not like is the cigarette charger. Those tend to break easier as opposed to a removable plug that you can just insert. So for this reason I purchased the extended warranty. I also love how it has lifetime maps.

Great Screen Size & Easy To Use
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI had read many reviews before purchasing this unit & found this is a very easy device to use. I chose this model because of its 6 inch screen which makes for easy viewing from the dash mount. I also had purchased the their top model dash mount which has more weight than the lesser cost model. The dash mount has a tacky bottom surface to help keep it in place, I prefer this over using the suction cup style mount that is included with this GPS unit. The included power cord has a longer length than most cords that are supplied with cell phones, so, you can place the GPS just about anywhere in your vehicle. I also bought the soft carry case to protect the screen from scratches when storing the unit. I've always wanted a GPS unit & had relied on a cell phone in the past. But with my Garmin unit, I am able to glance at its larger screen much easier than the cell phone, and seeing clearly how far away I am from my next turn. Plus, I like the fact of being connected directly to the GPS satellites & not worrying about being in a fringe cell phone reception area. The unit counts down in 0.1 mile increments as you're driving and displays your vehicle speed as well. Icons also will show up on the screen for various gas stations & restaurants you are nearing. I thought it was so cool to see their actual business logos popping up on the screen. This is an excellent unit & a great value for the price. I highly recommend this product.

Not too bad
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWe got this model to replace our previous Garmin that was about 8 or 9 years old. We could no longer update the maps on our old GPS, so it was constantly getting us lost when we had drive through any city. I really like the size of this GPS! It's about double the size of our old one. One great feature that this has, is that it will show you the speed limits for the area you are in! It's such a great help when you are in an unfamiliar area and may have not notice the speed limit sign. The little speed limit sign on the screen will turn red if you are speed and if you enter a school zone it will alert you with a "dinging sound". The school zone alert was a big help while we were in Chicago over the holidays, since one stretch that we were on had 7 schools and they would come up on you out of nowhere. I also like that you can change the voice on this GPS to some fun ones! There is an Elf, Dracula, a Yetti, a NASCAR Driver, and a few others. The elf is my favorite! I DO wish they would offer more fun voices... we bought our GPS a year ago and Garmin has yet to add any new ones. There are lots of languages to choose from also. It seems to pick up satellite service pretty well. Sometimes it might take quite a few minutes to acquire satellite in some spots though. I really like that when your on the interstate and coming up on an exit, it will do a split screen and show you a view of what's coming up, like with signs above the road and it has arrows to show you know what lane to be in for you exit. Its a great feature to have when your on a crowded 6 lane interstate and the exits are coming up fast and you not sure what lane to be in. Overall a would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to buy a new GPS.

A Good General Purpose Nav System
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendReplaced my older Nuvi since the cords and battery were wore out. This one is better in many respects lifetime maps. Shows Lanes to be in on multilane highway. Shows next turn even if it hundreds of miles away. Extremely fast startup using new technology. Shows both speed limit and speed and a red warning if you exceed the limit. Auto display of School Zones. Display does not wash out in sunlight like my old nuvi. Good voice reproduction

This was an impulse buy
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this product just to boost my rewards points before I left from Indiana on a vacation to Colorado. This product proved to be much more useful than I had anticipated. I was able to use it while on the trails in the mountains 4-wheeling and had no signal problems. I travel the US a lot and I have had no problems with my Garmin. Most GPS systems won't navigate to my house, in the middle of nowhere, it usually brings me to the wrong house but my Garmin actually goes straight to my driveway. Additionally I've used this product in major cities like Louisville St. Louis Denver Colorado Springs Kansas City and it works great in the city as well. The one issue I have is that the internal battery doesn't last for very long but that was easily remedied by purchasing a power bank which I already had for my phone. If you plan on using this device outside of your car where it is not plugged in I highly recommend getting an alternative power source.

Large Screen
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this for my grandmother who just moved to a new state and is afraid of technology. I set it up for it and it was a breeze. The best part is the "home" button which will give her directions to her new house from anywhere. The large 6" screen makes it easy for her to see as well. I only wish it were easier to store addresses. It's not actually difficult, but my grandma will never figure it out.

Q: QuestionDoes it announce road names or specific exit numbers prior to a turn?I currently have a tomtom, which I strongly dislike. It just tells me to "turn right in 800 yards" or "take the exit to the right" when there is often an A,B or C exit. Very confusing!!!
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It announces the road and exit you should turn on.

Q: QuestionDoes the 65 LM have traffic avoidance?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Before you can receive traffic data, you must have a device model that includes lifetime traffic, and you must use the vehicle cable packaged with your device. Traffic avoidances are only available on these devices, the nuvi 65LM does not include traffic, however there is a model version of this device called the nuvi 65LMT, which includes the lifetime traffic. ~QKO
