Good microwave - note the drawbacks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to get this and matching Single Convection Wall Oven to retrofit an aging Maytag Oven and Kitchenaid Microwave. I did the fitting in existing cabinet along with the matching trim kit. The trimkit bottom plate assembly is a pain compared to older Kitcehnaid one. This one has be fixed to the bottom of the microwave first and then inserted into the cabinet. So make sure there is enough wiggle room to insert this and insert the plug into the electrical socket as the wire is not long enough. That said once done it looks beautiful and clean. The trim kit is also very good and has side vents for hot air and steam to escape. Now the microwave function itself. As this does not have the inverter technology like the interim Panasonic oven I had, this does the traditional on / off of the microwaves itself. This leads to either uneven heating for similar settings or over does things. Need to adjust to this microwave specifically. Tip: if purchased with trim kit and installation option there is no sales tax as this would come under permanent fixtures at home.

Great microwave and the perfect trim kit!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Couldn’t find this microwave for the GE Slate trim kit anywhere. Even Samsung vendors weren’t able to get one for me. Luckily, Best Buy had both! I haven’t used the microwave yet since we haven’t closed on our new build yet but it looks perfect! *the product is “dusty” do to construction

Good replacement microwave
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microwave has all of the basic functions and works well. Trim kit was pretty simple to install and looks better than the one that it replaced.

good buy except for built-in trim kit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.we are pleased with our purchase - in fact, our previous microwave was a GE profile - the features are similar however the dimensions of the previous one was smaller than the new one - as a result, it required us to purchase another stainless steel Built-in trim kit - it cost us an additional $250 - NOT HAPPY WITH THE ADDITIONAL COSTS!! in addition, the quality of the trim kit was inferior to its earlier version

Great Over-the-Range Alternative
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this microwave because we wanted a vent hood rather than an over-the-range microwave in our new kitchen, but we didn't want to sacrifice microwave capacity. This microwave is big enough for anything we need to cook and stylish enough to look good out on the counter. So far, everything about this microwave works very well, and we have no complaints.

Like It
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old GE microwave did not get hot enough and took a long time to cook. So I decided to get a new GE wall unit and am very pleased with it. It looks great and is quiet. GE said it would fit perfectly, but it did not. It was quite a production to install but it is working and looking good now. The finish is unusually pretty.

Easy to use and family-friendly!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GE microwave was purchased to replace another GE microwave that had been previously installed in the house we purchased in 2007. We use our microwave multiple times daily. We're not sure why the other one died, however we were pleased with the longevity of the previous model so we decided to purchase the updated version! The black on black looks sharp. (The previous version we had was stainless steel but we like the black better.) More importantly, it is easy for kids, teens and adults to use. We use some of the one-touch features (e.g. popcorn) but mainly use the cook time manual entry option.

- A:Answer My built in GE Profile PEB2060SM2SS built in Microwave started turning on when I opened the door, yesterday evening. I'm not DIY savvy so I would like to replace it with a new one. Where can I buy this exact Microwave?

Q: QuestionI need to replace my unit , series JE1860SH, 12 3/4 by 24 inches. I do not see any GE that will fit exactly in my existing trim kit. I have to say that if there is not, I will not buy a GE microwave as I am no longer tied to the trim kit.
Asked by MJ2409.
- A:Answer There is a direct replacement for that unit it is GE : JES2051SNSS

Q: QuestionThe height of this unit is listed as 14 inches. Does that include the rubber feet? I am replacing a GE Profile Model JE2160SF01. It has a Trim kit JX2130 with a height opening of 13 1/4 inches. I would like to reuse the trim kit. Thank you.
Asked by Gabe.
- A:Answer Our original microwave was a GE Profile JE2160SF03 with trim kit JX2130SH. We replaced the microwave with PEB7226SFSS and used the old trim kit. It fit perfectly. All the holes matched. No problem and saved lots of money!

Q: QuestionMy JE2160SF03 needs to be replaced. Can you recommend a built in that is similar in dimensions? There is a trim kit around it.
Asked by Eschmidt.
- A:Answer Hi Eschmidt- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! The comparable model is our GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEB7226SFSS. It is compatible with GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SFSS and GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227SFSS. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. We encourage you to view the Quick Specs for more details: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=240379_peb7226sf_c2.pdf - Thank for reaching out to us! Q: QuestionI am trying to replace a GE Profile JE2160SF 03 Model Number. I would like to continue to use the trim kit we have. The microwave needs to be stainless steel. I need the replace microwave number and a trim kit it I cannot use the one I have currently.
Asked by Macy2493.
- A:Answer Hi Macy2493- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We certainly appreciate your loyalty! The comparable replacement is our GE PROFILE™ SERIES 2.2 CU. FT. COUNTERTOP MICROWAVE OVEN PEB7226SFSS. It is compatible with OPTIONAL 30" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX7230SFSS and OPTIONAL 27" BUILT-IN TRIM KIT JX7227SFSS. We suggest to view the Quick Specs for cabinet cutout requirements: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=240379_peb7226sf_c2.pdf - The only difference between the 27" and 30" trim kit is the trim frame. If the microwave is installed over a 27" or 30" wall oven, be sure to match the trim kit width to the oven. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for each model (trim kits are not interchangeable). Also, keep your stainless steel appliances looking like new with Cerama Bryte® Stainless Steel Appliance Cleaner: https://www.geapplianceparts.com/store/parts/spec/PM10X311 - We hope this is helpful. Thanks for making GE Appliances a part of your home. Enjoy!

Q: QuestionI have a 2005 model GE profile Microwave JE1860SH04 and wondered if there was a newer microwave that I could install and use the old trim kit
Asked by Catcher04.
- A:Answer It depends on your trim kit, as not all of the holes match up. The trim kits compatible with above model are JX7230SFSS and JX7227SFSS. Your model was compatible with trim kits JX1830 and JX1827 which were for 1.8 cubic foot microwaves.

Q: QuestionI have a built in GE Profile PEB2060. Black . What would be my replacement?
Asked by Eugenia.
- A:Answer I can confirm Maverick's answer. The GE JES2051 works with the PEB2060's trim kit. Got a JES2051DNBB today and the trim kit (JX2027) I used for the PEB2060 lined up with it perfectly. And a note to the GE engineers: You are not doing yourself any favors by changing dimensions and forcing the customer to buy a new trim kit that may be almost as expensive as the microwave. Your customers may simply choose to go with another brand. That's what I would have done if I did not find a compatible model.
