For those new to the Godzilla series, the 60s and 70s are by far the goofiest era of the King of the Monsters. The big guy was less of a walking disaster serving as a warning to mankind about nuclear weapons, and more of a big reptilian superhero who engaged in large-scale wrestling matches with other monsters. Godzilla vs. Megalon was originally meant to only star Jet Jaguar (the giant robot who looks suspiciously similar to Ultraman, which is probably why this is his sole appearance in the entire movie franchise), but nobody thought the heroic machine could carry a movie by himself. It still shows, though, as Godzilla doesn't really show up until much later in the movie to back up his robotic ally. With plotlines revolving around ancient civilizations of Atlantis, and some light James Bond-esque spy action, the movie is absolutely ridiculous, but that's just part of the fun of it and this particular part of Godzilla history. So sit back and watch as Godzilla and Jet Jaguar kick and PUNCH! PUNCH! PUNCH! their way through the competition.

Another great classic of Godzilla from 1973. . A underwater civilization fed up with Nuclear Testing unleash their Beetle like God to destroy the surface world.

It's finally nice to be able to get a Blu-ray version of this classic film... I just wish the quality was better.
