Love this stove !
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This really serves the purpose. Used it the first time to bake brownies. Preheat worked perfectly. Most useful is the window to see inside. The matte finish on the grates make sense.

Fantastic Quality Range and Service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before i was ready to commit to a large ticket item such as a range. i needed it to do what i want and be reasonably priced. looks are a close third. This range fits all of my needs and makes me feel like i'm in a 5 star restaurant kitchen looks wise. the pics on here don't do it justice. Every thing lines up perfectly and the stainless adds so much class! one of my best purchases to date. i did plenty of reading feedback all over the net on 5 different models before i jumped on this one. they hauled my old heap out for free and set this Bentley in its place(w/o gas hook up). i did the leveling myself which was a snap. i waited to post a review for some time, so this is my opinion from over a years use. lastly, it was the least expensive on the net for comparable models!

Q: QuestionI just purchased the stove, and I would like to buy replacement knobs up front, so I will have them if needed. Can I buy a set of the exact same knobs? Are replacement knobs available in stainless or another metal?
Asked by RubyShopper.
- A:Answer After three years, the metal sheet covering the plastic started peeling off the knobs due to exposure to the heat from the oven. It started at the bottom of the knobs above the oven. We contacted GE directly and they sent us new knobs for free. These are cheap plastic and terrible for use in an appliance that uses high heat. The replacements are plastic as well, so we take the knobs off when using the oven, which is really inconvenient. We could not find any knobs that are all metal and don't want to ruin these because we may not get another set at no charge and they are not cheap to purchase. Really poor quality and we are very disappointed in GE, but I think all the manufactures are using plastic knobs now.

Q: QuestionI know it's a minimal feature, but curious if the temp of the oven shows as it preheats so you can see how far along it is? Or just tells you it's preheating? Thanks!
Asked by LaurenP.
- A:Answer Hi LaurenP - When preheating, the oven's temperature display will show "100F" or "PrE" for preheat. It has an audible preheat signal. Many newer ranges have a Preheat that will signal when the oven has reached a temperature hot enough to add food, rather than when the set temperature is reached. Typically the range will signal after about 7-12 minutes, depending of the temperature you set. We test our ranges with prepackaged foods, frozen pizzas, baked goods, etc. We put the items in at the beep, and get good results. This can help save time in the kitchen, since you are not waiting longer for the preheat than necessary, in most cases. Recipes can differ, as can a food's preheat requirements. Most foods we tested don't require additional oven heating, though there are always exceptions. If you're finding a recipe isn't cooking properly, then you may want to turn on the oven a little bit before you start your food preparation to give it a little more time. You can also remove unused racks when using the oven for faster preheat, improved efficiency, and optimal performance. Keep in touch! Sue

Q: QuestionWhat are the knobs made of? Are they plastic? Been reading that they melt, is that right?
Asked by ang.
- A:Answer Hi - The stainless steel appearance knobs are a durable electroplated plastic designed for use around heat so melting would not be considered normal. Gas ranges are designed specifically for closed door broiling and produce optimal broiling results. When broiling in gas ranges, you should keep the door closed for safety reasons. You should also use closed-door broiling when cooking in a range with knobs or controls above the door. This keeps the knobs from getting too hot or from getting damaged by the extended periods of high heat. Keep in touch! Sue
