First off, this does NOT have a stainless steel tub like some of the pictures lead you to believe. That said. Still a very quiet unit in my opinion. Seems to do a good job getting the dishes clean. A little too easy to change wash zones without noticing (we always do a full load). Steam feature seems like it helps. I personally don't get worked up over how dry dishes are at the end. I don't waste energy on heated dry, I just open the door when it's done. Careful with installation. We have a pretty good lip on our counter, so I didn't get the leveling feet high enough. When I screwed in the brackets on top to the counter I apparently deformed the tub top slightly and screwed up the door switch clearances to where it wouldn't recognize the door as closed. Raising the feet and loosening the tension on those brackets and it works fine. The silverware basket works great when attached to the lower rack. Not sure why you would attach to door as it does not give you any more room. Overall there appears to be plenty of room.. Overall I really like it now. Real question like all the modern dishwashers is how long will it last.

I purchased this because my 12+ year old GE Profile stopped cleaning the dishes. It ran, but after trying every rinse aid product, cleaning the filters, wands and gallons of CLR we could never get clean glasses with our South Orange County, CA hard water. Add to that a few rusted racks and other various replacement parts, it seemed to be of better economy to replace the unit rather than try to keep it going. This unit was relatively easy to install as long as you have the tools. I'm a contractor with thousands of tools, but still, who has a 15/16" wrench in their standard tool box? Seriously GE, use a 1" dimension for the feet or is that the penalty you extract for installing it myself? Dimensions were accurate. The kit with all the necessary tubes, wires and connections is extra, but only because GE manufactures it that way. I can only suppose that's to get the price point down, so expect to pay an extra $30 for the kit. Front door is not high quality Stainless Steel like the GE Profile line, but there in lies the sacrifice for price point . One of the things you can't tell when you buy online. Magnets stick, so I expect to start seeing rust marks about the time the warranty expires, or this will require constant cleaning with SS Cleaner. An extended warranty plan may be less expensive than a new door? Interior is dark grey plastic, rather than bright white, and a bit foreboding. Otherwise it's well organized with the standard GE racks. Plenty of room for daily dishes, water bottles and smaller parts. (My wife and I are cyclists and go through lots of water bottles) Operation is simple. There are various cleaning programs, but after 12+ years with a Multi-program Profile model and never remembering if I had ever used anything other than the standard wash cycle, we opted for the simpler model. We're on our 5th cycle since installation (including Christmas dishes, ) and things are fine. The glasses are CLEAN!!! There is a strange drainage sequence of three purges, but we'll get used to that. It runs acceptably quiet, but you can definitely hear it if your in the next room. Again, value oriented. Pretty and it works great new, but a few compromises. We'll see if we can get 12 years plus out of this one.
