Potential Issues with Engineered Design
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Nice dishwasher but buyer beware! The steam vents at the bottom of the door. If you're using the steam feature, any engineered or solid floor will discolor or stain. I was advised to purchase a GE to replace my old one because of where the electrical wiring comes up from the floor. I really had my heart set on a Bosh! :-(

Good Dishwasher, but Not Super Quiet
||Posted .So before I start, BestBuy delivery and installation close to holidays is awful. Multiple cancellations and when they showed up, they had the wrong model. Anyways, prepare for a lot of headaches. Noise: You probably know that sound pressure level (SPL) is a logarithmic scale, so the difference between 45db and 42db is not like 10%. Actually, in each 3db sound volume will be doubled, meaning 45db is twice as loud as a 42db dishwasher. If I knew how loud 45db is in action, I would opt in for a 39db dishwasher. The operation is audible and the fan noise for drying is quite irritating like a loud fridge. Cleaning and Drying Power: Very nice cleaning power, and drying is perfect for everything including glass. Much better than my old dishwasher. Bottle jets are amazing and so is the utensils jets. Aesthetics: Off the chart. However the stainless color is a bit warmer than my non-Profile GE fridge and gas range. The middle top black area above the handle On the front is actually a mini display that shows “washing” or “drying” depending on the cycle. Conclusion: Very nice dishwasher with the sale price. If you’ve more budget, get the 39db version. Thanks for reading.

Disappointing quality for GE Profile
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. We have all GE products including Washer and Dryer. We ordered this Profile Dishwasher to complete the set. Delivery didn't call until the end of the window. Delivered it with water in it that dumped into our house when they set it down. Terrible instructions that were generic and vague at best used potentially for all of their dishwashers. Order of operations caused you to work under the dishwasher vs steps that could have made it a lot easier before sliding in. It appears they only believe pros are going to install something that's pretty simple for an average homeowner. Initial quality was poor. The trim pieces you have to fit the seals on were misaligned. We though this could have been an open box for a bit because of the weird glue and residue that still hasn't come off. Support brackets are strong enough to give it a solid feel so it slips around a bit. Screw covers were cheap plastic and bent when having to force them into the ill shaped trim. I don't think I'll buy a GE Dishwasher ever again after this.

Rust stains near the display and leaking
||Posted .Owned for 1 year when reviewed. We had high hopes based on the reviews we read for the dishwasher but barely a year past purchasing we are very disappointed. The dishwasher as rust stains near the digital display which has also intermittently stopped displaying. In addition we now have leaking without even using the steam function that has begun discoloring our wood floors. Would never have purchased if we knew this would be the outcome. We expected a much better product from GE.

So Worth Buying!!!!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed. It’s very, very quiet. It cleans very well. It has settings for just a few dishes or a full load. It’s fingerprint resistance. I didn’t know what to expect with the mixed reviews I read, but took a chance and happy that I did. The setup was quick and Best Buy hauled off the old one. Spacious for all type of dishes and pans. It’s beautiful in my kitchen and I love everything about it! I highly recommend it.

Fantastic Dishwasher!
Posted .Bought this dishwasher a little over a month ago and it is a huge upgrade over my old dishwasher. I previously had an old dishwasher from another brand that was incredibly loud so sound was my first priority in a new replacement. This dishwasher is incredibly quiet and I can hardly tell it is running unless I am standing near it in the kitchen! The appearance of this dishwasher is beautiful and really stands out in the kitchen. Top control is a huge plus as I am used to having to kneel down to see the buttons on my old washer. Turbo dry is incredibly handy and leave my dishes nice and dry (very hot to the touch right after finishing though). The 3rd rack for utensils is also another big plus as anyone knows, the old utensil racks take up space on the bottom rack and can be annoying to get things in/out of them. Lastly the bottle washing sprayers are perfect for those hard to clean bottles with narrow openings. Really helps get into those hard to reach spots. Pros: Appearance is beautiful! Very Quiet Top control is very handy 3rd rack for utensils Cons: Some of the cycles seem very long especially when adding on additional options. Only really effects you if you are in a pinch in getting things washed quickly Highly recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

Q: QuestionWhat is the time of the shortest wash cycle?
Asked by Balticblond.
- A:Answer Approximately 1 hour but not very effective to get things clean and dry
Answered by Mark
Q: QuestionI am considering this purchase to replace a very old profile that has worked well. I am concerned about a review that stated steam coming out at the bottom. Can I be assured this won't ruin my hardwood floor?
Asked by Jane.
- A:Answer Hi - Thank you for considering this lovely GE dishwasher for your home. This model offers our "Hidden Vent" feature. The feature not only eliminates excess steam it also aids in drying your dishes. Air is pulled from the tub with an efficient 10 watt fan. The fan drives the moist air down a condensation tube, where any remaining drops of moisture are released within the door to a moisture proof trough in the lower inner door. Any remaining moisture drains back into the bottom of the tub and away from the dish load. When the dishwasher is installed properly there would be no issue with steam damaging your flooring. All our best! Vikki@GEA

Q: QuestionDoes it show clean when it is done? Mine doesn’t seem to.
Asked by John.
- A:Answer Yes the unit should indicate Clean with a GREEN light. However a fan does run and the Green light will stay ON until the dishwasher door is opened.

Q: QuestionMy water bottles are 9” tall. Is there sufficient clearance to put them on the bottle jets?
Asked by LK.
- A:Answer Hello LK - Thank you for reaching out about this very versatile dishwasher. The top rack is adjustable and allows approximately 7 to 9 inches of clearance depending on the adjustment. Therefore, at the lowest setting for the upper rack, a 9 inch bottle will fit. Feel free to bring your bottle in to the store to test it out! Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John

Q: QuestionIs the stainless steel fingerprint proof? Are there filters that have to be cleaned?
Asked by CRJJ91.
- A:Answer Hi CRJJ91 - Yes, PDT715SYNFS has a fingerprint resistant stainless finish. It also has a removable filter that can be easily removed for cleaning. Simply twist counterclockwise and lift to remove. This should be done every other month or more depending on usage. See page 21 of the Use and Care Manual for complete details: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000214.pdf - It also uses the latest technology (Dry Boost with Fan Assist) to get hard-to-dry items like plastic tumblers up to three times drier than other heated cycles can. Q: QuestionThe space I have to house the dishwasher is about 1/4 inch higher than the machine. Can I program the cycles with the door open or do I need to have extra room about the door?
Asked by Panel.
- A:Answer You can program it with door open then shut it to start. That's what I do as I have granite that covers the top of it.
