About 6 months after I purchased this unit, it had "catastrophic failure" per the tech that came to my house...so bad that it will require 2-3 hours of repair work and, in the opinion of the tech, should be replaced altogether. Unfortunately, GE is not doing that for me even with a "case manager" assigned to solve the problem, and three months after I reported this problem it is STILL not fixed. I've seen everything in this experience - a faulty product, a tech missing an appointment, a severely backordered part, an incorrectly ordered part, the inability to locate my records because my name was spelled incorrectly in their files, an error in the classification of the appliance (they were somewhat responsive when they thought it was a refrigerator, but when they learned it was a wine fridge/beverage center they stopped caring), etc. My wife and I have wasted countless hours dealing with this unfixed problem and have likely lost $500+ of good wine. I've had many appliances in my life and the only ones that have given me major problems have been made by GE (including a refrigerator and a microwave). So avoid this product at all costs....and give some real thought to whether you should buy any GE product.
