Keep stacks of dirty dishes to a minimum with this GE Profile built-in dishwasher. The Piranha hard food disposal system prevents clogs and keeps food particles off of your dishes, while the high-temperature rinse function sanitizes dishes to kill most of bacteria. This GE Profile built-in dishwasher boasts five wash cycles and automatic temperature control for consistent, reliable results.
Dry Boost with Fan Assist
Use the sophisticated drying technology to get hard-to-dry items such as plastic tumblers up to three times drier than other heated cycles can.
Deep-clean silverware jets
No matter how you load your silverware basket, powerful jets blast away stuck-on food for silverware that's always spotless.
Clean hard-to-reach areas inside tall items with up to 4 dedicated jets integrated into the upper rack that shower water deep inside for the ultimate clean.
Now there's a place for miscellaneous items and gadgets, owing to an additional rack at the top of the dishwasher, which is ideal for plastic lids, pizza slicers and more.
Steam and Sani
Loosens tough soils before any cycle, virtually eliminating the need for soaking or prerinsing dishes. Plus, a high-temperature rinse sanitizes and reduces most of bacteria found on dishes.
Piranha hard food disposer
To ensure consistently clean items, this stainless steel blade rotates at 3600 rpm to pulverize food particles, and helps prevent large particles from clogging the wash arms.
Lower rack multiposition, fold-down tines
Configure racks to fit your dishes with adjustable loading options, including multiposition, fold-down tines.
Adjustable full-extension smooth-glide upper rack
Loading and unloading is smooth and simple with a durable rack that fully extends on 48 ball bearings.
16 place settings
Extra capacity to ensure easy cleanup from your largest gatherings.
Ultraquiet operation creates a peaceful kitchen environment, even as it delivers powerful wash performance.

GE Profile Series Top Control Built-In Dishwasher with Stainless Steel Tub, 3rd Rack, 45dBA
So before I start, BestBuy delivery and installation close to holidays is awful. Multiple cancellations and when they showed up, they had the wrong model. Anyways, prepare for a lot of headaches.
You probably know that sound pressure level (SPL) is a logarithmic scale, so the difference between 45db and 42db is not like 10%. Actually, in each 3db sound volume will be doubled, meaning 45db is twice as loud as a 42db dishwasher. If I knew how loud 45db is in action, I would opt in for a 39db dishwasher. The operation is audible and the fan noise for drying is quite irritating like a loud fridge.
Cleaning and Drying Power:
Very nice cleaning power, and drying is perfect for everything including glass. Much better than my old dishwasher. Bottle jets are amazing and so is the utensils jets.
Off the chart. However the stainless color is a bit warmer than my non-Profile GE fridge and gas range. The middle top black area above the handle On the front is actually a mini display that shows “washing” or “drying” depending on the cycle.
Very nice dishwasher with the sale price. If you’ve more budget, get the 39db version. Thanks for reading.
Bought this dishwasher a little over a month ago and it is a huge upgrade over my old dishwasher. I previously had an old dishwasher from another brand that was incredibly loud so sound was my first priority in a new replacement. This dishwasher is incredibly quiet and I can hardly tell it is running unless I am standing near it in the kitchen!
The appearance of this dishwasher is beautiful and really stands out in the kitchen. Top control is a huge plus as I am used to having to kneel down to see the buttons on my old washer.
Turbo dry is incredibly handy and leave my dishes nice and dry (very hot to the touch right after finishing though). The 3rd rack for utensils is also another big plus as anyone knows, the old utensil racks take up space on the bottom rack and can be annoying to get things in/out of them.
Lastly the bottle washing sprayers are perfect for those hard to clean bottles with narrow openings. Really helps get into those hard to reach spots.
Appearance is beautiful!
Top control is very handy
3rd rack for utensils
Some of the cycles seem very long especially when adding on additional options. Only really effects you if you are in a pinch in getting things washed quickly
Highly recommend this dishwasher to anyone!
