It is a very beautiful design but sadly is not that efficient. I did a research for about a month comparing all models and brands and this hood was at the very top of my budget but figured that the name brand was worth it. It has 2 light levels and 4 speeds which was the perfect combination but once I installed it at 34 inches high, the lowest I could go without hitting my head in the center ( I am 5'9 ), the level 1 and 2 basically do not do any suction, so you have to start at level 3 or go to 4 for some very simple cooking. Even if level 1 or 2 worked it is veryyyy noise amd has no suction power. The suction area is very small and only in the middle so cooking on the side burners doesn't work unless its on level 4. I read reviews about people complaining about how noisy it was and thought that probably people was very picky but at almost $1,500 how is it that is sooo noisy even on level 1. The other issue is the instructions which I also read on other site that they were not good instructions and again thought probably this people has never built anything following instructions but I am now sure they were right. There are 2 levelers screws that have really no function and it is not explain how to use them. It is missing holes were screws are suppose to go and it is not very explained missing some very important details. I really wanted to love it since my research was very long and detailed but unfortunately I would never recommend it because of the its price and efficiency. For basic cooking we don't even turn it on anymore and after spending 2 month waiting for it and all the time and money to have installed it is not cost effective to pull it apart and return it. I never leave a review like this but $1,500 for a hood that I feel is not efficient, noisy and expensive I want other people not the make the same mistake I made by choosing this Hood. Not oven for 50% off is worth the money. I expected btter from a known brand like GE.

Made a huge difference in my kitchen. It functions perfectly and looks so much better then the under the cabinet one I had.

The GE Profile Range Hood looks better than the picture shown on the Best Buy website. I have only had this unit one day but it outperforms the unit it replaced. The fan speeds are more than is needed and it is not very noisy except at the very highest speed. I do not see using the highest speed very often unless you make blackened dishes where you need high temp frying.
