Q: QuestionAgitator speedSeems like all cycles are a very slow agitation speed. Is there a way to increase the speed?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Your new GE washer has the hydrowave wash system. The hydrowave wash system makes a longer 360 degree stroke and operates in both directions. This allows the clothing to travel longer in the water instead of short aggressive strokes. The longer travel helps to improve the turnover of clothing and gentle cleaning helps prevent fabric wear and color fading. The smoothness of the HydroWave wash system is also much quieter. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Q: QuestionFill takes to longAny reason why the fill takes so long before it starts to wash, also it fills and then it starts flashing and I have to hit the start button again to start the wash.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Hi-this is Sue from GE. I am happy to address the concerns with your washer. Slow fill can result when the water pressure is too low. To check your water pressure, contact your water company. Try using the washer when no other water sources in the home are being used. If the washer is in the fill mode too long, it will stop. That is most likely why the light flashes and you have to hit the start button again to start the wash. Slow fill can also result from stopped up screens in the washer water valve. To check your screens: Unplug the washer from the wall outlet. Turn off the water at inlet faucets. Pull the washer away from the wall to allow enough room to get behind. Locate the hose connections on your washer, take a pair of slip-joint pliers and turn the metal hose connections counter clockwise to remove. Allow the hoses to hang into a bucket to catch water. Inside the fitting on the washer are the screens. Clean the screens. Metal screens need to be gently pried out with a small pocket screwdriver. Plastic screens can be pulled using a pair of long nosed pliers. In some instances, you may have to replace the screens, re-attach the hoses, turn the water on and check for leaks. Plug the washer into wall outlet. Slide the washer back into place. The washer will not start to fill with lid open on Auto Load sensing settings. If the electronics need to be reset, unplug the washer, wait 2 minutes, plug back in and press START. If the above suggestions do not correct the situations, service may be required. You can contact GE Consumer Service at 1-800-432-2737. I hope this is helpful. Thanks for checking with us!

Q: QuestionCan I open the washer during the wash cycle without it starting to drain outthe water?Sometimes you might want to throw in another piece of clothing after the washer has filled and started the wash cycle. Can you do so and not have the water start running out or can you open the lid to just check to see if everything is ok?
Asked by BJS.
- A:Answer Absolutely not..It empties right away. There are times it does not even go thru the rinse cycle.

Q: QuestionHow loud is this washing machine? How loud is this washing machine? Is there a decibel specification? Thank you.
Asked by qguy.
- A:Answer Hello Qguy - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. GE does not have a decibel rating on our washing machines. This washer uses the HydroWave wash, which is a very quiet agitator wash system. Sounds you may hear include a metallic clicking when the shifter mechanism is engaging or disengaging, back and forth swoosh during agitation, water flow changes during the fill, and humming or gurgling when the water drain pump is running, I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

Q: QuestionDetergent under the clothes?Instructions say to put in detergent in first, then clothes. Is there a reason for that? What happens if you put the detergent on the clothes instead? I've noticed much less sudsing with the detergent being on the bottom, though I am using regular detergent (not using the auto-sense mode).
Asked by CSP.
- A:Answer I always put the detergent in after loading the clothes, it works just fine. The clothes come out very clean.
