We replaced a LG french door that died after 12 years of good service. Although the french door had 1 cubic ft more of space, the GE side by side has the space more efficiently arranged so we actually have more usable space. This new unit is SUPER quiet,you only hear it when it drops ice. The energy efficiency is superb @ 77.00 dollars in electricity a year to run. Temperatures are uniform through out the interior. Ice cream in freezer side is rock hard( how I like it). The thru the door ice and water work great. I read some reviews on other products of ice spewing from the dispenser,this is not the case with the GE. The doors will not stay open on their own, they close under their own design if not fully shut. It has an alarm function but it has never gone off as the doors shut themselves if slightly ajar. Unless you fully open the doors, they want to close. I checked consumer reports before purchasing and inspected the unit at the store prior to delivery. The Geek squad delivered and installed the unit right at the scheduled time. The install crew was very careful and polite,in and out in less than a hour. We are all very Happy with this product. I most definitely recommend this product to any one looking for a new refrigerator. It will not disappoint.

The slate finish is distinct & beautiful. Very spacious. Quieter than my last GE fridge. Cooled quickly - took only 9 hours after powered up.

I really like this frig. the ice maker perform flawlessly ( this is a big deal to me). My only beef is that the labels on the door for water/ice/crushed ice are not illuminated, so when I try to get a glass of ice water late in the evening, I can't tell where the buttons are. Instead, there is an indicator light above the button that is selected, but I still can't read the button label unless I turn on the kitchen lights.
