    Miniscule and doesn't rinse well

I have a short cabinet height which forced me into this dishwasher. My previous dishwasher was a Hotpoint and had ample room for a day of dishes including mixing and cooking implements for three people. This GE dishwasher barely fits a day of dishes for three and don't even think about a mixing bowl or cook pot. The tines are very high which makes it difficult to maneuver pieces in. My plates have a bit of a curve, so the don't fit well between the tines on the bottom rack. The high and close tines on the top rack make it difficult to get pieces to the back and difficult to fit pieces with edges (Tupperware bowls are hard to stack well). I have also found that it doesn't rinse well. I use cascade pods, as recommended by the manufacturer (and which I've used for years). Everything smells like detergent. I put sliced apples in a plastic container for lunch, and the apple slices tasted like cascade. Ick. I don't like that the only cycles available for a no-heat drying are the light cycle and the rinse cycle. Why can't O choose a pot-scrubber cycle with no heat drying? That bus me. I have no complaints with the Best Buy team. The short cabinet threw them for a loop and they substituted this washer for the one I ordered at no additional cost to me. I sincerely appreciate all of the effort they spent helping me get a dishwasher in my home. This washer probably suffers by comparison. My other one was great. I waited nearly 2 months before writing this review, hoping I would grow to love it. I have not.

Superior washer for a smaller-than-average space!

After seaching for weeks for a dishwasher that would fit our space, which is slightly shorter in height (floor to countertop) than the average dishwasher we found this great GE. It is perfect in every way: fits nicely in the space, looks sleek with the hidden digital controls, is very quiet, and most importantly, cleans and shines the dishes, glassware, pans and utensils to perfection and dries perfectly, too. It can be set to start later with delay-start, and it has 7 cycles to choose from including sanitize and glasses. Slightly smaller capacity inside is great for singles, couples or smaller families. We are very happy with it - a great dishwasher which solved our space-problem!

This is a great dishwasher for the size and price. It cleans all very well as long as you don't utilize the sanitary dish setting, which seems to bake on the soap because of the extra heat for this setting. The draw back is that it is not very deep and for a family of four, we run a load on a daily basis. However, with a late 1950's kitchen and not very deep cabinets, it was one of the few that fit the bill.

I’ve owned this dishwasher for a little over a month now and it appears to be working fine and getting the job done. Easy to operate, dishes come out clean. That’s what I needed. My only note - thus far - and the reason for 4 stars instead of five - the trays are a bit small and limits the amount you can put in at one time. Otherwise, two thumbs up.

For shorter countertops, but also very shallow

I bought this to go under some 1970's countertops that are shorter than the ones that are common today. The dishwasher fixes that issue, and it also cleans and dries very well with no complaints, but it is also very small depth-wise...it's like only 3/4 or so of a normal dishwasher. Be aware if you are trying to solve a height problem.

I have purchased and installed this DW in multiple commercial applications (ADA required) and it is by far the best value for the look and function and ADA size that I can find out there. Happy end users. Highly recommend.

This is a beaut. Picked her up for $300 plus tax as an open box item. My house didn't have one so a little retrofitting had to happen, took a few hours but otherwise this thing looks stunning and does the work of two wife's!

Bought it to match the rest of my new appliances, then realized it was much smaller than my previous dishwasher. Should have done my homework more.

Hello lorid - thank you for providing a review of your new dishwasher. We're sorry go hear that it is smaller inside than your previous unit. The new units do have the benefit of being flush with your cabinetry. We appreciate your feedback. Thanks for choosing GE Appliances! NANCYatGEA GE_Appliances
