      Horrible Quality

I have had this refrigerator less than 2 weeks. There has been ice and water in the freezer since it was plugged in. When I open it up drops of water and icicles fall on the floor. I have had to wipe water out of it two times a day! Service has already been called on it TWO TIMES. I have had to request vacation time to meet someone here on those two separate occasions, missing valuable time on the clock at work. Same repairman has been here both times to repair the unit; he has been professional and helpful to do the best he could to remedy the problems but what can you do when an appliance is poorly made? What has happened to quality and pride in America any longer? The first time he was here he put a washer/shim to get the freezer door to close properly. That did not work. Today he was advised to put caulk around the case/liner flange. My brand new refrigerator has caulk smears around the edges. The repairman did the best he could to clean it up but it looks awful. I usually research anything before I buy it. Car, electronics, appliances, etc. In this case, I made a terrible mistake and did NOT research this appliance's ratings. Terrible mistake. I don't know what I have to do to get my money back and either upgrade to another appliance. I am very displeased. I do not like being aggressive or rude about anything of this nature, but in this instance I am insisting for the appliance to be returned. I won't pay for something that has already had two service calls put on it in less than two weeks.

Hello Snicks - this is Nancy at GE Appliances. We are very sorry to hear that your refrigerator is not working properly. This is not the outcome we would expect to hear and we apologize for your inconvenience. Please verify that the refrigerator doors are closing properly on their own when opened about half way. The refrigerator should be slightly higher in the front so as to help the doors always close. When the refrigerator door closes, the freezer door may pop open and not close back completely if the front legs are not raised high enough. I hope this helps! Thanks for providing your feedback! Good, but not great (with some issues)

I am currently using this as a spare refrigerator in the garage. Pros: 1. Cools very well in the freezer and fresh section. I don't have turned up all the way maybe 3/4 of the way and it cools down to about 31-33 degrees in the fresh section (I like my drinks cold). The products in the back get colder than the products towards the front of the fresh food section (keep this in mind). The freezer feeds the cold air into the fresh section of the fridge. Please note there is only one control for both the Freezer and Fresh food sections. So, you may need to play around on what is the best temp for your needs. 2. Plenty of space for extra drinks or holiday leftovers. I am using as a spare, so this is plenty of space for me. 3. Noise level is pretty quiet. The compressor turns on more frequently than my main fridge in the kitchen, but it's not a problem because it's in the garage. Overall, the sound is not bad. Cons: 1. There are multiple defects w/ the unit, I received. The freezer section has lumps, fridge section has portions that are not flush. It's great that it's made in the USA, but don't half a** assemble/build products and better QA. 2. The freezer gasket is a problem. It's not strong enough and lets air in. The result condensation/water droplets around the edge of the freezer. I visited several different big box stores all had the same issue. BTW the unit is leveled/slightly tilted back as recommended. 3. The freezer doesn't have a light.

I bought this refrigerator as a secondary unit that I keep in my mud room so the space is somewhat small. The narrow width and taller height are primarily the reasons I chose this model. Overall, very happy with the refrigerator. Storage is reasonable given the size, the shelves are adjustable, and it runs very quietly. One caveat, however: the controls for the temperature in the fridge and freezer are very, very sensitive. This model has a manual dial rather than the digital thermostat in my kitchen refrigerator and the dial goes from way too warm to keep things fresh to way too cold with just the slightest bump. But, after playing with it, I've found the right temperature and verified it with a thermometer to ensure it was below 37 degrees. I would recommend this refrigerator, especially if you have a small space.

I feel like GE always makes quality products and because of that I decided to purchase this brand for the new apartment I moved in to. Since day one it has been quiet, efficient, and very accommodating to the rather small space which I call the kitchen. Both the freezer and refrigerator keep products cold, cool, and fresh. The amount of things this fridge can hold is quite amazing. I live with one other roommate and there always seems to be extra room for food when guests come over. The design and usage of the interior is just smart and simple and is the biggest reason as to why I love it! Seriously though, it's well worth the money spent. If you need a replacement or are looking for something simple and reliable, this is the fridge for you!

I waited three months to write this review so as to check out the performance. No problems with the cooling aspects. The lowest shelf on the door is a little hard to see when standing and looking down from the top shelf on the door. The lowest shelf is an excellent place to put the hubby's beer and I get no ideas when I am going for the milk on the top shelf. The additional clear crisper bin was not needed. The two crisper compartments on the bottom are sufficient. The inside area is smaller than the last refrigerator we had but as the fourth of our five children heads off to college;downsizing is good. Great refrigerator for the money.

The fridge took over 6 weeks to come because it was a custom order. You are SOL if you need bisque and I did, they do not stock anything in that color. The refridgerator was delivered on Saturday 3/11/17 and I was told to let it run for 12 hours to acclimate it. I have never had to do that in my life. The temperature never got below 58* inside the freezer. The compressor never turned on. The GE technician was here today to "service" it (it's brand new and I couldn't use it, so service it is too kind) apparently the compressor was never "plugged in" in the factory. Yep, I'm serious. He was here all of 5 minutes. It works now, but under the circumstances...I'm not sure I would reccomend GE for anything.

This is a very nice fridge. I love the in-door racks. The bottom rack sits back a little further than the others- it's perfect for beer bottles. The fruit & vegetable drawers have convenient, easy to use sliders to adjust humidity. They're labeled Vegetables and Fruit in case you forget (like me) which ones like high humidity and which ones don't. I bought this fridge to replace a 30 year old Whirlpool fridge that was nearly identical in appearance (bisque isn't too popular a color anymore it seems). It had suddenly died and Best Buy gave me a great deal on this one. It has a hookup for an icemaker, however I can't speak to its functionality as I don't have a way to hook it up.

      Good for what it is

We are using this as a extra refrigerator in the basement. The first thing you will want to do when you get it is turn the thermostat to full cold, don't use the recommended setting because that is way too hot. At full cold freezer will stay at 5 degrees and refrigerator will stay around 38-41 degrees depending where you place the thermometer. I would have liked to be able to make it closer to 35 degrees and freezer at 0 but you can't do that at this price point. Seems like it has plenty of space but the most important thing is keeping it as cold as possible without freezing things which makes food last much longer.