It cleans really good. Although in the beginning I don’t think it’s very hot but it does get hot by the end of the cycle which last about 280 to 340 minutes if you want it to be completely sanitary.
One issue that I didn’t complain about is a recall before I purchased it, the description said it had a light in the cabin.
Second issue was the unit is more deep by length it was not completely hidden.
Third issue the top & side moldings really are of low quality considering the cost of the unit.
Fourth issue while Although the third rack is a nice part of the unit, which is one of my favorite features some utensils if they are heavily soiled with oil or butter need to be put in the normal silverware compartment on the first level to ensure that it gets clean. Even then I don’t know if he gets 100% of the oil off of spatulas.
However I did not feel the need to return it for any of these issues the performance is very good.
Good things first:
Machine is super quiet, I hardly know it is ON. 3rd rack is great. Being able to wash 1/2 rack is great. Looks great.
The bad -
1. quality control is terrible. If I were not handy, this could have turned disastrous. Someone on the assembly line forgot to install a clip to the water inlet valve, and the dishwasher leaked aplenty, not from the water/drain connections! I bought clip from HomeDepot and fixed the manufacturer defect! None of the lower cost dish washers I have installed in the past ever arrived with such a major defect.
2. Over sized rubber insulation, required manual trimming which makes it not to look great once done. The manual suggests the trimming, but not how or where exactly to trim. Without trimming, dishwasher not fitting.
The bottom is adjustable for those big items, 3rd rack is amazing for all this large cooking utensils and items that never had a space, sanitize option, bottle jets for deep containers, everything comes out clean and dry. I always forget it’s running because it’s so quiet! So many features I’m probably forgetting to list some. Great purchase!
We were replacing another GE dishwasher and wanted to keep a couple of key features that were important to us, including hard food disposal and heated drying. With a few weeks of experience with the appliance, I think it’s time to write my review.
Overall: It’s a solid, extremely quiet dishwasher that gets my dishes clean. It’s not perfect, and was a good replacement for the GE that turned out 15 good years of cleaning for my family.
As for managing expectations, there are a few things that annoy me about this dishwasher:
1) The third rack limits the size of the glassware you can put in the second rack, meaning stemware (i.e. wine glasses) will not fit unless you drop the adjustable rack to its lowest position.
2) You cannot put full sized dinner plates in the lower rack when the second rack is at its lower position. The only option is to remove the third rack when washing stemware and full sized plates.
3) The Normal cycle with normal drying says it should take 1 hour, 28 minutes but it has yet to take less than two hours from start to the end beep.
4) Using the bottle jets—a nice feature, I admit—adds 23 minutes to the scheduled cycle. That said, the bottle jets are best for tall items which won’t fit without dropping the 2nd rack or removing the 3rd rack. See above for why that’s problematic.
5) The recommended detergent is Finish, but I have to cram the Quantum gel packs into the tiny holder in the door. I’ve yet to use one of the tablets, but I suspect those might be more trouble: At least you can squeeze the gel pack. If you’re going to co-brand, at least make sure the brands are compatible.
6) The door spring is wound pretty tight which will probably ease over time/with use, but be careful letting it go because the door will slam.
Again, this is a good dishwasher and I am happy with my purchase, Don’t let the above dissuade you from buying this GE Profile Dishwasher, but there were some trade offs and you should be aware of them. I don’t think any dishwasher is perfect, and in this case the third rack is unnecessary and probably causes more logistical headaches than it solves.
As for Best Buy, the installers they sent were terrific. Friendly, polite, respectful of property, and they were in and out in no time. My experience with Best Buy was excellent and I’d buy an appliance from them again.
A:AnswerHello LK - Thank you for reaching out about this very versatile dishwasher. The top rack is adjustable and allows approximately 7 to 9 inches of clearance depending on the adjustment. Therefore, at the lowest setting for the upper rack, a 9 inch bottle will fit. Feel free to bring your bottle in to the store to test it out! Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John
