Excellent features. For small loads you can choose from either the top rack or the bottom rack. Especially enjoy the bottle washers. Automatic water analyzes food particles so you are guaranteed clean dishes
A:AnswerHi Dennis, thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear about your dishwasher starting, we know that must be frustrating. There is an article on our website titled "DISHWASHERS - WILL NOT RUN, HAS LIGHTS OR SOUND" that may prove helpful. If that does not help, you may want to reach out to service to see if anything else can be done to help. We hope that this helps. Stay safe. -Michael
A:AnswerHi - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE! We are happy to address your concern regarding cycle times. It is normal for some dishwashers to run for up to two hours or more under certain conditions and on certain models. On select models, the timer display or dial will stop for long periods (up to 1/2 hour) during the wash and dry cycles while the heater is activated.
On models featuring Auto Hot Start, the cycle may be extended up to 20 minutes while the dishwasher heats the water. This time will vary depending on the temperature of the water coming in to the machine. Cycle time may also vary on models with clean sensors due to the sensor extending or decreasing cycle time and number of fills based on the soil level. In recent years, there has been changes to federal water and energy efficiency guidelines, which means dishwashers use less water and less energy to run. In fact, many dishwashers are Energy Star rated, so they surpass standard energy guidelines. Dishwashers now run longer to ensure good wash performance, but they use less energy while running. Also, in using less water, your water heater does not need to provide as much hot water and therefore is not using energy to heat more water. Adding options will increase cycle times. For example Dry Boost may add up to 64 minutes to the cycle time. Bottle Jets increases the time that the bottle jets are on and may add up to 23 minutes to the cycle time. Wash Temp Boost increases the temperature to help clean heavily soiled dishes and will increase the cycle time by 20 to 50 minutes. We suggest viewing pages 7-8 of the Use and Care Manual for cycle and options times: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-4000214-1.pdf - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. A:AnswerHi JimLinda829 - We are happy to hear from you and share more about this dishwasher. The filters are not self-cleaning but only require attention once a month or so. Directions to clean them are found on page 21 of the manual. We recommend reaching out to your local Best Buy for more information on the delivery and installation packages. Thanks! - John@GEAppliances
A:AnswerHi there - Great question! Don't worry, GDT645SSN3SS is the same model as what you ordered, GDT645SSNSS. The extra digit just adds some additional information to the model, much like when you add the area code to your local phone number. When the dishwasher is manufactured, these extra numbers are placed on the rating plate and registration card. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance. Thanks so much for checking! -Mikayla
A:AnswerHi Benny, thanks for your question! We'd be happy to help. To cancel a wash cycle, press and hold the Start pad for 3 seconds and close door. The dishwasher will drain, emit a beep sound, and the wash cycle light will turn OFF. More information about this can be found on page 7 of your Use and Care Manual. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael
A:AnswerHello and thank you for reaching out about this amazing dishwasher. We are always happy to help.
All of the hardware needed to install the unit will be provided with the dishwasher. Should you need the screws for the mounting brackets, the part number is WD35X10383. We hope this helps and keep in touch! - JB
A:AnswerHi RanchGirl - Thanks for viewing GE Model GDT645SMNES! Per page 5 of the Installation Guide at the following link, the hot water supply line pressure must be 20-120 PSI: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=31-4000211-1.pdf -
Normal household PSI is approximately 40 - 45. Very low pressure keeps the dishwasher from filling or filling enough. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask. We are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com. Sue
