This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - White
- A:Answer Hi TONYTURKEY12345 - Yes, all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. Also, the microwave ovens are all designed for adaptation for the following three types of ventilation: 1. Outside Exhaust (Vertical – Delivered from factory in vertical position). 2. Outside Exhaust (Horizontal). 3. Recirculating (Non-vented ductless). Q: QuestionWhich GE over the stove microwave has the quietest fan?
Asked by Mila.
- A:Answer Hi there, thanks for your interest in our microwaves! All over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components as well as help the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. You will not be able to turn the vent fan off manually during this time. With that said, there are different settings to dictate fan speed so although we may not be able to pinpoint a "quietest" microwave, we can let you know we don't expect you to have too big of issue with the sound level of any microwave you were to purchase. If you have any other questions, you can always message us on social media at any time. We'd love to see you in our GEA family. - Guy@GEA

Q: QuestionCan I replace an GE microwave model number JVM3162DJ2WW with another GE microwave JVM3162DJWW ? Notice the last 2 is missing in the replacement.
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: GE - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - White
- A:Answer Hi, there. Great question, and it's great that you are looking to replace your microwave with another GE microwave! The model is the same, but the extra 2 is an engineering code. For example, if you needed an extra part, searching for the model number that is on your microwave would allow you to see the part breakdown for your specific model. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. - When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. We hope this information helps and we're here for any additional questions you may have. All the best!- Kianna@GEA

Q: QuestionI have this microwave and I was wondering how much wattage is dropped when reducing power. I just made peanut brittle like I’ve done for 15 years in my old one and it burned it. Help! I need this goodie for Christmas.
Asked by Lynn.
- A:Answer Hi - We hate to hear you're having difficulty making your Christmas goodies. Power levels are a percentage of "on time" for the magnetron tube which cycles on and off to obtain the various levels. Each power level gives the microwave energy for a certain percent of the time. Power level 7 is microwave energy 70% of the time. Power level 3 is energy 30% of the time. Your new microwave may heat at a higher cooking wattage than your previous model. Therefore, we would recommend reducing the cooking time and leaving the power level the same to achieve the results you have in the past. We hope this helps as we do understand the importance of holiday traditions. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA
