Great machine! Great price! Great sales person!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looked at many washers and decided this GE top loading washer was what I wanted. No more bending down to pull my clothes out of the front loading washer & cleaning mold from the collar! No more agitater in the way and bruising my hands!

NEEDS IMPROVING!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So Disappointing! This is the second machine they delivered and it has even more problems. Just cancelled the 3rd replacement. The rinse cycle doesn't provide the same agitation as the wash cycle nor does it use the recirculation pump, which was a great idea. The clothes get enough water but don't circulate to rinse them out, and it empties in 3 minutes! Also, while doing a load on active wear, at the end of the rinse cycle the machine froze with 15 minutes left and it continued to try and extract water for over 15 minutes without changing. I had to unplug because I thought it was going to burn out the motor and start a fire! Is this really how this machine is suppose to work, does anyone else have any of issues?

Big and pretty
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I chose this machine to replace a 12 year old "standard" agitator type washer. It IS very different in how it washes. Please do yourself a favor and read about it before you decide to buy. Common things I've heard: is it loud? Not really, but it makes very different sounds (whirr, whirr, whirr) than an agitator (chug, chug, chug). I don't mind it, but some people might. The settings all make sense, but you can tweak the programming until you like how your clothes are washed. Yes, it can be frustrating to learn new things, but think of how long it takes to get used to a new cell phone! Spend the time and you will be happy. The one thing I haven't cracked yet: if you don't put them in the dryer, clothes have a lot more lint on them as they have less water running past them to wash it away, and are WAY MORE wrinkled. I'm thinking of testing out slower spin speeds (max = max wrinkled?). We shall see. I will say, I do not like how frequently bulky loads get unbalanced. A double load of sheets = not good. They fit in the machine, but caused troubles. Also, a dense but thin queen sized blanket caused quite the unbalanced ruckus as well. Though good news, I haven't had any unbalanced loads with just regular clothes. And yes, the chimes that play when the washer starts and finishes: a very pretty little sound, but it will not carry through your home. If you depend on a buzzer sound, this will disappoint you. My previous machine didn't have a buzzer so I like the little jingle sound just fine.

Posted .Hello Starqueen99 - thank you for providing a detailed review of your new washing machine. This is a wonderful model! We're glad you are overall pleased with the unit. The unit shouldn't get out of balance when it is doing the bulky cycle so please verify that it is still level. We agree to use the slower spin speeds if you are finding your clothes are wrinkled. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback. Thanks for choosing GE Appliances! NANCYatGEA

Great washer Very big
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great washer, Very Big Im a single guy and most of my clothes washed are work clothes , they get extremely dirty. It does a nice job on them. It also does a great job on my king bedding very important I gave it the five and benifit of doubt as I am not used to the new technology, Some cycles can take over and hour, Just plan ahead. ( it definitely isnt like the conventional washers) I just wash EVERYTHING on Saturday morning and go about my business and dry them when you get home. Only thing I dont like and still cant figure out if it works properly is the Softner dispenser, I am going to get a ball thingy , but in meantime I try to catch it at rinse and pour enough in, This thing is big and I like soft, so double it up. I am also looking into better softner as apposed to store brand. Also use the pods or packs all in one, use two.... and definitely use the Oxi it really gets the dingy out of my work clothes. Keep up the good work GE!

BEST machine for me!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started looking 2 years ago. Then, this January it became critical for me to get a new machine. Newly adopted kitty had ringworm. I spent so many hours, and days, looking at reviews. Several trips to BB and HD. (you can see my full review on HD. I am SO HAPPY with this washer. Having had the Kenmore Elite Oasis, I was familiar with impeller drum loading of wash. I wanted a machine that was NOT to high tech. Mainly, I wanted to be able to add sufficient water to the cycles and extend the SOAK time. All this and WASH my clothes clean. My previous washer miserably failed. I've only had this washer since Jan 24, but I've now washed 12 loads. Most required hot water and Deep Fill--due to ringworm. This machine delivered and then some. I couldn't be happier! And the spin choices are phenomenal. I don't find it noisy. NO problem with staying balanced, and I gave it some challenges--with area rugs and towels. It is just perfect! One thing, I have not noticed any sound signal when the wash is done. Nor is there any light--as my previous had. But THIS washer WORKS! Perfectly! And the 4.6cf size is quite ample. You bet, I recommend this washer! My drier still works after 40 yrs!! Only replaced the heating element, myself, about 4 years ago.

Only time will tell
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got the washer, so all I can say is delivery was great the guys took the time to make sure we were all set. The washer is well designed and has more than enough cycles to choose from. Large capacity so dropping in a comforter was no issue. My only concerns are the HE water levels which seem really low. Even with a medium to small load i cant for certain say that the agitator is doing a good job of cycling the clothes into the water. There is an option for deep wash but they dont recommend making a habit of it. The spin cycle does a really good job of wringing out the laundry but the tub did get out of balance when we washed just the comforter by itself. Even following the instructions. If we had the space a front loader might have been a better option for the HE washer.

Great Washing Machine!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace my original washer after 15 years of use which also was a GE. This was my obvious choice because my washer and dryer are in a closet so options were limited. So about this washer, love the diamond grey look! Looks so much better than your traditional white color. I like the many different washing options but personally, I only use a few at most. My clothes come out clean as expected and the washer is quiet for the most part compared to my 15 year old washer. The only reason I gave this washer 4 stars because for large loads, it becomes off balance more often than my old washer did. Yes, this washer rebalances itself but when initially off balance, it sounds really bad and you think it's going to break. I've learned to let it rebalance itself but my washer has moved slightly from its original spot. Overall, great washer!

A good,economical washing machine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Top Loading washer is very efficient, using very little water and electricity to run. It also does a good job spinning out any excess water, making the drying cycle shorter. I am happy with the choice.

Q: QuestionIs it recommended to always use the Deep Rinse option when using softener? Below it it says to set when adding fabric softener so I almost feel like it's not optional. Has anyone noticed a difference when using softener and not doing a deep rinse?
Asked by Darlene.
- A:Answer Interesting GE can be bothered patrolling forums of popular stores to answer questions & try to maintain the appearance that they care but when a less than 2 year old washer with a 2 year warranty starts leaking, they can't be bothered to respond to e-mails.

Q: QuestionIs this washer quiet or noisy?
Asked by washershopper.
- A:Answer If you need a quiet washer, this one is not for you. That's the only negative thing about it however. Otherwise, it's an excellent washer.

Q: QuestionHow well does the spin cycle remove the water from clothing at the end of the wash cycle? I am curious as some washers without the traditional agitator seem to have issues removing enough water resulting in much longer drying times in the dryer.
Asked by Terry.
- A:Answer I have had Samsung washers and dryers in the past and decided to give this GE a try and have been very satisfied. I’ve never had any issues with the rinse/spin and drying times seems much faster than my Samsung sets. Definitely happy with my purchase.

Q: QuestionWe purchased this machine exactly a month ago, and today it won’t spin and when I press to do spin and drain separately or any other wash option, it doesn’t do anything except to blink “LID” on the monitor. It won’t lock the lid either. Help?
Asked by PDX77.
- A:Answer I posted this question and called the GE people, too. However, they thought it had to do with the lid latch. So they just sent us the parts for them, but they weren’t the issue. My husband was feeling the inside of the machine near the lid latch and found that some sort of plug that connects the lid sensor and the machine was disconnected. He put that in more securely and the machine works beautifully. I also thought it had to do with the sensor of the lid and the machine was not communicating. . . So the machine thought the lid was not closed and wouldn’t lock. Whew! I hope this machine last, because we do love when it works. I love that it doesn’t have the agitator tube in the middle and spacious inside. And it cleans the clothes very well. What worries most is how long this sensing thing will last. . . It’s too computerized(?).
