Vivosmart OLED screen goes out, makes it unuseable
|Posted .I purchased my first Garmin Vivosmart close to a year ago. Since that time I have returned it 4 times for the same reason, the OLED screen will go out. I read that OLED screens go out 4 times faster than standard LED screens. Also they are more sensitive to water, even if the vivosmart is supposed to be waterproof to 50 meters. Other than that one major flaw, it is an awesome device. The only problem is without the screen it is basically useless. The OLED does allow the device to be thinner and sleek, which makes it one of the most attractive fitness bands on the market, but not at the expense of not having a display at all. My wife's and my sister in law's have also gone out. So that is a total of 6 devices that I know of that have this issue. I feel like it is a much broader issue, yet I don't think Garmin has addressed it publicly. They really should do a recall on all of them.

Bad experience
Posted .I purchased a vivosmart in Nov 2014. It is now June 2015 and I am working on my fourth exchange with Garmin's customer service team. Although they are understanding that the product has simply malfunctioned four different times it is still rather annoying to have to go though the return and exchange process once let alone four times. The first time the clear plastic film came off the back of the tracker and washed all the serial numbers and other information off the back of the device. I short time after the screen became unresponsive. The second time the screen froze and was missing pixels. The third time the screen became very faint and you could not read any of the information even on the highest light setting. And when you touched the device and the screen woke up the device became very warm. I mean out of the ordinary I don't want this on my wrist warm. The customer service team has been good exchanging the devices out. And I enjoy the tracker as I use it everyday when it is working. However, to deal with sending it back and then not having one for roughly two weeks is so not fair for the $180.00 I paid for the device. At this point I would think they would offer me some kind of credit or a heart rate monitor. Something to show rather then just respond to this post that they actually are understanding of my experience. Anyhow, the Garmin Vivosmart is a nice model when it works, but as Ive said having to send for a fourth device after shelling out 180 bucks has frustration written all over it.

Love this activity tracker.
|Posted .In addition to reading steps, this activity tracker does my heart rate accurately, notifies me of text messages, telephone calls, facebook posts, speed when riding bicycle, and can even find my phone.

Pixel, Display Issue
|Posted .I am very disappointed in the Garmin Vivosmart fitness tracker. I bought it in March 2016 and enjoyed using it until the display pixels started to fade out. I've never gotten it wet or damaged it. I didn't know this was a know issue or I would have selected a different tracker. I would like to know how I can get a replacement or different fitness tracker.

Okay for a few months
Posted .After 6 months the alarm no longer vibrates. Also the lower right side of the display doesn't light up any more. Makes it tough to read text messages. Picture should show all L's.

Pixels lines disappeared too fast
Posted .Very disappointed with this product. One star because it worked well at the gening until the pixels lines started to disappear one by one over a period of two months… until it started looking like what you see in the picture. Garmin customer service is terrible, irresponsive, and unwelling to do anything about it. Lesson learned, stay way from Garmin products all together…

Great Features
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI owned a Fitbit, Jawbone 24 and finally a the Garmin Vivosmart. I have to say that I love the notification features - I have it paired with an iPhone 5 (iOS7) with no issues. The app is not as sophisticated as Jawbone however, but with updates, I don't see it being too far behind. I somewhat question the accuracy of the step-counter... and considering this is a fitness band, this could potentially be a major drawback. I have a newborn son - When I rock him in my arms, the band has some difficulty telling the difference between a step and an arm rock. That said, I can't really blame the armband, because the motion is almost identical. All in all, I'll be sticking with the Vivosmart, though, as it's more comfortable than the Jawbone (in my opinion), and I love the notification features.
Q: QuestionHow does it recharge? The description says it has rechargable batteries but the "What's included" only shows the band and a manual but no cable. So how do you recharge it?
Asked by Bull Girl.
- A:Answer It comes with a charging cable. No worries.

Q: QuestionWill Vivosmart count calories burned on a stationary bike?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, you actually have to activate the running timer on it. Hold down your finger on the band until the menu comes up. Hit the running guy, and then hit the play button. When you stop exercising then hit the button again. It will calculate based on your time

Q: QuestionWater Resistant & Time to recharge? Is the vivosmart water resistant up to 50 meters like the vivofit? I haven't been able to find this anywhere. Also, how long does it take to recharge approximately?
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: Garmin - Vivosmart Activity Tracker (Large) - Purple- A:Answer The Vivosmart is water resistant. I have it on during showers and when I swim at the gym. I only take it off once a week for a couple hours to charge all the way. I haven't looked close enough to see how long it actually takes to charge, I just leave it connected a couple hours and it's done.

Asked by EliFla.
- A:Answer According to the Garmin website: Small bands are for wrist sizes of 127mm to 172mm Large bands are for wrist sizes of 155mm to 221mm So in order to properly judge, you will need to measure your wrist. I can say that you more than likely will need the large though.
