    Most incompetent inept tech EVER

I live in Montgomery County PA 25 miles north of Philly, and this was my experience. I had my calibration scheduled for my Pioneer Pro Elite 111-FD Plasma on a Saturday October 29th. The guy named Robert arrived on time and everything seemed normal. He was doing the calibration in movie mode and I told him that Pure Mode has the most options for calibration and he got very upset and told me "do you think you know more than me" He couldn't do what he called the "white balance adjustment" He called some kind of help desk or something and talked to a guy about getting into the service menu. He tried a dozen times and couldn't do it. He called a second guy and he told me that this model tv can't be calibrated and that NOBODY HAS EVER calibrated this tv EVER IN HISTORY. I told him that there are numerous magazine review of this tv being calibrated and that I've personally talked to people on forums who have this same tv and had it calibrated. He acted like I was crazy and that nobody has ever calibrated this model tv. He said I was rude for acting like this tv could ever be calibrated. The guy literally believed 100% that this model tv could never be calibrated and that nobody has ever calibrated this model tv. Here's how the calibration of this tv is SUPPOSED to be done. http://precision-video.blogspot.com/2009/04/pioneer-pro-111fd-review-and.html Here's a review showing it can be calibrated. http://www.soundandvision.com/content/pioneer-elite-pro-111fd-plasma-tv#KBJ5Sv1aBw86IZRi.97 Here's another review proving that it could be calibrated. https://www.cnet.com/products/pioneer-elite-kuro-pro-1fd/review/ Here is more information. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/167-plasma-flat-panel-displays/1053444-official-pioneer-9g-kuro-settings-issues-thread.html

After reading some of the reviews on calibration of the TV I was apprehensive. I needn't have been. The before was fairly good, the after was incredible. The tech, Randy, who came to my house was knowledgeable, on time, courteous, and professional. I can't say enough nice things about the young man. Be aware that you need to let your TV run at least a hundred hours prior to calibration. I just turned it on, muted it, and let it run. The picture improved on its own as it ran. Then Randy came and the difference was amazing. He spent a close to 2 hours setting everything up. I had purchased a Samsung UN55HU8550. It was well worth the purchase of the calibration to get everything out of the TV. I had my doubts about the benefits, but I highly recommend the calibration (and Randy if you live in NE Georgia). I do most tech things myself and am fairly good at installing and maintaining things myself. This is something I could not have done. Not in a million years. By the way, I am not usually this effusive in my reviews.

First off,the BB salesperson who sold me my $3000.00 Panasonic plasma did not tell me it needed to have 300 hours on it before it could be properly calibrated. The Geek Squad was an hour late for my appointment, only to tell me that I had to schedule another appointment because the T.V didn't have enough hours on it. After the second appointment, which they were also late for,my T.V looked worse that before the calibration. The color temp was set at warm, which gave the picture a horrible yellow tint. When I told the Tech it looked bad to me,I was told "Everybody see color differently,It looks good to me". Only after changing the color temp to cool, and readjusting the other controls I could access, did I get a picture that was acceptable. The saleperson told me the calibration would take every bit of two hours, but the tech only worked for 45 minutes.I think it was a rush job and not worth the money.

When I bought my TV it had a really great pic and pop to it. So i was excited about getting this service. However after the tech so called calibrated my TV it now looks horrible. My HD channels don't even look HD. Is there any other service techs out there I can call to get my TV back to at least the factory settings. Cause I'm not satisfied. And its like I bought a 47 inch old TV. The only thing good was that the tech was nice. Other than that my TV sucks now.

Don't waste your money. My appt. was rescheduled then they showed up three hours late. The calibration consisted of the "Geek Squad Agent" going into the service menu adjusting the white balance and then adjusting the contrast and brightness. $199 for that? Really?

This was the first calibration that we ordered. It is for our new Sharp Aquos Quattron 40" model LC-40LE830U. The tech that came out, Toby, arrived on time and was prompt. He was very knowlegable about the service that he was providing, used the latest technology, and in the end made our TV look much better than out of the box. Well worth getting the calibration. Toby took the time to explain his report to me when he was done and also emailed it to me so I have it for our records. He calibratied the TV to our Directv HD-DVR receiver HDMI input and the input for our PS3. He was great. Thank you very much Toby and Best Buy.

As a Digital Commercial Photographer, I understand color. I have all of my color devices, color profiled and calibrated in my work environment. I have a Panasonic Plasma TV that I tried to "eyeball it". Knowing that I didn't have access to gama and actual color (Kelvin setting), I called and had my TV profiled (calibrated). The color and contrast is so much better than I was able to achieve. The technician was very knowledgeable in his color theory and usage of his equipment. I would certainly recommend this service. My only caveat is price. It's expensive, and according to the technician, some sets don't have very good expert control which they can set in their software programs.

I just got my Tv callibrated two days ago i chose to go with it becouse i spend a lot of money on the TV and the Home theater system so i wanted the best possible picture quality. i tried doing it on my own and it did look better but i just went ahead and paid for the Professional callibration and i got to tell you it is amazing they do two seperate settings one for day one for night they perfect the color and make it as natural as you can get it using there software and equipment the differance was insane the amount of color definition i got after was ten times better and the geek squad agent also broke it down for me and told me step by step what he did my tv was running at 25k when it should have been at 6.5k meaning it was heating up three times more then it should becosue it was doing unatural colors and forcing the TV to work more. as for the guy under me who says its too bright for him becosue they left the backlight at 20 for the day settings just turn it down..... till you like it the main point for this is to fix all your settings to get best picture quality, brightness and backlight you can play with as much as you want until you get it were you like. and another thing i asked the agent and they told me that the better the TV the more you will see the differance when its callibrated so callibration is not for everyone no offence to no one but if you buy a cheap TV and callibrate it you wasted your money... and thats why a lot of people complain theres no differance...if the TV cant output better ofcourse there wont be a differance.......
